The second leg of NASCAR’s Western Swing takes place this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway with the Good Sam 500. Here’s a look at how Ford has done at the one-mile facility since it began hosting NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in 1988.

It was a rainy, blowy kind of Sunday, and that was just in these parts where I live. With a few errands to run, we had Sirius Channel 90 on the car radio so we did not miss the action. Due to the rainy, blowy kind of Sunday at Las Vegas, we did not.

It was a rather blustery day on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Here was what was surprising and not surprising from the 19th Annual Kobalt 400.

Ryan Blaney drove his No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford to a sixth-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, capturing his first top-10 of the season. It was especially gratifying after a last-lap crash last week at Atlanta relegated him to a discouraging 25th place result.

While Matt Kenseth had a winning car this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, his cards weren't a winning hand and he ended up in the red.

Six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Jimmie Johnson, led a group of six Team Chevy drivers to the finish in his No. 48 Kobalt Chevrolet SS at the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the third round of the 2016 season. The start of the 400-mile race was delayed 26 minutes by a passing rain shower; and weather continued to be a challenge with gusty winds and sandstorms.

Martin Truex Jr. hung on to finish 11th in Sunday’s Kobalt 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Brad Keselowski passed Kyle Busch in the closing laps and denied the reigning series champion a weekend sweep in his hometown. The driver of the No. 2 Team Penske Ford got a run on the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota going down the backstretch with five laps to go in the Kobalt 400 and drove on to score the victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Ryan Blaney and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing Team scored their best finish of the young 2016 season with a sixth-place finish at the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Camry driver Kyle Busch (fourth) was the top-finishing Toyota in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
