Ross Kenseth said he came to Michigan International Speedway for one thing Friday: “learn to win.” Mission accomplished. Kenseth, 22, making his third career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start, won Friday’s Corrigan Oil 200, winning at the two-mile speedway by 2.1 seconds over Frank Kimmel.
The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 will contest its milestone 100th all-time event with the Budweiser 300 Saturday at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction, Quebec.
Verizon IndyCar Series driver James Hinchcliffe was the guest on the INDYCAR media teleconference to discuss his recovery from injuries sustained in a practice crash during preparations for the Indianapolis 500 on May 18. Conor Daly, a 23-year-old native of Noblesville, Ind., will drive the No. 5 Arrow/Lucas Oil Schmidt Peterson Honda in place of Hinchcliffe at this weekend's Honda Indy Toronto.
The Honda Indy Toronto will mark the 16th year of Indy car racing for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) here and fourth since 2003. The team also competed in the Atlantic Series races here in 2003 and 2004. The team earned a total of four second place finishes (Rahal 1992, 1994, 1995; Michel Jourdain Jr. 2003) and best start was pole in 1992 by Bobby Rahal.

“After running so well last night, and yesterday in general, this was a shock to us. We’re pretty disappointed in the performance; the car was extremely loose. This hurts us in the championship because we lost some ground. We didn’t see this yesterday in those conditions even on old tires so it is a shock for sure to see the handling today like we had. It was a bad day but we will work hard to recover from this and be strong in Toronto.”
