In his first race as a member of Movistar Yamaha MotoGP, Maverick Vinales captured the season-opening win in Qatar on Sunday in dramatic fashion.

While their private test at the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville was cut short due to inclement weather, Gus Dean (@gusdean) and his Win-Tron Racing team still turned plenty of laps around the historic short track giving them plenty of notes ahead of Apr. 8’s Music City 200 presented by Azure Foundation.

A dispute developed during January's ARCA tests at Daytona between a group of drivers and an owner, and now the group is seeking legal action. According to sources, driver Russell Henderson told multiple drivers that he would have a couple of cars ready for Daytona testing. However, upon arrival to the speedway, the drivers found that Henderson had, in fact, failed to bring any equipment for testing despite the drivers already paying him for the opportunity to drive.

For the second year in a row, Ty Majeski visited victory lane in the prestigious Rattler 250 Super Late Model race at South Alabama Speedway. Majeski took the lead on a restart with 18 laps remaining in Sunday afternoon’s 41st Annual Rattler 250 – the season opener for the Southern Super Series.

Two weeks after making his debut with David Gilliland Racing, Giovanni Bromante captured his first career pro late model top ten finish with a sixth in the Baby Rattler 125 on Saturday night at South Alabama Speedway.

Cole Anderson made his debut with Bond Suss Racing on Sunday afternoon in the Hardee’s Rattler 250 and despite starting and finishing in the tenth spot, persevered through much adversity over the course of the 250-lap contest.

The Hardee’s Rattler 250 weekend was a notch in Chase Purdy’s super late model cap as the youngster started the event from the pole position as fast qualifier for the first time in his career. A slipping clutch foiled his chances at victory, however, forcing the No. 97 Bama Buggies Toyota to the pits before halfway.

John Force earned the 148th Funny Car victory of his illustrious career, driving the PEAK Coolant & Motor Oil Chevrolet Camaro SS.
