The stock car racing industry has slowly centralized around the metro Charlotte, North Carolina area for the past quarter of a century, so it’s rare these days to see a top-level stock car team not based in that area. It’s even more rare to see a top-level team not based in that area succeed.
The ARCA Menards Series’ 20 races are held at 18 different race tracks, and with tracks ranging from 2.66 miles to 0.375 miles and two one-mile dirt tracks thrown in for good measure, it’s one of the most diverse schedules in all of motorsports.

NASCAR Truck Series Champion Mike Skinner won the Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on Saturday night. In a dramatic drive in the No. 5 E-Z Line Toyota, Skinner had to recover from a lap three accident to race through the field and visit victory lane in the Pro Late Model division. It was Skinner's first win at the half-mile since his 2005 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series victory.
