Quantum AI: Case Studies of Success in the Markets

Quantum AI, the cutting-edge technology that combines the power of artificial intelligence with the potential of quantum computing, has been making waves in the financial markets. In this article, we will explore the various aspects of Quantum AI and its role in shaping the future of finance. From understanding the fundamentals of quantum computing to analyzing its intersection with AI and delving into its impact on financial markets, we will delve deep into this exciting field.

Understanding Quantum AI

The Basics of Quantum Computing

Quantum computing, unlike classical computing, leverages the principles of quantum mechanics to perform complex calculations at unprecedented speeds. At its core, a quantum computer uses quantum bits, or qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously, thanks to a phenomenon called superposition. This property allows quantum computers to process vast amounts of data simultaneously, enabling them to solve problems that are intractable for classical computers.

Furthermore, quantum computing also utilizes another key principle of quantum mechanics known as entanglement. Entanglement allows qubits to be correlated in such a way that the state of one qubit is dependent on the state of another, regardless of the distance between them. This phenomenon enables quantum computers to perform operations on multiple qubits instantaneously, leading to exponential speedups in certain computational tasks.

The Intersection of AI and Quantum Computing

Artificial Intelligence, on the other hand, focuses on developing intelligent systems that can learn from data and make predictions or decisions. By combining the power of quantum computing with AI algorithms, Quantum AI aims to unlock new capabilities that could revolutionize industries, including finance. The marriage of these two fields opens up a realm of possibilities for solving complex financial problems with unparalleled accuracy and speed.

Moreover, Quantum AI has the potential to significantly impact other sectors beyond finance. For example, in the field of healthcare, Quantum AI could be used to analyze vast amounts of genomic data to accelerate drug discovery processes and personalize treatment plans for patients. The ability of quantum computers to process and analyze complex data sets in parallel could lead to groundbreaking advancements in various scientific and technological domains.

The Role of Quantum AI in Financial Markets

Predictive Analysis and Quantum AI

One area where Quantum AI has shown tremendous promise is predictive analysis. Traditional AI models rely on classical computing power and finite resources to analyze historical data and make predictions. Quantum AI, however, can tap into exponential computing power and process vast amounts of data to identify intricate patterns and generate more accurate forecasts. As a result, financial institutions can make better-informed investment decisions and optimize their trading strategies.

Risk Management and Quantum AI

Risk management is a crucial aspect of the financial industry. By leveraging Quantum AI, firms can improve their risk assessment models and identify potential vulnerabilities in their portfolios. The ability to analyze vast datasets and simulate various scenarios allows for better risk mitigation strategies and more robust decision-making processes. Quantum AI has the potential to revolutionize risk management practices, making them more efficient and effective.

The Future of Quantum AI in the Markets

Potential Challenges and Solutions

While Quantum AI holds immense promise, there are also challenges that need to be addressed for its widespread adoption. One major hurdle is the limited availability of quantum computers with a sufficient number of qubits. However, researchers and tech companies are actively working on developing more powerful quantum computers, which will eventually alleviate this constraint. Additionally, the field of Quantum AI is still in its nascent stages, and further research is needed to optimize algorithms and overcome technical limitations.

The Impact on Global Financial Markets

The advent of Quantum AI will undoubtedly have a significant impact on global financial markets. Enhanced predictive capabilities, more accurate risk assessments, and faster processing speeds will revolutionize trading strategies and investment decisions. As Quantum AI becomes more mainstream, it is expected to reshape the financial landscape, improve market efficiency, and foster innovation in the industry.

Quantum AI vs Traditional AI in the Markets

Comparative Analysis

When comparing Quantum AI to traditional AI in the context of financial markets, it is crucial to consider factors such as computational power, speed, and accuracy. While traditional AI has undoubtedly revolutionized the finance industry, Quantum AI has the potential to take it to the next level. The ability to process vast amounts of data and perform complex calculations in real-time gives Quantum AI a significant advantage over classical AI models.

The Evolution of AI in Finance

As Quantum AI continues to advance, it is important to consider its impact on the evolution of AI in finance. Classical AI models have played a pivotal role in automating processes, detecting fraudulent activities, and improving customer experience. Quantum AI, with its exponential computing power, offers new possibilities for developing more intelligent systems that can adapt to rapidly changing market conditions and deliver even greater value to financial institutions and investors.

The Ethical Implications of Quantum AI in Finance

Privacy and Security Concerns

As Quantum AI becomes more prevalent in the financial industry, it raises concerns about privacy and data security. The ability of quantum computers to break traditional encryption algorithms poses a unique challenge. Financial institutions must develop robust security measures to protect sensitive customer information and ensure the integrity of their operations. Additionally, regulations around data collection, usage, and storage will need to be adapted to address the unique risks associated with Quantum AI.

Regulatory Considerations

As with any emerging technology, Quantum AI will require a robust regulatory framework to ensure responsible and ethical usage. As financial institutions incorporate Quantum AI into their operations, regulators must establish guidelines to mitigate potential risks and ensure fair market practices. Collaboration between industry stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and policymakers will be crucial in shaping a regulatory environment that fosters innovation while safeguarding the interests of consumers and market participants.

In conclusion, Quantum AI holds tremendous potential to revolutionize the financial markets. Its ability to combine the power of quantum computing with artificial intelligence opens up a new realm of possibilities for predictive analysis, risk management, and decision-making. While there are challenges to overcome and ethical considerations to address, the future of Quantum AI in finance looks promising. As the technology continues to evolve, financial institutions will need to embrace the opportunities it presents to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market.

The Top Checklist for Preferring the Best Online Casinos

With the convenience of accessing thrilling games from the comfort of your home, the popularity of online casinos has skyrocketed. However, not all online casinos are created equal, and finding the best one for your needs can be a daunting task. Remember to prioritize safety, fairness, and enjoyment as you explore the vast world of online gambling. By considering these additional factors alongside the core checklist items, you can make well-informed decisions and choose Casino games online for free that meet your preferences and expectations.

Licensing and Regulation:

Begin your quest by ensuring the online casino is licensed and regulated by a reputable authority. Look for certifications from organizations like the Malta Gaming Authority, the UK Gambling Commission, or the Gaming Commission. Proper licensing ensures the casino operates within legal boundaries and adheres to stringent regulations, providing players with a fair and secure gaming environment.

Game Selection:

Variety is the spice of life, and the same can apply to online casinos. A top-tier online casino should offer diverse games to cater to every player’s preferences. From classic table games like blackjack and roulette to immersive slots and live dealer games, a rich selection ensures there is something for everyone. Check if the casino partners with leading software providers like Microgaming or Evolution Gaming for high-quality gaming experiences.

Bonuses and Promotions:

Bonuses and promotions add extra value to your gaming experience, so don’t overlook this aspect. Look for welcome bonuses, free spins, loyalty programs, and ongoing promotions that reward players for their patronage. However, always read the terms and conditions carefully to understand wagering requirements, expiration dates, and any restrictions associated with bonuses.

Payment Methods:

Secure and smooth transactions are essential for hassle-free gaming. A reputable online casino should support a variety of payment methods, including credit/debit cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, and cryptocurrency options. Ensure the casino offers convenient deposit and withdrawal methods with fast processing times and reasonable limits.

Security Measures:

Protecting your personal and financial information is paramount when gambling online. Choose online casinos that utilize advanced encryption technology, such as SSL encryption, to safeguard data transmission. Additionally, look for casinos that undergo regular security audits and employ strict verification procedures to prevent fraud and identity theft.

Customer Support:

Reliable customer support can make a difference when encountering issues or inquiries. Opt for online casinos that offer multiple channels of customer support, including live chat, email, and phone support, with responsive and knowledgeable representatives. Test their support system by reaching out with questions before committing to ensure prompt and helpful assistance.

Mobile Compatibility:

Flexibility is key in today’s fast-paced world, so ensure the online casino is compatible with mobile devices. Whether you prefer gaming on your smartphone or tablet, a responsive mobile platform allows you to enjoy your favorite games on the go. Look for Casino games online for free with dedicated mobile apps or mobile-responsive websites that offer seamless gaming experiences across various devices.

User Experience:

A user-friendly interface enhances the overall gaming experience. Through the casino’s website or app, assess its ease of use, responsiveness, and visual appeal. Pay attention to loading times, game graphics, and navigation menus to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Responsible Gambling Features:

Gambling should be entertaining, not detrimental to your well-being. Choose online casinos that promote responsible gambling practices by offering tools such as deposit limits, self-exclusion options, and links to support organizations for players experiencing gambling-related issues. Prioritize your mental and financial health by gambling responsibly.

Reputation and Reviews:

Before making a final decision, research the online casino’s reputation and read reviews from other players. Check for customer service, payouts, fairness, and overall satisfaction feedback. While a few negative reviews are inevitable, a pattern of complaints or unresolved issues should raise red flags.

Transparent Terms and Conditions:

Before registering at an online casino, review the terms and conditions governing gameplay, bonuses, and withdrawals. Pay attention to any hidden fees, restrictions on bonus usage, and conditions for cashing out winnings. Transparent terms and conditions foster trust and ensure that players fully understand the rules of engagement.

VIP Programs and Rewards:

For high rollers and frequent players, VIP programs offer exclusive perks and rewards. Consider online casinos that provide tiered loyalty schemes with personalised rewards, VIP managers, faster withdrawals, and invitations to exclusive events. VIP programs enhance the gaming experience and provide additional incentives for long-term players.

Community and Social Features:

When shared with others, gaming is often more enjoyable. Look for online casinos that foster a community through social features like chat rooms, forums, or multiplayer games. Engaging with other players can enhance camaraderie, provide valuable insights, and create memorable gaming moments.

Kyle Busch on challenges of adjusting to the Next Gen car

Photo by John Knittel for SpeedwayMedia.com.

Kyle Busch spoke about the challenges he is experiencing with the Next Gen car Friday afternoon at Darlington Raceway. And although he has earned six top 10s this season, he is in the midst of a 33-race winless streak.

His frustration was palpable as he detailed the issues he has encountered in finding the right balance in the Next Gen car.

“It definitely drives different than the old (Gen-6) car,” Busch explained. “You know, what that is… I’m not exactly sure. I mean, it seems when you lead into the corner and the right front is outside the right rear, the car is much tighter. When you get to the center off of the corner and the right front is inside the right rear coming downhill, it’s much looser. And so trying to find the balance of that has been difficult, trying to get that right.

“But the old car didn’t have that sensation,” he added. “It was easy to just make a smooth corner and have the balance stay the same the whole time, where now I feel like I’m fighting many more balance issues.

“And on top of just fighting those balance issues by yourself, throw in the aero deficiencies that you have in traffic and now you’re just confused. Like you think that you’re going to expect it to do one thing and it does something else and you lose a tenth of a second because you’re trying to garner that feel of what it is.

“I mean, we’re literally all grasping at half of a tenth of a second to be the best car on the racetrack. I mean, many of our pace studies that come out after these races, two-tenths is the difference between first and 25th. So you’re literally grasping at very small gains to move yourself up that pylon.”

Busch had another frustrating race at Darlington in the Goodyear 400 Sunday afternoon, finishing in 27th place.

“We had a tough day today but my crew chief, Randall Burnett, and all the guys on the zone Chevrolet team never gave up. They made adjustment after adjustment all day long but just weren’t able to hit on a combination that worked. I just didn’t have any grip anywhere for much of the race.

“In the last stage, Randall made the call to short pit and we gained track position, cycling up to 12th-place. We made our last stop with 40 or so laps to go but got zapped by a caution just a few laps later. We took the wave around and got back on the lead lap but unfortunately, we couldn’t make up that lost track position.”

Busch is currently 13th in the driver point standings as the series heads to North Wilkesboro Speedway this weekend for the All-Star Race.

NASCAR All-Star Race Week Begins with a Close Look at Pavement and Tire Options

Michael Waltrip joined zMAX CARS Tour drivers on Monday in previewing NASCAR All-Star Race week and offering media pace car rides. (NWS photo)

NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. (May 13, 2024) – Members of the media were able to see the new asphalt of North Wilkesboro Speedway up-close and personal during pace car rides with NASCAR on FOX broadcaster and 1996 NASCAR All-Star Race winner, Michael Waltrip, and zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car driver Brenden “Butterbean” Queen. Also available for interviews were Steve Swift, Senior Vice President of Operations and Development for Speedway Motorsports, Kip Childress, Executive Director of the zMAX CARS Tour, and Carson Kvapil, driver of the No. 8 JR Motorsports Late Model Stock Car.

Media members climbed aboard the Chevrolet Camaro pace cars to experience the unique characteristics of the .625-mile track with Waltrip, who raced on the previous surface from 1983-1996, and Queen, who won last year’s Window World 125 CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car event. In addition to pace car rides, examples of the Goodyear tire options for the All-Star Race, including the “Prime” or regular tire and the “Option” or softer tires, as well as the wet weather tire, were available to examine.

“Marcus Smith is a genius, and what Marcus did with this place, renovating it, yet capturing the nostalgic feel that it has, and the retro feeling, fixing it up, but not losing sight of what North Wilkesboro used to be all about,” said Waltrip. “It’s going to be a great, great week, we’re going to have the late models, the CARS Tour, the trucks and then Sunday night, the big NASCAR Cup All-Star Race.”

“It’s just going to make it more aggressive when there’s grip,” Waltrip added. “When there’s an abundance of grip you want to run the shortest way around the race track and so if you’re running the shortest way around the race track, but somebody behind you is a little bit better, passing is more difficult which means it becomes more physical. You gotta bump a little bit to get people up out of the way. It’ll be interesting to see if the upper grove comes in too. There’s all these nuances to new pavement and how the cars stick in different grooves in the corners. And then you take all that into consideration and you throw in these soft tires that they’re going to have to deal with and it’s going to be pretty intriguing.”

Queen commented on having the challenge of racing against some NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Truck Series drivers this week.

“I never try to dwell on that, but it’s cool to see the bigger names in the Late Model race and like last year to know that I won and beat them all, it was really, really special,” said Queen. “We go there and do our job and put our helmet on and do our job. You want to beat the best and we love to race against them. To be the best you gotta beat the best. We love when they come and run with us because it puts a bigger spotlight on our series.”

Swift detailed the lineup of fan-friendly events that will take place this week, leading into the NASCAR All-Star Race.

“We’ve got the hauler parade coming back Thursday night and Wilkes County, they do a great job going through both Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro, for a great show for all the haulers to come through a lot of celebrities and legends that run with that,” said Swift. “Tuesday and Wednesday night we’ve got some of the best racers in the CARS Tour that’ll be here. Should put on a great show, the late models, this is kind of where they’re tried and true and this is a great facility for them. This is probably one of the best ones that they’ll run on. Friday night, the Pit Crew Challenge, a little bit of a twist to that, we’re going to have the All-Star teams only available for the Pit Crew Challenge, but all cars will be doing the qualifying sessions. Then we roll into Saturday for a great truck race, then we’ve got the two heat races to set the field for Sunday, then we have the Open and the All-Star Race itself for Sunday.”

Childress recommends fans pay attention to the up and coming drivers in the CARS Tour races.

“The biggest thing to really take in is the fact that when they see our kids, our guys, our gals on the race track is to realize that out of that bunch that they’re looking at the next stars of motorsports,” said Childress. “Brendan is a good example of that, Carson Kvapil is another good example. Our drivers who just this year are having opportunities to race at the higher levels of motorsports, whether it’s the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series or NASCAR Xfinity Series. So pay close attention to these kids that are running, because it won’t be long before you’re seeing them on Sundays.”

Kvapil, who won the CARS Tour event at North Wilkesboro in 2022, is ready to take on the historic track again.

“Just being back out here is super cool,” said Kvapil. “I mean, after the first year that we did it in 2022, that was obviously a big kick start for this race track and just being able to come back, just that year was a pretty big deal to all of us honestly, and after that race, we kind of knew that there was definitely going to have to be some more shows here. The amount of attention and the amount of fans that showed up to support that first race was pretty big. Fortunately we had a really good car that day and we were able to win that race. Coming back the next year we were pretty good as well and I think we finished top-ten. Now coming back on the new pavement is pretty different honestly, it’s going to feel different, we’ve already gotten to practice a few times to get a good feel for it. There’s definitely some differences, but even though it’s new pavement, the track definitely drives the same and I think it’ll be a lot of the same racing.”

NASCAR All-Star Race week will include five days or nights of entertainment at North Wilkesboro Speedway including:

  • Tuesday, May 14: zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Models Reverend 100
  • Wednesday, May 15: zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car Window World 125

Eight Former Winners, Five Series Champs Ready To Start ‘500’ Preparation

INDIANAPOLIS (Monday, May 13, 2024) – Preparations for the 108th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge will start this week with a field consisting of eight former winners of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” and five NTT INDYCAR SERIES champions.

There are 34 entries set to contest the 33 starting spots for this year’s edition of the “500.” Practice is scheduled to start Tuesday, May 14, with PPG Presents Armed Forces Qualifying on May 18-19. All track activity on the historic 2.5-mile oval leads into Race Day, Sunday, May 26.

Josef Newgarden earned his first career “500” victory last May after passing 2022 winner Marcus Ericsson on the final lap after a late red flag created a one-lap shootout for a spot on the Borg-Warner Trophy and racing immortality. That was the record-extending 19th “500” victory for Team Penske.

Other former winners aiming for a spot in the race this year include four-time winner Helio Castroneves (2001, 2002, 2009, 2021) and two-time winner Takuma Sato (2017, 2020), plus single winners Scott Dixon (2008), Ryan Hunter-Reay (2014), Alexander Rossi (2016) and Will Power (2018). The record for winners in one field is 10, set in 1992.

Castroneves earned a spot with A.J. Foyt, Al Unser and Rick Mears in the most prestigious club in motorsports – four-time winners of the Indianapolis 500 – with his emotional victory in 2021, for Meyer Shank Racing. A record-breaking fifth would put Castroneves alone at the top with most victories. Additionally, Castroneves is 49 years old, and a victory would make him the oldest winner in “500” history, a record held by Al Unser, who won the 1987 edition just five days shy of his 48th birthday.

Newgarden has a chance to become the first back-to-back winner since Castroneves accomplished the feat in 2001 and 2002. If Newgarden secures a repeat win, he will earn a bonus of $440,000 courtesy of BorgWarner, the namesake of the Indy 500 trophy. That amount is more than the entire yearly purse up to and including the 1962 Indianapolis 500, which paid out $425,652.

The field includes five past INDYCAR SERIES champions: Dixon, Hunter-Reay, Newgarden, reigning champion Alex Palou and Power.

2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson will attempt to become the fifth driver to complete the Memorial Day “double” of racing in the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the same day, joining John Andretti, Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon and Kurt Busch. The last driver to complete the feat was Busch in 2014.

Larson is one of seven drivers competing for top rookie honors, along with Marcus Armstrong, Tom Blomqvist, Linus Lundqvist, Christian Rasmussen, Nolan Siegel and Kyffin Simpson.

Live Race Day coverage begins on NBC, Peacock, Universo and the INDYCAR Radio Network at 11 a.m. (ET), with the green flag set for 12:45 p.m.

“At the start, I was able to make some spots early and we were really on it,” commented Tom Sheehan from victory lane. “The car fired off pretty good in the opening run. A little contact spun me. I got caught out just slightly and it was enough to send me around.”

“I really got back in it when the caution came out and got us back up to the field. The race came back to me and I seized the opportunity. We had a great car all day. It was a lot of fun.”

“The race pace was good, coming into the race with a good attitude made it all possible. The team stayed behind me and it all started making sense again. The car was great, and we’ve been having a great car week in and week out– bad luck and a bumpy start to the season has been hanging over me. It’s nice to have the monster off my back. This win is for the team, Jamie and Matt, the support from everyone at Mike Cope and bringing home this result for everybody, this is what it’s all about.”

“I’m looking forward to heading to Lime Rock. That is my home track, and it feels good to know that we will go there coming off an incredible win for me and the guys.”

2025 DAYTONA 500 Logo Unveiled

Logo pays tribute to iconic Harley J. Earl trophy presented to winner of The Great American Race

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 15, 2024) – Daytona International Speedway today unveiled the 2025 DAYTONA 500 logo, paying tribute to the design roots of speed as it features the iconic Harley J. Earl Trophy front and center.

Variations of Harley J. Earl awards were presented to DAYTONA 500 champions for decades. But it wasn’t until 1998 that the modern Harley J. Earl Trophy featuring Earl’s Firebird I concept automobile, hand-sculpted by artist John Lajba, atop a black trioval base was presented in Victory Lane.

The late NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt was the first to take home the trophy that pays homage to Harley J. Earl, a renowned automotive designer and the second commissioner of NASCAR.

“The DAYTONA 500 is not only NASCAR’s biggest race of the year, but also one of the most famous motorsports races in the world,” said Daytona International Speedway President Frank Kelleher. “By featuring the symbol of becoming a DAYTONA 500 champion, the Harley J. Earl Trophy, in the logo for the 67th running of The Great American Race, we blend the greatness of the race with the history of the sport.”

NASCAR will be back at Daytona International Speedway one more time in 2024, for one of the final opportunities for Cup Series drivers to clinch a spot in the Playoffs during the Coke Zero Sugar 400 weekend on Aug. 23-24.

Drivers in the NASCAR Xfinity Series will tackle the 2.5-mile trioval once again in the Wawa 250 powered by Coca-Cola on Friday, Aug. 23. Winward Racing, Ward and Ellis Secure Third IMSA WeatherTech GT Daytona Race Victory in Year’s First Four Races with Late Pass for the Win Sunday at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca

MONTEREY, California – Philip Ellis capitalized on the race leader’s late mistake with five minutes remaining to pull off a winning pass that secured the third IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona (GTD) victory of the season for the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 team Sunday at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Ellis, co-driver Russell Ward and the No. 57 team secured the three wins in the span of the year’s first four races and leave Laguna Seca a season-high 213 points ahead of the second-place competitors, 1,367 – 1,154, in the GTD driver championship standings. Winward’s GTD team championship margin is even larger with a 308-point advantage in first, 1,367 – 1,059, while Sunday’s success also boosts Mercedes-AMG’s points lead in the GTD manufacturer championship standings to a season-high 249 points, 1,457 – 1,208.

Winward’s previous victories were controlled and convincing wins in the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona in January and March’s 12 Hours of Sebring, but Sunday saw the Winward team on a different path to victory lane. Starting driver Ward qualified third and joined Ellis in rarely falling out of the top three throughout the two-hour and 40-minute race, but the No. 57 wasn’t the race pacesetter it was in sweeping the “36 Hours of Florida” at Daytona and Sebring.

Winward led one lap mid-race as the GTD field filed through pit stops, but the only true race laps up front were the final five circuits after the race leader momentarily tangled with a GTP competitor in the infield section of the 2.238-mile Monterey circuit. Ellis pounced on the opportunity and crossed the finish line with a 3.458-second margin of victory to seal a win that was the result of great pit work, race strategy and Winward’s renewed commitment to avoid mistakes this season.

Winward’s victory highlighted a solid weekend for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing competitors at Laguna Seca. The No. 32 Korthoff Preston Motorsports entry of Mike Skeen and Mikael Grenier made it a pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3s in the GTD top four with a fourth place showing.

The result followed the No. 32 team’s season-best third place finish last month at the Grand Prix of Long Beach, and Korthoff Preston and its drivers wrapped up this year’s two race California stretch with a pair of strong results and a renewed GTD championship campaign.

Skeen and Grenier have cracked the top five in the GTD driver championship standings with 1,033 points while the No. 32 ranks third with the same number of points in the GTD team championship.

Winward Racing also hit the podium in Saturday’s two-hour Michelin Pilot Challenge race with Russell Ward’s father Bryce Ward finishing third in the top-tier Grand Sport (GS) class with co-driver Daniel Morad in the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Opening driver Ward survived the frantic rush into Turn 1 at the race start to move into the top-10 in his opening-hour stint at the wheel. Morad took over for the final run to the finish, and after a well-executed pit stop by the Winward crew, rejoined the race just out of the top five.

From there, Morad turned in another charge to the front, passing some of the other top drivers in the series and moving to third with just eight laps to go. Time ran out before Morad could track down the top two, but the podium showing was the team’s second victory lane appearance this season after securing runner-up honors in the season-opening race at Daytona.

Ward, Morad and the No. 57 jumped from 11th to sixth in the GS driver and team championship standings, leaving Laguna Seca just 120 points out of first place with seven races remaining on the 2024 schedule.

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport customer teams in the WeatherTech GTD championship compete next in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, June 21 – 23, at Watkins Glen International in New York State. Competitors in Pilot Challenge are next in action as the headliner at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 7 – 9, in the year’s second and final four-hour race. Daytona was the year’s first four-hour contest.

Russell Ward, Driver – No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3: “It’s really awesome momentum from the group. In the morning before the recon laps we found a technical issue under the hood, and it was all hands-on deck, scrambling to change a part and pulling some major parts to get to it. We made it with a minute to spare, so another really awesome job by the guys to get that done right before the race. Really, just an amazing job by the team. The team is in really high spirits right now, we are going to keep that momentum going, keep everybody excited to be coming into work every day. We want to keep the streak going, the streak of finishes – not necessarily wins – but those are incredible, and we know we have a car that can win at every race track.”

Philip Ellis, Driver – No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3: “We were able to test at Laguna after Long Beach, so I would say we were sorted out a bit better than some of the other teams, but the conditions this weekend were so different that it was not like it was any huge benefit. The tire degradation on the old pavement that we thought would go away on the new surface came back, so we stuck with what we know, executed at our best and had other guys make mistakes for us. Team spirits are high, and that is the most important thing. If they don’t give us a good car and great pit stops, Russell and I can’t do a thing. Honestly, they make it easy for us to look good.”

Mike Skeen, Driver – No. 32 Korthoff Preston Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3: “I think Laguna Seca was pretty good to us. We didn’t have a chance to test there ahead of time, and it was a little bit tricky finding what we needed in two practice sessions to kind of catch up to everybody else. We were pretty happy with where we ended up with the car, it was a super tight qualifying session, and we were right there as far as pace. I had a nice shift, getting by a couple of guys and moving us up into a podium position in the first stint. Then Mik did a good job and it looked for awhile like we might secure a podium position, but it was still a good points day. We moved up in the championship with the fourth place and I think overall we can be pretty happy.”

Bryce Ward, Driver – No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4: “Russell and Philip gave us some really good pointers on what to do and what not do after they tested here, so right out of the box the car was really quick. The engineers really nailed it, it was fantastic and our Mercedes-AMG GT4 was great. I saw a really great opening on the outside of Turn 1 at the start, but I didn’t figure there would be so many marbles and gravel there. I lost a bunch of places but then got my head in the game, got a rhythm going, made a couple of great passes and turned it over to Daniel. I am just so excited, it was such a great race, I am on top of the world. IMSA has done a great job this year in not over-managing the competition and performance to let us all just race on track and the competition has been great. Everybody seems to have an opportunity to win. WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca also did a really good job getting the new pavement down. Everybody really, really enjoyed it, including us, so let’s give them a tip of the cap. It’s good to be out of Laguna Seca with a podium and looking forward. Onward and upward!”
