For the first time since 2000, Juan Pablo Montoya would return to Verizon IndyCar Series victory lane after taking the lead with four laps to go when Tony Kanaan would have pit for fuel.

After dominating the previous two events at Circuit ICAR, Andrew Ranger kept the positive momentum going as he would score the pole for Sunday's Jiffy Luke 100. Ranger lapped the airport-based road course in 95.956 seconds (79.274 mph) during qualifying for his 14th career pole, tying him with J.R. Fitzpatrick for the NCAT all-time record.
