For the third week in a row the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) will compete under the lights. The night race at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway is always a contender for one of the most exciting night races of the season and Michael Annett and the No. 43 Flying J Travel Plaza Ford team are hoping they can make it their best run of the year.

Elliott Sadler and the No. 11 OneMain Financial team head to Sadler's home track of Richmond International Raceway this weekend to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Virginia 529 College Savings 250.

Travis Pastrana will make his fourth NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Richmond International Raceway this weekend. Pastrana earned his career-best finish in the series’ last visit to the track, crossing the line in ninth. In his two NNS starts in 2012 at the .75-mile track, he finished 25th and 17th.

On February 13, 1982, Dale Earnhardt crossed the finish line first in the Goody’s 300 at Daytona International Speedway to win the inaugural race in what is now known as the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Twenty-three champions and 136 race winners later, NASCAR’s No. 2 series approaches an historic milestone – its 1,000th race, on Sept. 6 at Richmond International Raceway (7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2, Motor Racing Network Radio, SiriusXM Satellite Radio).

After dominating this same race last season only to be passed by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on the last lap, Harvick again dominated the Great Clips / Grit Chips 300 but held off a furious charge from Kyle Busch over the last seven laps. Harvick led 132 laps on his way to his first NNS win of the season, 40th of his career.
