Toyota Racing – Christopher Bell
NASCAR Cup Series Quotes

POCONO, Penn. (July 21, 2023) – Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell was made available to media prior to practice for the NASCAR Cup Series event at the Pocono Raceway on Friday:

CHRISTOPHER BELL, No. 20 Yahoo Toyota Camry TRD, Joe Gibbs Racing

What do you look from last year’s results to help with this season?
“Pocono is one of the tracks that the notes from last year should corollate pretty well, because it is the second time here with the same package. That’s always rewarding. The Toyota cars got a slight body change over the offseason, so we will just have to compare notes to what we did at the other intermediates, but the intermediates have been good for us, so it is definitely a track that we can definitely perform well at. It’s always one that I look forward going to.”

How do you view the battle for the regular season championship after last weekend’s results?

“It’s definitely getting further out of sight that is for sure, but now it is just a matter of getting all we can. Whether that be second, third – whatever the case may be. We’ve had a couple of really – not a couple, several really poor finishes in a row here. It would be nice to get to the checkered flag without an incident. I think our performance is certainly capable of competing for it, but the way the last few weeks have gone, I don’t know if that is realistic anymore.”

On the accident last week, was that on you or something else?

“I was just trying to get too much and a mental mistake that cost me a bunch of points.”

Is doing the short-track test at Richmond going to provide any other information than it would have provided at New Hampshire?

“That’s a good question. Me, personally, I probably don’t care, but I know a lot of guys pushed against Richmond with the tracks that NASCAR brought up. In our meeting, a lot of guys said that Richmond probably isn’t the place to do it because tire wear is so big and there is a pretty big difference between good cars on long runs, and not good cars on long runs. They were worried that the cars would get a little more separated at Richmond than they would at a place with low tire derogation like a place like Loudon. It is interesting that Richmond was first on the list, and the driver’s kind of deterred against it and now that is where we are going.”

Does your previous success and test here give you more pressure going into this weekend?

“I would say yes, but looking at the last couple of races, Loudon is probably one of my best tracks and we didn’t get a good finish there. Certainly, I think every race track that we go to, we are capable of running well, and generally, we have been running well in the race – just not finishing well. Pocono is at least a place that typically gets a little more spread out. Restarts are always hectic here, but if we can just – I say we, but the last couple weeks have been on me, not we, it’s been on me – if I can just execute restarts and get in position to have a solid finish where I don’t have to overdrive the car, I think we will be alright. I’ve done a really bad job behind the wheel the last couple of weeks at the end of the races on closing them out.”

How do you feel about the Playoffs?

“Certainly, the Playoff schedule is really good for us. I think all of the tracks – minus Talladega, and I think a lot of drivers would be scared of Talladega to, but all of the tracks are really good for us, and the performance has been extremely well, and the cars have been really fast, but execution has really lacked and that is something that really scares me going into the Playoffs. We’ve got a month and a half here, six races or so to get it cleaned up, but if the Playoffs would be starting tomorrow, I would be worried about it.”

Does running the Truck Series give you any benefit for the Cup Series race?

“Pocono is a unique track and one that we only go to once a year, so I would say it would be a little bit beneficial. The cars and trucks are now so entirely different, so there is not a bunch that you can take back and forth, but definitely getting track time is not going to be an hinderance for sure.”

What are the challenges that Shane Van Gisbergen going to face at Indianapolis that he didn’t face at Chicago?

“I would say just the fact that we have all been there – I say we as the Cup group – for a number of years now. Lap one of the race track we are going to know roughly where our brake markers are, what the grip level is going to be at the different turns, so he is going to have to play catch up a little bit on the track knowledge. I’m sure he is going to have a bunch of simulator time that will prepare him for the visuals of it. I would expect that, by the end of the weekend, for him to not really have a disadvantage, but I would think at the start of practice, he’s going to have to learn the track a little more than the regulars will.”

Why did Pocono end up on your Truck Series schedule?

“Honestly, none from my standpoint. Matt Lucas at HRE (Hattori Racing Enterprises) contacted me earlier on in the season about making a couple of starts, and I said yeah, if it works out and you are able to do it, I would. North Wilkesboro was one that they really wanted to do, and it was a good one for me too, because no one had track time there. After North Wilkesboro, he mentioned Pocono, so I would say it was more on the team than me.”

Is there anything from the Truck Series Tundra that helps in the Next Gen car?

“One thing that is going to be interesting is track treatment that has not been put on this year, but as we saw last week in Loudon, it is still there from years and years past. It is definitely an advantage to see if that stuff comes in during the Truck race, how grippy it is, how wide it is, and what that looks like. Truck to Cup car – nothing in the car is going to translate, but track time, track conditions – that stuff will.”

Can you talk about your experience with Hattori in the Truck Series at North Wilkesboro?

“Certainly, getting back in the truck was really enjoyable at a very historic track. I thought that it was a decent run. We qualified somewhere in the back half of the top-10, practiced around the same place, so it seemed like the fifth-to-10th range was kind of where we stacked up at North Wilkesboro. Hopefully, we are a little more competitive this week, and it is a place that I’ve won before, but Kyle Busch Motorsports has a hand on for a long time now, so we are going to have to be proper if we want to win this weekend for sure.”

What do you need to do to be successful at Pocono?

“Pocono is always the same challenges, no matter if you are here in Truck, Xfinity Car, Gen 6 Cup car or a Next Gen Cup car. The tunnel turn is really tough, and just the differences with turn one being really banked, turn three being really flat and then both of them leading to really long straightaways. It is a big compromise of trying to get your car to do what it needs to do for the driver to be comfortable. Last year, the JGR (Joe Gibbs Racing) Camrys were really strong. I kind of found myself on the back half of the team with the 11 (Denny Hamlin) and the 18 (Kyle Busch) running really well, and I was a little bit behind them, but I think that, your car has to be really comfortable and stable at the speeds that you have here at Pocono, but it also has to turn really well, because if you are tight, you are not going to make any speed off of the corners. It’s a tough track that we generally see the guys who succeed here, they usually do well year-after-year and hopefully I can become one of those guys at some point.”

Do you view Pocono more as a road course or an oval from your perspective?

“Definitely the three corners being unique is nothing like any other oval that we have, but with the speeds being up, everyone classifies it as an intermediate. I think if you look at setup stuff, you are more looking at the mile-and-a-halves or a place like Michigan, Indianapolis oval – which we haven’t been yet in the Next Gen car – but those are the kind of tracks that relate more to Pocono than any road course, just because the speeds are down.”

Setbacks in Sardinia for Veloce Racing

After leading the Extreme E standings heading into the Island X Prix double-header, Veloce Racing left Sardinia third in the championship after a difficult weekend in Italy. Despite showing pace throughout, misfortune out on track ensured Kevin Hansen and Molly Taylor were unable to appear in a Grand Final in either Round. The British outfit, however, is just 14 points off the championship leaders, ACCIONA | SAINZ XE Team, going into the remaining four races of 2023.

After showing good pace in Free Practice, Veloce Racing were up against it immediately in Round 5 Qualifying after suffering a puncture in their initial Heat, ensuring they could only finish fourth. A race-long scrap in their Q2 Heat with X44 Vida Carbon Racing ensued, but third place was not enough which ensured a spot in the Redemption Race.

A victory there, just over a second ahead of NEOM McLaren Extreme E Team, secured valuable points for Hansen and Taylor heading into the following day’s racing.

It looked like there would be no stopping the team’s upward momentum after victory in their opening Qualifying Heat of the day in Round 6. However, hopes of a Grand Final appearance in Sardinia were dashed after finishing fifth on course in Heat 2 after incurring damage.

Veloce Racing missed out on the Grand Final thanks to No. 99 GMC Hummer EV Chip Ganassi Racing setting a quicker Continental Traction Challenge time, after being equal on points in the Qualifying classification standings.

Veloce Racing finished third on course in the resulting Redemption Race, but were promoted to second after penalties were applied to last year’s champions X44 Vida Carbon Racing. Seventh overall banked more points for the team while, in such a tight fight for the championship, that extra point for a Qualifying Heat victory in Round 6 could prove crucial prior to the remaining two X Prix of 2023.

Kevin Hansen, Veloce Racing, said: “We must regroup and review the weekend, because unfortunately we were unable to get the results that our pace deserved. There is a confident mood in the camp and we’re already looking forward to the next event.”

Molly Taylor, Veloce Racing, said: “We had the speed, and we know we have the team and car to fight at the front, but it didn’t all come together to win this weekend. Nevertheless, we have scored some solid points, the title fight is close, and we will come back stronger at the next one.”

Veloce Racing entered the Island X Prix as the pacesetters, having taken two wins and three podiums in Season 3 prior to Rounds 5 and 6 of the campaign.

Despite not reaching a Grand Final across the weekend, the team remains in touching distance of top spot just 14 points behind new leaders ACCIONA | SAINZ XE Team.

Daniel Bailey, CEO of Veloce Racing, said: “It’s about maximising your points haul when things don’t quite go your way, and we did exactly that. But for the puncture we believe we would have competed for honours again in the Grand Final in Round 5, but by winning the Redemption Race we have scored some important points in the overall race for the championship.

“On the second day we were unable to turn our speed into the right results. We have had a very good season so far and won’t let the challenges of this weekend distract us from our overall goals.”

After practicing inside the top five, Graf qualified his No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra 19th for the race. Methodically throughout the race, Graf was able to overcome some early race challenges and maneuver himself inside the top five and even led eight laps of the race.

Unfortunately, in the closing laps of the race, Graf was collected in a late-race accident which regulated him to a 29th-place finish.

Sneaker Mania: Along with the adrenaline of the Motorsports competition, Joe Graf Jr. also has a vogue for hype sneakers. In his current collection, he owns and wears at least 90 limited edition sneakers – and his collection continues to grow monthly.

Joe Graf Jr. Quoteboard:

On Pocono Raceway: “I’m excited to return to Pocono Raceway. I haven’t been to the track since 2021, but I feel really good about returning and contending for a strong finish with our No. 38 CoverSeal® Ford Mustang.

“I have not had the best luck in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, but I have a bunch of top-10 finishes in ARCA. They don’t call Pocono the “Tricky Triangle” for nothing, but its unique track characteristics and one I enjoy racing at.

“Last weekend at New Hampshire was a positive weekend for me and my career even though we did not have the finish we should have earned, but I’ll look to complete that with my RSS Racing team on Saturday afternoon.”

On The 2023 Season: “We started the year off really strong between RSS Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing, but unfortunately we’ve been on a rollercoaster throughout the season.

“I know we just have to survive this stretch of unique races which includes a street course, a hybrid superspeedway, a flat track, a fast track and another road course. Hopefully in-between all the different types of tracks we’ll find a rhythm that will allow us to continue to accelerate in a positive direction.

“I just need to continue to stay focused, communicate with my team and utilize the knowledge that I’ve gained over the past three years to recover and have my best Xfinity Series season yet.”

Jason Kitzmiller; A.L.L. Construction Racing Return to ARCA Action at Pocono Raceway

LONG POND, Pa.: Back on the ARCA Menards Series scene for the first time since Kansas Speedway in early May, veteran driver Jason Kitzmiller and his A.L.L. Construction Racing team invade Pocono (Pa.) Raceway for Friday afternoon’s Sunset Hill Shooting Range 150 hoping for a reset on their 2023 season.

Running a limited schedule in the ARCA Menards Series division has certainly presented the opportunity for Kitzmiller and his Todd Myers-led team, but with two DNFS (did not finish) at Talladega Superspeedway and Kansas Speedway, the North Carolina team is looking for a little luck at the “Tricky Triangle.”

“It is going to be nice to get back to the track this weekend at Pocono, I just hope we have a little luck to go with it,” said Kitzmiller.

“It’s unfortunate that we have had really fast race cars in our three races this season but have nothing to show for it.

“I understand that is the way it goes sometimes – but I really want to give our A.L.L. Construction Racing a complete race start to finish and have a strong finish so we can build on it for the rest of the season.”

Pocono Raceway’s unique 2.5-mile triangle may just be what the doctor ordered for the successful entrepreneur.

In three previous Pocono starts, Kitzmiller has one top-10 last summer and an average finish of 13.3. Anticipating to build off his ninth-place run last July, Kitzmiller is eager to deliver his first top-10 finish of the season and build on his prior experience in Long Pond.

“Pocono is a fun race track,” explained Kitzmiller. “There is not another track like it on the schedule. It has a short track, road course and superspeedway all blended together. It presents its challenges, but it also provides a sense of fulfillment as a race car driver with the opportunity to go fast and be competitive.

“I have learned a lot about Pocono since 2020 and I hope to be in contention to earn another top-10 finish on Friday afternoon.”

With a stacked ARCA Menards Series field on deck for the 10th race on the schedule, Kitzmiller hopes to showcase what he has learned in his 21st career ARCA start.

“The initial start and restarts are crucial at Pocono as well as balancing the tunnel turn,” added Kitzmiller. “Thankfully, I feel like I have one of the best spotters in the business in Tim Fedewa who spots for Kevin Harvick on Sundays in my corner.

“Timmy will keep me in check during the race, but he will also be my biggest asset in doing everything I can to better our most recent performances. I’m just ready to get back in the saddle and get to work on Friday.”

In addition to the ARCA Menards Series this season, A.L.L. Construction Racing will also participate in select Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour Series events.

“While we may not have had the results we wanted at this point in the year, we are still having a lot of fun,” sounded Kitzmiller. “I am hoping as we dive into the rest of the year, we can even have more fun and keep our race car near the front in both the CARS Tour and the ARCA Menards Series.

“I want to thank my team for their endless efforts of making sure we go to the track with a competitive race car and having a positive outlook. The atmosphere is always positively contagious at Pocono, so I cannot wait to get there and mingle with the fans this weekend.”

Following Pocono, Kitzmiller and his team anticipate returning to the ARCA competition at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, August 4, 2023.

Since 2020, Kitzmiller has 20 ARCA Menards Series starts to his credit with four top-10 finishes overall, including a career-best eighth-place finish twice at Talladega Superspeedway (April 2020) and Michigan International Speedway (August 2020) respectively.

The Sunset Hill Shooting Range 150 (60 laps | 150 miles) is the 10th of 20 races on the 2023 ARCA Menards Series schedule in the 71st consecutive ARCA season. Practice begins Friday, July 21 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. General Tire pole qualifying in a timed session will start a short time later at 12:30 p.m. The race is set to take the green flag later in the day shortly after 6:00 p.m. ET. The event will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM Satellite Radio (XM channel 391 | online channel 981) handling the radio waves. ARCARacing.com will also stream live timing and scoring throughout the entire weekend festivities.

AM Minute: Last weekend was another busy summer weekend for AM Racing.

In addition to the NASCAR Xfinity Series team being in action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, AM Racing’s ARCA Menards Series team was roaring in action at Iowa Speedway with driver Christian Rose.

In his ARCA debut at Iowa, Rose capitalized on his ninth-place qualifying effort aboard his No. 32 West Virginia Tourism | Secure Testing Services Ford Mustang to run as high as sixth during the 150-lap race before a tight race car regulated the West Virginia driver to a career-best seventh place finish in the ninth race of the 2023 season.

Iowa’s finish marked the fifth top-10 finish in the last six races for the Statesville, N.C.-based team.

This weekend at Pocono Raceway, AM Racing will field an entry in the ARCA Menards Series, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series respectively.

Thanks For Your Support: With more than 54 percent of the 2023 season complete, AM Racing and Brett Moffitt would like to thank their associate marketing partners for their support: AIRBOX Air Purifier, CForce Bottling Company, Concrete Supply, Destiny Homes, Flying Circle, Kreuz Market, Lane Frost Brand, Mechanix Wear and Mobil 1.

AMerican Heroes: NASCAR and its fans have always put Patriotism and American Pride at the forefront of every race weekend. That same passion runs just as deep at AM Racing, a team whose family lineage is deeply rooted in the Armed Forces and First Responders workforce.

We’re a team whose blood bleeds Red, White and Blue every day, which is why we are proud to launch, AMerican Heroes.

Continuing with Pocono Raceway this weekend, AM Racing will carry the AMerican Heroes livery, which will continue for the remainder of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series seasons.

The team will work to salute all the men and women, past and present, who truly deserve the title of Hero, every weekend.

Brett Moffitt Xfinity Series Pocono Raceway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s Explore The Pocono Mountains 225 will mark Moffitt’s fourth start at the 2.5-mile triangle.

In his previous three efforts, Moffitt has delivered one top-10, two top-15 finishes and three top-20 finishes. His track-best result occurred during the 2020 Pocono Green 200 when Moffitt steered to a seventh-place finish after starting 18th for Our Motorsports.

In addition to his previous three Xfinity Series races, the popular driver also has two NASCAR Cup Series starts at the Pennsylvania race track to coincide with four NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts in the Keystone State.

Brett Moffitt Xfinity Series Speedway Stats: At NASCAR Xfinity Series tracks classified as a speedway greater than 2.0 miles in length, Moffitt has made 20 starts throughout his career earning two top-five and six top-10 finishes. He also holds an average finishing position of 16.2.

Brett Moffitt NASCAR Xfinity Series Career Stats: In 102 career Xfinity Series starts, Moffitt has earned three top-five and 28 top-10 finishes, including a second-place outing at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in February 2021. During that tenure, he also holds an average finishing position of 17.4.

He earned a career-best Xfinity Series qualifying effort of fourth earlier this year at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway with AM Racing.

In addition to 101 Xfinity Series starts, he has achieved 45 NASCAR Cup Series and 92 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts to his credit.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway | Ambetter Health 200 Race Recap: In the most recent NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway, Brett Moffitt and the AM Racing chased their fifth top-10 finish of the season.

In their lone trip to the 1.054-mile speedway, Moffitt capitalized on his 12th-place qualifying effort aboard the No. 25 AM Technical Solutions Ford Mustang to hover inside the top-15 for a majority of the race.

An array of late-race cautions allowed Moffitt to contend for his fifth top-10 finish of the year and despite a last lap of chaos, Moffitt claimed ninth to capture his second top-10 finish in the last three races.

More importantly, Moffitt gained ground in his bid to capture one of the top-12 Playoff positions in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

In 18 races this season, Moffit has delivered one top-five, five top-10s, 12 top-15s, 13 top-20s and an average finish of 15.7.

He will be crew chief for his 117th NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Saturday and his fourth at the three-turn 2.5-mile triangle facility in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

Brett Moffitt Quoteboard:

On Pocono Raceway: “I am looking forward to Pocono Raceway this weekend. Our AM Racing team has some good momentum right now and I feel like Pocono presents the opportunity for us to steal a win from the regular players in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and throw our AM Racing team into the Playoffs.

“We’ve been solid the last several weeks and we know we need to be a little bit stronger, but with the Playoffs lurking, believe me, we are not going down without a fight.”

“Over the years, Pocono has been a pretty good race track to me and if we can dial in our No. 25 AM Technical Solutions Ford Mustang, we’ll be a player.

“Pocono is a fun place to race but is definitely a momentum track where handling and speed can be critical. The balance on our AM Racing cars has been strong over the last couple of weeks and I hope we’re in a place to earn another top-10 finish on Saturday night.”

On 2023 Season Outlook: “We have just past the halfway point of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series and I feel like we have a lot to be proud of. I believe as the season has marched on, our team has gotten stronger and I believe the results have showcased that.

“However, as the Playoffs are on the horizon, we are doing everything in our power to either point our way in or fight our way into Victory Lane so we can take up one of the coveted 12 spots and really bring some attention to our AM Racing team.”

7 Popular Small RV Floor Plans

Did you know that more than 11,000 people live in RVs across Los Angeles County? But many people are seeking small RV floor plans.

Smaller rigs are easier to handle, have better gas mileage, and have cheaper insurance costs. They cost less and are easier to park at your favorite locations.

Looking for a small RV floor plan? We’ve got you covered with a few of the best below.

1. Pop-up Camper/Tent Trailer

Pop-up camper/tent trailers are popular small RV floor plans.

They are designed with collapsible sides and a compact structure, offering plenty of living space without taking up too much space. These campers/tent trailers are open to reveal sleeping bunks, a kitchenette, and a cozy sitting area.

They usually line the walls and ceilings with canvas or vinyl, just like a traditional tent, and it can set them up in a matter of minutes. When choosing the perfect small RV floor plan, find the appropriate website with camper trailer rentals to book your holiday adventure.

2. Class A Motorhome

A popular small RV floor plan when it comes to Class A Motorhomes is the bunkhouse model. This model usually features two twin beds at the back of the Motorhome, which can provide extra sleeping space for friends and family. Bunk models also can come with one or two slide-outs that provide extra space for a comfortable seating and entertainment area.

Other RV features include a spacious galley kitchen, sofa sleeper, and a bathroom. These small floor plans are great options for those who need more sleeping space and a great way to experience RVing without needing to upgrade to the larger Motorhome. With these  RV options, travelers can enjoy the freedom that comes with exploring the open roads with their vehicle.

3. Class C Motorhome

Popular small RV floor plans for a Class C Motorhome include both overhead and “cab over” bunk beds, as well as a full-width living and bedroom area. This type of Motorhome is seen as an ideal option for those looking to enjoy their leisure travels without taking up too much space. Such RVs are between 22 and 32 feet long and include features such as sleeping and dining accommodations, a full bathroom and shower, and an equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, and refrigerator.

One significant benefit of these RVs is that they can fit in most campgrounds and fit in tight driveways and garage spaces. Additional floor plan features can include slide-outs to maximize interior space, an inflatable awning for protection from the weather, and pet-friendly layouts for those traveling with four-legged family members.

4. Travel Trailer

Travel trailer RVs are some of the most popular camping vehicles people use, especially when staying at places like Rockport, TX, where they can use RV Park Rockport. Small floor plans are both convenient and cost-efficient. The small travel trailer floor plans range from a simple 12-foot single-axle to a 21-foot tandem-axle.

The great thing about the agility of a smaller RV is that it can tow many more people than a mid-sized vehicle, allowing individuals to explore without needing a large truck. Also, these types of RVs are easy to park in many tight spaces, even in urban environments. With ample space to provide you with comfort, these small RV floor plans offer a cozy feel that larger vehicles can’t match.

And when you’re ready, the travel trailer camping experience often unfolds over just a few trips. Whether you’re a first-time traveler, a couple, a family, or a single adventurer, these small floor plans will provide you with a great RV camping adventure.

5. Fifth Wheel Trailer

A popular small RV floor plan for a fifth-wheel trailer is a two-bedroom layout. This type of floor plan is excellent for larger groups of friends and family. This allows them to spend quality time together without having to share the same space.

It can easily kit the primary bedroom out with a queen-size bed, and the second bedroom can fit a twin or full-size bed. The two bedrooms and the kitchen/living area will also share a shared bathroom. This type of floor plan is great for anywhere from two to four passengers.

Even when the trailer is filled with people, the open design of the living area allows for ample seating, conversation, and entertainment. It is a grand design for those who aren’t looking for a large RV and still want the ability to bring multiple people along.

6. Toy Hauler

The toy hauler floor plan, in particular, is ideal for anyone planning to bring their off-road vehicles, such as motorcycles or four-wheelers, while on their trip.
