Late season special events abound as the schedule winds down for most tracks in the Midwest. In Indiana, one of the last big sprint car races is the Haubstadt Hustler at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt. This single night event brings together, both the Amsoil USAC National Sprint Car Series and Midwest Sprint Car Series for a full night of action. Three editions of the Haubstadt Hustler have been contested dating back to 2011, and Tracy Hines has raced in each and every one.

Ohio has a handful of “must-see” events for 410-winged sprint cars each season. The Jim Ford Classic at Fremont Speedway in certainly one of those races. Named after former Fremont Speedway Promoter, the late Jim Ford, the two-night event was born in 2007, and has continued to grow each and every year. Taylor Ferns, who has competed in some of the biggest events in Midget and Silver Crown Racing will add the Jim Ford Classic to her resume this weekend, as the first marquee 410-winged sprint car event she has competed in since returning to the discipline, after spending the previous three-plus seasons in a variety of different race cars.

Venturini Motorsports (VMS) announces today that Daniel Suarez will make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut at Kentucky Speedway during the ZLOOP 150 on Friday, September 19th, in the No. 66 ARRIS Toyota.

Kraig Kinser has gotten plenty of windshield time over the last month as the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series has visited 10 tracks in five states and one Canadian province over the course of a grueling 13-race stretch, including seven shows in eight nights in Washington, Oregon and California. After putting in another 1,800 miles this week to get from California to Iowa, the second-generation driver will compete at Clay County Fair Speedway in Iowa, and Deer Creek Speedway in Minnesota, aboard the Mesilla Valley Transportation/Casey’s General Store/King Racing Products Maxim.

On Saturday night at Barrie Speedway, it was evident that L.P. Dumoulin didn't have the handling that he would've preferred to get around the tight confines of Barrie Speedway. However, throughout the night, Mario Gosselin and the team continued to work on the No. 47 Weathertech Dodge and by the end of the night, the pieces came together as Dumoulin posted a fourth place finish.

Penske marks 400th motorsports win: A week after celebrating its Verizon IndyCar Series driver and entrant championships in Southern California, Team Penske principals marked the organization's 400th victory in all forms of motorsports in the stock car race at Richmond, Va.

NASCAR announced on Monday that all 16 Challengers in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup would participate in a “Chase Across North America” media tour. Sixteen drivers in sixteen different cities, with one in each Chase market and additionally Los Angeles, Mexico City, San Antonio, TORONTO, New York and Bristol Connecticut.

Leading 182 laps, Jason Hathaway would edge out J.R. Fitzpatrick at the line on Saturday night at Barrie Speedway to score the victory in the Wahta Springs 300. It marks Hathaway's second victory of the season after winning at Autodrome Chaudiere earlier this year.

Saturday’s running of the Wahta Springs 300 at Barrie Speedway was event number 10 of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil1 2014 tour. Steckly had a strong run going early when during the middle stages of the race they suffered a parts failure that would put them behind the wall for repairs for several laps.

Following a late race restart, Jason Hathaway would beat J.R. Fitzpatrick barely at the line to score the victory in the Wahta Springs 300 at Barrie Speedway. It marks Hathaway’s second straight victory on the tight oval after winning last year’s event.
