Toyota Racing – Weekly Preview – 04.19.23

This Week in Motorsports: April 17-23, 2023

· NCS/NXS/ARCA: Talladega Superspeedway – April 22-23
· ARCA WEST: Kern County Raceway – April 22

PLANO, Texas (April 19, 2023) – It’s time for drafting and high speeds as NASCAR and ARCA teams take on Talladega Superspeedway this weekend.

NASCAR National Series – NCS | NXS

Bell off to strong start at superspeedways in 2023… Christopher Bell continues to lead the NASCAR Cup Series points heading into Talladega – the third superspeedway style event of the season – and Bell has been strong at both. At the season-opening Daytona 500, Bell led 20 laps and finished third, before also finishing third at Atlanta Motor Speedway last month.

Hamlin looks to add another superspeedway victory… Denny Hamlin has been the superspeedway master over the last decade with five total superspeedway wins at Talladega Superspeedway (2014, 2020) and Daytona International Speedway (2016, 2019, 2020). Hamlin led 14 laps and finished sixth at the most recent superspeedway race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Nemechek first time Xfinity Series points lead… With his second win of the season on Saturday, John Hunter Nemechek accomplished a first – as he took over the points lead in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the first time in his career. Nemechek is tied for the series lead in top-five finishes (four) and top-10’s (seven) in the first eight races of the season. His 6.6 average finish is top amongst all full-time competitors.

Nemechek, Smith battle for 100k… Nemechek and Sammy Smith will battle for two wins this weekend as they are both Dash 4 Cash eligible. Nemechek, who earned the $100,000 bonus with his win in Martinsville, and Smith will be competing against Cole Custer and Josh Berry for the bonus.

Four for the 24 in the next four… After five consecutive races with Connor Mosack in the No. 24 Toyota GR Supra entry fielded by Sam Hunt Racing, four different drivers are scheduled behind the wheel in the next four NASCAR Xfinity Series races. Parker Chase returns for his second start of the season this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, before Martinsville Truck Series winner Corey Heim makes his Xfinity Series debut in Dover. Tyler Reddick returns for his third start in the car in Darlington before Mosack’s return in Charlotte.

NASCAR Regional Series – ARCA | ARCA West

Gray makes superspeedway debut…Toyota development driver Taylor Gray will make his superspeedway debut aboard the No. 18 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing on Saturday. Gray, who became eligible to compete after turning 18 last month, has three ARCA victories and 33 top-10 finishes in 37 career starts.

Hingorani looking to add to his win tally… Sean Hingorani earned his first victory in ARCA competition at Irwindale Speedway earlier this month. With the victory, Hingorani moved into the top-10 in the ARCA West standings. The 16-year-old is making his track debut at Kern County Raceway.

Driver Quotes

“I am super excited to get back to Talladega and to have a brand new partner on the No. 1 Chevrolet with First Bank of Alabama. Last time we raced here we came so close and ended up just one spot short, but I have a lot of faith in my team to bring us a fast racecar and hopefully end up one spot better this time around. It would be great to celebrate in Victory Lane with this First Bank of Alabama group.” – Sam Mayer

“Anything can happen at Talladega. One minute you can be out front, and the next you are shuffled to the back of the pack. It’s definitely a place where you need to be on your toes at all times. Hopefully we can avoid any potential trouble out there and keep our Walmart Fight Hunger. Spark Change. Chevrolet clean all race long. We had a phenomenal speedway car earlier this season at Daytona and I know that Jim (Pohlman, crew chief) and all the guys on this No. 7 team will give me a car just as strong this weekend.” – Justin Allgaier

“We’ve been on a good run these past seven races, and Talladega is a place where you can finish well if you stay out of trouble. Our Tire Pros Chevrolet has certainly been last all season, and JR Motorsports builds really fast speedway cars. It’s another chance to earn the Dash 4 Cash bonus, and Taylor (Moyer) and our team are going to do whatever we can to win the race and the $100,000.” – Josh Berry

“Heading to Talladega this weekend and really anything can happen at any point. JR Motorsports always has fast speedway cars and this entire Menards/Turtle Wax team has been working hard to ensure that is true again this weekend. We had a great run last weekend and hopefully we can stay out of the mess this weekend and come out with another strong finish.” – Brandon Jones

● Preece is coming into his own this season, showing speed on a variety of the tracks and running up front during multiple events. He’s coming off a career weekend at Martinsville, where he earned his first Cup Series pole and led a race- and career-high 135 laps. Prior to Sunday’s race, he led a total of 29 laps in 123 Cup Series starts. Preece led all 80 laps of Stage 1 at Martinsville en route to his first career Cup Series stage win, then led the opening 55 laps of Stage 2. He earned 10 bonus points and one playoff point for his stage win. A pit road speeding penalty during Stage 2 sent Preece to the rear of the field, from where he battled back for a 15th-place finish on the .526-mile Martinsville paperclip-shaped oval.

● Preece hopes to ride the momentum from his Martinsville to the high banks of Talladega this weekend, where he has one top-five finish and two top-10s in six career Cup Series career starts with a best finish of third coming in his debut in 2019. In his lone NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Talladega, he started 26th and finished 15th for JD Motorsports in 2016. Last season, Preece made his first NASCAR Truck Series start at Talladega in the No. 17 David Gilliland Racing entry. He started 10th and finished fourth.

● Nine races into this season, Preece is 27th in the driver standings with 162 points.

● Preece kicked off the 2023 season with a strong showing during the non-points-paying Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where he led a race-high 43 laps of the feature and ultimately finished seventh after a fuel pump issue. In this year’s nine points-paying events, he has a best finish of 12th at Phoenix Raceway in March.

● Win a trip to the 2023 Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and meet Ryan Preece! RaceChoice.com, a proud partner of Preece, has launched a giveaway for fans. Ryan Preece, Driver of the No. 41 Hunt Brothers Pizza Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing:

You won your first career pole last weekend at Martinsville, won the first stage, and led the most laps of your career. Then you battled for a 15th-place finish after a speeding penalty sent you to the back of the field. How would you sum up your day?
“I sped off pit road, I guess. That ultimately cost us the track position. We had a really fast racecar, so once we got in the back it was so hard to do anything, so that’s on me. I’ll take blame for that. I was trying to beat them out and ultimately got snapped speeding. I pride myself on not making mistakes, so that was pretty brutal there, but, like I’ve said, we have a fast racecar and really felt like we could have probably swept the stages and ran top-three or top-five. We were just as good as anybody, but it’s really tough.”

Although it wasn’t the finish you hoped for, can you take anything from the strong showing you had at Martinsville?

“Yeah, I mean, it was nice to get the pole and be the fastest in qualifying. We weren’t the fastest during practice, but I knew we had a capable racecar. All the SHR cars were really fast during the qualifying session. So yeah, it was definitely a momentum builder for the team to start on the front row. Same thing with leading laps. It was great to lead laps. We have fast racecars, there’s no question about that. I say it every week and it’s true. I’ve been to these tracks before, it’s not like it’s my first time, but now I’m in equipment that best suits me and that I can get the job done in. We just need to put it all together and we’re getting there. I’m frustrated in myself but the clock resets and I’m headed down and focused on Talladega now.”

Your thoughts about racing at Talladega this weekend?
“Talladega is always fun but it’s also one of those tracks that you never know what’s going to happen. That’s the part of it that all the fans like, I guess. We’re going to go out there and do what we do every weekend. We want to be fast and qualify well, and then it’s just maintaining and staying out of the ‘Big One.’ If you can do that and be there at the end, there’s always a chance of taking home the win. That’s what our goal is. Consistency and being smart on the track so, yeah, I’m looking forward to the race.”

What’s it like being a driver at a track like Talladega?

“Your adrenaline is high, your emotions are high and you’re going 200 mph. Meanwhile you’re two, three-wide getting pushed in the pack from behind, there’s just a lot going on. It’s hard to explain to people how many thoughts and things you’re trying to keep track of as a driver when you’re racing at Talladega. Talladega and superspeedway racing have typically been pretty good for me. So, going into this weekend, we need to be aggressive because stage points with the current points system means so much but at the same time, we just have to have a good day.”

Talladega Advance
No. 4 Mobil 1 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing

Event Overview

● Event: GEICO 500 (Round 10 of 36)

● Time/Date: 3 p.m. EDT on Sunday, April 23

● Location: Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway

● Layout: 2.66-mile oval

Notes of Interest

● Kevin Harvick will make his 800th career NASCAR Cup Series start when he takes the green flag for Sunday’s GEICO 500 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. The driver of the No. 4 Mobil 1 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing will become just the 10th driver in NASCAR’s 75-year history to reach this milestone and, at age 47, the fifth-youngest driver to make 800 starts. He’ll join an impressive lineup that includes Richard Petty (1,185 starts), Ricky Rudd (906), Terry Labonte (890), Dave Marcis (883), Mark Martin (882), Kyle Petty (829), Bill Elliott (828), Darrell Waltrip (809) and Jeff Gordon (805). Harvick is on track to finish the year with 826 career starts, which would put him eighth all-time.

● If Harvick wins the GEICO 500, he’ll be just the second driver to win in their 800th start. The lone driver to accomplish this feat is none other than Richard Petty. “The King” won the CRC Chemicals 500 on Sept. 16, 1979 at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway. Harvick was three years old.

● What has Harvick done in his 799 NASCAR Cup Series starts prior to Talladega?

● He won the 2014 Cup Series championship.

● His 60 point-paying wins ranks 10th all-time.

● His 62 runner-up finishes ranks sixth all-time.

● His 248 top-five finishes ranks ninth all-time.

● His 435 top-10 finishes ranks fifth all-time.

● His 1,272 starts across NASCAR’s top-three series – Cup, Xfinity and Truck – is the most all-time (and 75 more than any other driver).

● His 121 wins across NASCAR’s top-three series ranks third all-time.

● Even after accumulating all of those accolades, Harvick remains hammer down. He is currently third in the championship standings, just 15 points behind leader Christopher Bell. He has three top-fives and five top-10s and in his most recent race last Sunday at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, Harvick led twice for 20 laps and won the second stage. He needs to lead only 36 more laps to hit 16,000 laps led in his career, a milestone that only 10 other drivers have surpassed.

● Harvick has made 44 NASCAR Cup Series starts at Talladega, collecting eight top-fives and 19 top-10s. Denny Hamlin leads the series with 10 top-fives at Talladega while Kurt Busch, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano are tied for the second-most top-fives with nine apiece. In the top-10 category, only Busch is ahead of Harvick with 22 top-10s.

● Atop Harvick’s NASCAR Cup Series stat box at Talladega is a win. Harvick came out the victor in a dogfight of a race at Talladega on April 25, 2010. There were an incredible 88 lead changes and three massive accidents that collected a total of 24 cars. Harvick kept his car intact throughout each bout of calamity and despite leading only two laps, the second lap led was the one that mattered most. Harvick got underneath race leader Jamie McMurray in the track’s tri-oval to sweep past him and take the win by just .011 of a second. It was the 12th of Harvick’s 60 career Cup Series wins.

● In addition to his 44 NASCAR Cup Series starts at Talladega, Harvick has eight NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, with a best result of second in April 2006.

● At Talladega in October 2018, Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) enjoyed one of its most dominant days ever. The team qualified 1-2-3-4 for the first time in its history. SHR drivers then led 155 of the race’s 193 laps (80.3 percent), including the last lap by Aric Almirola, who delivered SHR’s milestone 50th points-paying NASCAR Cup Series victory and the organization’s 11th win of the season.

● The Mobil 1 branding on Harvick’s No. 4 Ford Mustang goes more than skin deep as the world’s leading synthetic motor oil brand gives Harvick an added advantage. Mobil 1 products are used throughout his racecar and they extend beyond just engine oil. Power steering fluid, transmission fluid, gear oil and driveline lubricants from Mobil 1 give Harvick a technical advantage over his counterparts by reducing friction, heat and rolling resistance.Mobil 1 is a sponsor whose technology makes Harvick’s No. 4 Mobil 1 Ford Mustang faster.

Kevin Harvick, Driver of the No. 4 Mobil 1 Ford Mustang

Talladega marks your 800th career NASCAR Cup Series start, which puts you 10th all-time. When you first came into racing, did 100 starts even seem like a reality, never mind 800?

“Well, I didn’t even know if I’d get to one (laughs). When you think about 800 races and you try to put it into perspective, you really start adding the years up. It’s a really wide body of work, and I think that’s what I’m the most proud of. Through those 800 starts, it’s not like we started the year cashing checks and just riding around. We’ve been competitive, racing at the front of the pack, leading laps and having the chance to win races. For me, that’s the thing that I’m most proud of, and I think from your colleagues and people from other race teams, they see that body of work and being competitive across that long period of time. You hear it all the time, ‘I can’t believe they’ve been that competitive for that long.’ And to me, that’s the part I’m most proud of, being able to do this at a high level for such a long time. But wrapping your arms around 800 of them is, for me, quite an honor, just because of the fact that you’ve been able to adapt and adjust to so many things and stick around so long. But being competitive is still the thing that I enjoy the most. Getting to that number is great, but getting there and being competitive is better.”

What have you had to do to remain so competitive for so long at such a high level?

“I think I’ve taken pretty good care of myself throughout the years to make myself durable through all the travel and time and things you put into doing this. Being able to adapt and adjust to new things and new people, and being honest with people in situations, and sticking up for yourself when you think something’s right, and having those traits and the ability to have people who will accept those things because they know that you put a lot of thought and effort into what you’re doing. One thing I’ve been able to do well is figure out how to focus yourself when you really don’t want to do it, or you’re really frustrated, and being able to, when the switch turns on, ‘OK, today I might have a chance to win – we don’t have the fastest car, but how can I do all the little things right? If we can win with this piece of crap, people are going to notice.’ Or if we need to take this car today and it’s fast and you need to get your stuff together and focus on what you need to focus on. That stuff happens all the time during the week because there are a lot of days when you wake up in the morning, and I’m sure a lot of people can relate to this, ‘I wish I didn’t have to go to work today,’ or ‘I don’t want to be here today,’ then having that ability to climb in that car, turn all that off, and turn the competitive switch on. It’s something that I think I was just brought up that way. If you’re going to be here, you better figure it out and you better figure out how to flip that switch when you get in there. I don’t care how your day’s been or what’s going on, you need to figure it out while you’re in there because, in the end, it’s how you put food on the table.”

Is there any one particular thing that you’re most proud of in terms of your accomplishments?

“There are a lot of things that, in the beginning of my career, where you didn’t push the correct way – you pushed and yelled and screamed. Now, I’ve been here long enough that you have the respect of your competitors and the sanctioning body and things like that, and I think when you look at the safety stuff that’s happened over the last couple of years, just being involved in that. But I’m pro-driver, I love all the guys that I race against, I love the dynamic of the driver itself and being able to compete, but also being able to have a voice of who we are and what we do in our sport is something that I’ve always believed in and used. So I think off the racetrack, even from the standpoint of sometimes it is a show and sometimes you have to cause a little bit of a stink to keep your team relevant, and knowing when to push those buttons and cause the show and a little bit of chaos, it doesn’t ever hurt to grab those headlines when things aren’t going your way or you need to push something in a different direction. And I think we’ve always been fortunate to have a good feel for all that stuff. Outside the car is just as important as inside the car and how it affects the things that you do. You learn as you go.”

What are your expectations when it comes to racing Talladega?

“It’s one of those places where you want to race up front and race hard all day because you have to try to win stages. I believe you have better odds at the front of the pack when it comes to staying out of a wreck if you can keep that track position all day. You’re going to race in a pack – three-wide at times – and you’re going to get pushed and have to push at times. You just never know what’s going to happen because Talladega is its own animal. It’s hard to finish a race there. As we’ve seen over the past however many years, you try to put yourself in the right position and hope you have a little bit of luck on your side that particular day. I know our Mobil 1 Ford Mustang will be fast enough to contend for the win, but you just have to get to the finish.”

There are some physically demanding races on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule. Is Talladega mentally demanding?

“Superspeedway racing, in general, is just a mentally demanding situation because of the constant looking in the mirror and looking around and trying to keep the car going as fast as it can go and being aggressive and pushing and shoving and doing all the things it takes. There’s just a lot that you have to process from a mental standpoint, for sure.”

Describe the intensity of racing at Talladega.

“You have to be aggressive just for the fact that if you’re not aggressive, it always seems like you’re not going to be where you need to be. Nine times out of 10, the aggressor is going to be the guy who comes out on the good side of things just for the fact that you’re making things happen and you’re not waiting for something else to happen. When you wait for something else to happen, that’s usually when you get in trouble because it’s usually someone else’s mess. You can still get in trouble if you’re aggressive, but with the way things are, it’s best to stay aggressive and try to stay up front.”

Everything You Need to Know About BMW ECU Remapping

BMW has always been at the top of its game when it comes to performance, efficiency, and motoring innovation. Its diesel cars have topped the executive market, and its hybrid and electric cars offer an unrivaled range. But it’s the M-Division of cars we all turn to when looking for outright speed and motoring fun.

The naturally-aspirated M3 and M5 were the first to put out 100hp per litre of displacement. And it’s these two that have spurned a wide-fetching M-Division (albeit with the addition of turbocharging) to suit different tastes. The fact that all of them still have a lot to give, with simple remaps, makes them even more alluring.

What Is Remapping?

Remapping may not have the bling factor of new wheels or the bang of a revised exhaust, but it’s the performance added to your BMW with a simple rewriting of the software in the car’s ECU. This is done by connecting the car’s OBD port (the same connection used to diagnose engine and car faults) to an external computer and first scanning the engine’s preset software or ‘maps’. Individual parameters controlled by the ECU, like fuelling, timing, and boost pressure can then be changed with a simple BMW remap for a little more oomph.

Like all cars, BMWs won’t have their full performance potential on offer straight out of the factory (mainly to curb fuel consumption and emissions and prolong longevity). This though can all be modified (or the ECU remapped) for improved throttle response, better drivability, and what’s most important – bags of added power. While the enhancements will be more evident in something like the M2, M3, M4, M5, and XM cars, even basic diesels like the 116d with all its 116 hp on tap will see a substantial power gain and sip less fuel in the process.

Why Remap Your Car?

The obvious reason to remap your car factory ECU settings is to get more power. A remap can remove the limitations set by the manufacturer, and provide a car that has better power delivery, with a wider power band and torque where you need it. There’s better initial get-up-and-go, faster acceleration, and higher top speeds. Hard-revving cars can lose puff at the top end, and a remap can tailor power and torque to your driving habits and the road and weather conditions in which you typically drive.

Related performance, drivability, and throttle response improvements mean the car will be easier to drive, and significantly more fun. There’s also the choice of deleting speed limiters (rated at 155mph in the UK), an option worth considering if you use the car solely for track purposes. While most M-car owners aren’t particularly concerned about fuel use, a BMW remap can additionally cut down fuel consumption without sacrificing the benefits in the power departments.

How Is It Done?

Remapping your BMW is done in stages. Stage 1 usually means no additional parts are added, but there’s an increase in power and torque across a wider spread of the power band. This improves dead spots, meaning a more responsive car. The increase in torque will also mean less frequent gear changes, so additional savings in fuel. The car might however need a higher octane fuel, but the benefit is that the engine’s reliability isn’t impacted.

Stage 2 often involves having an aftermarket exhaust and uprated air intake previously installed. Other changes can include a catless downpipe and the removal of the OPF filter in petrol cars. This adds subtle to significant power gains over a stage 1 remap depending on the engine.

Stage 3 builds on the work done in the previous two stages with bigger fuel injectors and pumps to upgrade the fuelling, higher-rated spark plugs for improved combustion efficiency, and changes to the cams (with a performance camshaft, valves, and springs) for improved timing. More serious gains can be had by changing boost profiles in the turbo, expanding the rev ranges in twin-scroll turbos, the addition of a performance wastegate, and going for forged or billet internals.

BMW owners are advised to get their car tuned at respected garages and have a remap from a trusted brand that has put in the work and research for your model. Depending on the stage chosen, a BMW remap can last between a few minutes to an hour. There are also remote options available, meaning you can do the whole procedure from home, or where you see fit. These will take slightly longer and are often divided into sessions.

Comparative Examples

The previous gen F80 M3 is one of the most tuned cars in the UK. It’s powered by the S55 engine, a 3-litre inline six-cylinder petrol with twin-scroll turbos. Power output in stock form is 317 kW or 425hp in the standard car or 331kw in the Competition cars and the F82 M4 and F87 M2 that followed. All versions can go the extra mile, considering the work put into the die-cast aluminum alloy block, the closed-deck crankcase, coated cylinder walls, improved cooling, a lighter and hardened steel alloy crank, and the aluminum alloy pistons.

With a stage 1 remap, the car gets an additional 65-70 hp at the back wheels or rounds out to a hefty 500hp, with no additions required. There’s significantly improved acceleration, bringing the official 0-62mph time of 4.1 seconds down to 3.6 seconds (as tested in live sessions and on the dyno). The removal of the limiter gets the car to the equivalent of 175mph/280 km/h and is in line with the M-Drivers package that costs up to four times more (around 2000 pounds) than a stage 1.

Moving to stage 2 and the inclusion of catless pipes, the power numbers increase to 520 hp or 95 hp over stock figures. The car gets an extra push from a standstill and edges closer to 185mph or 297 kph. A stage 3 extracts all the S55 has to give. The package includes aftermarket turbos, beefier injectors, and better spark plugs for top speeds of over 190mph or 300 kph, and cuts down acceleration times by almost a second. Additionally, timing can be improved with a revised crank hub, and an aftermarket set of charge pipes improves airflow. You will need to pay for that level of performance though.

The same improvements can be had in older favorites like the E46 and E90 M3, the newer G80, as well as all M and XM cars. Stage 1 tunes and remaps are inexpensive for what they offer as they won’t require any revisions to the stock engine. The addition of parts will bump up prices in the following stages as they’re needed to provide the quoted power numbers, as well as help with engine longevity.

Final Word

Remapping software is one of the cheapest ways to get extra horsepower and torque in your BMW. Additional parts added in stage 2 and 3 remaps will open up the full potential of the car, and get you faster times around the track, and bucketloads of driving fun on the street.

Maintenance tips to make your car last many years

Photo by Tim Mossholder on Unsplash

As car owners, we want our vehicles to last as long as possible, providing reliable transportation for years. Regular maintenance is critical to ensuring the longevity of your car and avoiding costly repairs down the road. By following some simple maintenance tips, you can help extend the lifespan of your vehicle and keep it running smoothly.

Regular Oil Changes

Regular oil changes are one of your vehicle’s most critical maintenance tasks. Engine oil lubricates the engine components, reducing friction and preventing damage. Over time, oil can become dirty and lose effectiveness, leading to engine damage and reduced performance. Regular oil changes not only help your car last longer but can also improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, benefiting your vehicle and the environment.

Keep an Eye on Fluids

Fluids play a crucial role in the proper functioning of your vehicle. Besides engine oil, other essential fluids in your car include coolant, transmission, brake, and power steering. Regularly check these fluids and top them off as needed. If you notice any leaks or significant drops in fluid levels, address the issue promptly to prevent potential damage to your vehicle. Ignoring fluid leaks can lead to costly repairs and even car accidents. In case of a car accident due to a malfunction caused by a fluid leak, it’s essential to seek legal assistance from reputable Tampa car accident lawyers.

Rotate and Balance Tires

Regular tire maintenance, such as rotating and balancing your tires, can extend their lifespan and improve your car’s overall performance. Rotating tires helps distribute wear more evenly, reducing the risk of uneven tread wear and extending the life of your tires. Balancing tires helps maintain proper alignment, ensuring better handling and preventing premature wear. Regular tire maintenance can also improve fuel efficiency and save you money on costly tire replacements.

Check and Replace Filters

Filters in your vehicle, such as air, fuel, and cabin air filters, play a crucial role in keeping your car running smoothly. These filters prevent debris, dirt, and contaminants from entering your engine, fuel system, and cabin, ensuring optimal performance and clean air inside your vehicle. Checking and replacing these filters can help extend the lifespan of your car and prevent potential damage to the engine and other components.

Address Warning Lights Promptly

Modern vehicles have advanced diagnostic systems that monitor various components and systems for potential issues. When a problem is detected, warning lights on your dashboard will illuminate to alert you. Pay attention to these warning lights and address them promptly. Ignoring warning lights can lead to further damage to your vehicle and result in costly repairs. In some cases, ignoring warning lights can even lead to car accidents if the issue affects your vehicle’s performance or safety features. If you need clarification on the meaning of a warning light, it’s best to consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual or seek professional help from a qualified mechanic.

Follow Maintenance Schedule

Every vehicle comes with a manufacturer-recommended maintenance schedule that outlines the specific maintenance tasks and intervals for your vehicle. Following this schedule diligently is essential to ensure your car’s optimal performance and longevity. The maintenance schedule may include oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and spark plug replacements. By following the recommended maintenance schedule, you can catch potential issues early on and prevent them from becoming more significant problems, ultimately helping your car last many years.

Conclusion

In conclusion, proper and regular maintenance is crucial for making your car last many years. By following these maintenance tips, including frequent oil changes, keeping an eye on fluids, rotating and balancing tires, checking and replacing filters, addressing warning lights promptly, and following the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, you can extend the lifespan of your vehicle and avoid costly repairs. Additionally, seeking professional help from qualified mechanics or lawyers in case of any issues or accidents can further protect your investment and ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road.

What is the Theory Behind a Swing Bet in Horse Racing?

OkBet online casino and horse racing is a widely followed spectator activity in the Philippines, and betting on the outcome of races has long been ingrained in the local culture. Fans of horse racing often place a wager known as a “swinger bet.” All you need to know about putting a “swinger bet” on a horse race is covered here.

What is the Definition of a Swinger Bet?

With a OkBet Swinger bet, the bettor chooses two horses they believe will place first through third in a race. The order in which the horses finish is irrelevant as long as they both place in the top three. Your OkBet odds of winning are doubled by wagering on two horses instead of one. Nevertheless, the return for a winning wager is often less than that of other wagers with higher risks. Swing bets are common among horse racing fans looking for a low-risk betting strategy that yet has the potential to pay off handsomely.

How Does Swinging Bet Place in One?

Let us examine this illustration to see how a swinger bet works. Let’s pretend there are ten horses in the race, and you want to place a “swinger bet” on two of them. If you place a wager on Horses 1 and 2, both of them must finish in the top three. It doesn’t matter where they put it, as long as they’re in the top three.

You win the bet if Horse 1 finishes first and Horse 2 finishes second or third. If Horse 2 finishes first and Horse 1 finishes second or third, you will still win the bet. If both horses place in the top three, regardless of your anticipated order, you win the bet.

You lose the wager if none of the horses you picked comes in first, second, or third.

What to Look for When Picking Horses to “Swing Bet”

The recent form of the horses, the condition of the track, and the jockeys’ skill should all be considered when placing a swinger bet. Also, check the odds for each horse before making a wager since the reward for a successful stake will vary depending on the odds.

The Benefits of a Swing Wager

One of the best things about OkBet swinger bets is that they are a low-risk way to wager on horse races. The odds of winning a swinger bet are higher than those of other bets, such as win or place wagers, since the bettor only has to choose two horses to place in the top three.

Consequences of a Swinging Bet

The payoff on a swinger bet may be smaller than on a trifecta or superfecta, increasing the risk of a losing wager. The wager is also null and void if the selected horses are not placed in the top three.

Betting on a Coin Flip

The Philippine government keeps track of the states where horse racing betting is authorized. Different states and ways may have various betting regulations. You may place your wagers at the track, through licensed bookies, or at a reputable internet sportsbook.

Be a Responsible Player

Always gamble within your means, and only put up what you can afford to lose. Establish a betting limit and stay within it. You shouldn’t strive to get what you’ve already lost back. Knowing the warning signs of gambling addiction and seeking necessary assistance is also crucial.

Mahindra Tractors Racing: Chase Briscoe Talladega Advance

CHASE BRISCOE
Talladega Advance
No. 14 Mahindra Tractors Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing

Event Overview

● Event: GEICO 500 (Round 10 of 36)

● Time/Date: 3 p.m. EDT on Sunday, April 23

● Location: Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway

● Layout: 2.66-mile oval

● Laps/Miles: 188 laps/500 miles

● Stage Lengths: Stage 1: 60 laps / Stage 2: 60 laps / Final Stage: 68 laps

● TV/Radio: FOX / MRN / SiriusXM NASCAR Radio

Notes of Interest

● Chase Briscoe and the No. 14 Mahindra Tractors team for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) earned their second straight top-five finish last Sunday at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. The 28-year-old driver jumped to 14th in the NASCAR Cup Series driver standings after earning his best finish at the half-mile track, leading 109 laps earning valuable bonus points during the first two stages of the race.

● Now the No. 14 team heads to Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, the largest oval on the NASCAR circuit, with a special Mahindra Tractors scheme carrying the theme “You Old Goat,” en hommage to team co-owner Tony Stewart. Over the last two years, the three-time Cup Series champion has shared the spotlight with his driver in Mahindra’s national TV spots, and Briscoe typically has been on the receiving end of Stewart’s jokes. While Briscoe has been known to get in his jabs at the boss, he decided to take it a step further with a scheme designed to show “Smoke” who is really in charge.

● Stewart will get to enjoy his last venture of the 2023 season in the FOX broadcast booth with a magnificent view of the No. 14 Mahindra Tractors “You Old Goat” Ford Mustang circling the track, featuring his own likeness smiling back at him while clad in a red bath robe from the side of the racecar.

● The ultimate payback would be Briscoe hauling Stewart’s fan mail all the way to victory lane on Sunday. It’s the breakthrough run he’s looking for after one top-10 finish in four Cup Series starts at Talladega, and one top-five result in four Xfinity Series starts at the 2.66-mile oval.

Chase Briscoe, Driver of the No. 14 Mahindra Tractors Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing:

Where did the idea for this paint scheme come from?

“We all know Tony has done some great things on track, and he was given a lot of opportunities to pick on me a little in all the Mahindra commercials we’ve done, so I really wanted the chance to get back at him a little. He’s a prankster and his brain is always working, always finding a way to make a joke about something, and I felt like this was the perfect way to give him a taste of his own medicine. And it’ll be nice that he gets to watch me drive around Talladega in his car with his face on the side of it.”

By now, we all know who the “Old Goat” is. Where did that line come from?

“We were filming one of the first Mahindra Tractors commercials and there was a moment where we were going back and forth with each other. The director told me to call him an old goat and I thought it was so strange. I didn’t think there was any way it would be used, it’s just not something I would normally say, but that’s the line they used and it’s stuck. I’ll be at the track, and fans come up talking about the commercials and Tony being an old goat.”

The scheme is a great way to highlight Tony and his personality and yours. But when it comes to the racing we’ve seen lately, you’ve really seemed to hit your stride. Are we seeing a turnaround for the No. 14 team?

“I think short tracks have been our strong suit the last few years, so it’s not surprising, but I do think we’re finding some things. It makes the timing of getting to run this scheme that much better. It gives us a chance to have fun while staying committed to doing well and focused on what we’ve got to do on track. We’ve had some good races and really pushed through a lot the last few weeks. Now we can go to Talladega, where it’s going to be nonstop hard racing, and do our best to stay out of trouble and maybe take Tony to victory lane.”
