Inaugural GTP Rolex 24 Goes Green on Saturday

The No. 10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-06 Starts Third for the 61st Running of the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA.

(Daytona Beach, Fla.) January 25, 2023 — The No. 10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-06 team and a champion driver lineup hailing from all corners of the globe, consisting of Ricky Taylor, Filipe Albuquerque, Louis Delétraz and Brendon Hartley, is poised to take on the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA this weekend. The blue and black team is chasing their fifth win in the last seven attempts, and a record-tying sixth overall win. The Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport (WTRAndretti) will start third for the historic endurance battle around Daytona International Speedway’s 3.56-mile, 12-turn road course circuit.

Practice for the Rolex 24 starts on January 26th, with the green flag for the legendary endurance race waving on the 28th at 1:40 p.m. Live coverage is available on Peacock for the full 24-hour cycle, alternate coverage on USA Network, and the final hours and victory celebrations available on NBC starting at 12:00 p.m. ET on the 29th.

“The WTRAndretti team has been really working well this month,” said two-time IMSA Champion Ricky Taylor. “Brendon, Louis, Filipe and I are all getting along—spending time together at the track and away. We are confident in the car and proud of all the development work by our No. 10 Konica Minolta crew, HPD, Acura and Oreca. All that is left is some preparation for the race through practice and we should be one of the cars to beat.”

“I just can’t wait to get the weekend started,” said 2020 Rolex 24 winner Filipe Albuquerque. “We arrived in Daytona a week ago and there’s been a lot of preparation. We love what we do, and we know what to do, This new car is so enjoyable to drive. I just want to drive more and more and more, so I can’t wait for the race weekend to get underway. We’re starting third which is very good, so bring on the race!”

“I’m extremely excited to get my first Rolex 24 going with the team and in GTP—the top class,” said reigning ELMS Champion Louis Delétraz. “So far the car has been fantastic and the No. 10 Konica Minolta team, HPD and Acura have been working so hard throughout the last few months to get the car ready and make it as good as it is. We have a lot of work ahead still and the 24 hours will be a challenge, but I can’t wait to get back in the car and get started.”

“It’s been a really positive Roar and qualifying,” said reigning WEC Champion Brendon Hartley.” We have all gotten up to speed and are happy with the balance of the car. Our team chemistry is brilliant, and I’m proud of all the hard work everyone has put in. It’s now all about fine tuning before the race and preparing driver change procedures, etc. We feel ready.”

“I’m happy the guys have done a great job getting us here,” said winning driver and six-time Rolex 24 winner, Wayne Taylor. “HPD, Acura, Oreca and all of our partners have done a great job getting the car ready. This will be the first race for our new partnership with Andretti Autosport. Both MSR and ourselves are competitive. Th whole grid is competitive really. It’s going to come down to strategy and reliability. Many things are out of our hands, but we are going to control what we can control. There are new tires, and a smaller allotment of tires this year so that will play a big role. There’s going to be lots of questions, but I believe that we have the best driver lineup and the best partners. I can’t wait for the race.”

Wright Motorsports 1st Phorm Porsche Poised and Ready to Defend Rolex 24 Win

NEXT UP: IMSA ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA
DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY | JANUARY 26-29

DAYTONA, Fla., (January 25, 2023) – The Rolex 24 At Daytona has arrived with Wright Motorsports and the No. 16 1st Phorm Porsche entering the week armed and ready to defend the team’s 2022 win in the GTD class. Last week, the team completed the Roar Before the 24, conducting the first shakedown of the new Porsche 911 GT3 R (type 992) at Daytona International Speedway. With official testing complete, race week activities begin, and thus the assault on the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship title and the top honors in the iconic endurance event, January 28 – 29.

“Our win last season is the perfect motivation entering into this year’s Rolex 24 and the 2023 championship,” said Team Owner John Wright. “All the pieces and all the hard work came together, and we proved that Wright Motorsports has what it takes to win. The 1st Phorm Porsche finished the Roar as the top Porsche but we still have some work to do in the upcoming days to keep making gains on the rest of the field. We’re feeling good heading into this weekend, and we’re excited to be back.”

Ryan Hardwick, Jan Heylen, and Zacharie Robichon have returned to defend last year’s win, this time joined by Intercontinental GT Challenge champion Dennis Olsen. The 26-year-old finished the 2022 Rolex 24 in third, racing a Porsche in the GTD Pro class.

The present-day field of entrants has yielded nine new Porsche 911 GT3 R race cars, which were delivered to teams at the end of 2022. While programs may have conducted private tests leading up to the start of the new season, last week’s Roar Before the 24 brought all the new entries together for several days of on-track shakedowns. The drivers noted an increase in the car’s drivability, as well as more efficient aerodynamics and torque. Both were key targets of Porsche when the newest iteration of the iconic 911 racer was designed.

Unofficially, the No. 16 1st Phorm Porsche will start the race from 13th place in the GTD class, one of five classes competing in the event. The GTP, LMP2, and LMP3 classes consist of varying types of prototypes while the GTD Pro and GTD classes strictly run with machinery based off of street cars from the world’s leading manufacturers. The GTD Pro class features all-professional driver lineups, while the GTD class driver lineups offer a mixture of professional and amateur-ranked lineups. The GTD class is the biggest run group, making up 40 percent of the 61-car field.

Activities for the Rolex 24 At Daytona will begin on Thursday, January 26 with the first of five practice sessions in two days. The start of the 61st Rolex 24 at Daytona begins at 1:40 PM Eastern on Saturday, January 28, concluding exactly 24 hours later on Sunday afternoon. The broadcast will air live from the wave of the green flag to the drop of the checkered flag on Peacock, NBC Universal’s streaming platform. The first hour of the race will also air live on NBC before switching to the USA Network. IMSA Radio will offer live coverage worldwide without brakes on imsaradio.com. For all event information, follow the team on social media or visit wright motorsports.com or imsa.com.

Ryan Hardwick

I’m really looking forward to returning to the Rolex 24 with my Wright Motorsports team and teammates. Winning the race last year was truly one of the most special moments of my life. Experiencing something like that just leaves you yearning for more, so that is our focus going into this race. The Roar was a bit of a head scratcher for us. The BOP that was given to the Porsches had us all between three and four seconds off the pace of the other GTD cars, so we have our work cut out for us at a track that is so dependent on top speed. But if anyone can overcome challenges like these, it is our team. We will be ready to go to battle for 24 hours come race day.

Jan Heylen

I’m excited to be back and I am really looking forward to next week. We’re obviously coming off a strong season last year but it’s a new year, and a new car. It’s nice to be here with the same team while we learn all there is to learn about this new car. This is my favorite event, so I’m really happy to be back and can’t wait to get started.

Zacharie Robichon

Going into the race, we’ve been working very hard on the car to try and understand this new platform and finding the best way to exploit the speed out of it. Obviously at this point, there’s certain things out of our control, that may be hindering our performance. That being said, our job is to get the most out of the package we have and we’re checking all our boxes. We’re making steps to best understanding these new 911 GT3 R Porsches, and we’re looking forward to improving from where we started, as we have been.

Dennis Olsen

The Roar Before the 24 and qualifying is done. We expected to be a little bit further up the field, but we’re working hard with the car and the team is doing a good job. It seems like the other manufacturers have a bit of an edge on the straight-line speed. Hopefully we’ll get some help there from the series organizers and we can be able to fight for the win. It has been nice to get started with the new car, and it’s definitely a huge challenge. We’re doing a lot of different things to understand the package best. We have a great team around us to do the right things, and I’m looking forward to the race. I think we will have a great chance.

Season 2 champions X44 Vida Carbon Racing claim Extreme E Sustainability Award

X44 Vida Carbon Racing have taken the win in the 2022 Extreme E Count Us In Challenge, claiming the Extreme E Sustainability Award for a second consecutive year.

25 January 2023, London: Sir Lewis Hamilton’s team, which also claimed its first Extreme E Championship title in Season 2, achieved a double award winning season by finishing 2022 with the highest number of sustainability steps pledged by its fans in the Count Us In Challenge. They were followed by the XITE ENERGY Racing and NEOM McLaren Extreme E teams in second and third, respectively.

Count Us In’s campaign aims to use the power of sport, as well as the excitement of racing, to inspire fans to take practical steps on climate change. It creates a simple way for people to reduce their carbon footprint, asking fans to pledge behaviours that are not only more climate friendly, but also challenge governments, cities and businesses to accelerate progress on climate action.

Some of these steps include volunteering, cutting food waste, writing to politicians, and even changing to an electric vehicle if they are in the process of buying a new car. Count Us In’s Extreme E challenge has led to an impressive impact so far, with almost three million KG of CO2 potentially being saved and 8,391 fans getting involved.

Each pledge in the challenge is then attributed to the fans’ favourite team, and the outfit with the most steps at the end of the season lifts the trophy, with over 30% of steps pledged this year coming from X44 Vida Carbon Racing fans.

This initiative has allowed the series to bring its climate change goals to fan level, using the campaign to get more people involved in protecting the planet and in the series. The goal of these actions is to show that committing to small lifestyle changes, like eating more plant-based foods, walking and cycling more, and reducing energy consumption at home, can have a huge, positive impact when multiplied on a global level.

Alejandro Agag, Founder and CEO of Extreme E, said: “Sport is an incredible platform to not only raise awareness of the climate crisis but to also inspire action against it.

“It is fantastic to see our teams and our fans getting involved in protecting our futures. At Extreme E, we will continue to shine a spotlight on the issues we are all facing on a global scale to push the boundaries of sustainable solutions.”

Cristina Gutiérrez, X44 Vida Carbon Racing Driver said: “We are so happy that on top of our championship win last season, we have also won the Count Us In Sustainability Award for a second year in a row.

“Thank you to all the X44 Vida Carbon fans who continue to support us and who have made pledges to protect the future of our planet. Together, our small steps will make a big difference.”

In 2023, Extreme E will continue to race across the world’s most remote environments to demonstrate the performance and benefits of electric vehicles and clean technology, whilst highlighting the impact that climate change is already having on these ecosystems, such as melting ice caps, deforestation, desertification, retreating mountain glaciers, and rising sea levels.

The sport for purpose championship continues on its voyage, kicking off their Season 3 on March 11-12 in NEOM, Saudi Arabia.

BRODY ROA TEAMS WITH TOMMY AND CHRISTY DUNKEL FOR THE 2023 SPRINT CAR SEASON

Left to right: Joe Gobb, crew chief Zac Bozanich, Brody Roa and Brett Roa after a 2022 Perris win. Doug Allen photo.

(Cypress, CA, January 24, 2023) When the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars Series kicks off its 24th season of racing at Brad Whitfield’s Cocopah Speedway this Friday and Saturday, January 27th and 28th, longtime fans are going to be in for a big surprise. When the first green flag flies to begin the new campaign, veteran racer Brody Roa will not be in his familiar bright green #91R. For 2023, Roa’s BR Performance is joining forces with Tom and Christy Dunkel and he will steer a white #17R throughout the year.

Last year Roa, who turns 32 years old on Wednesday, freelanced during the season. The pleasant driver started 37 races on 18 different tracks in four different states. He competed in five different types of cars in seven different sanctioning bodies. Right now for 2023, his plans include the entire 27-race USAC/CRA schedule and four open competition races at the Imperial Valley Raceway. He may also make some starts in the USAC/West Coast Sprint Car Series. Initially, Roa was going to do the usual and race his own car in CRA. And he was going to run as a teammate to Dunkel in the West Coast Series. However, while breaking bread with the Dunkel’s a couple of weeks ago, a drastic change took place.

“We went to dinner about a week and a half ago under the impression we were going to talk about the 360 races I was going to run for them,” Roa said on Sunday night. “I threw something out to them about doing something with the 410 stuff. Him and Christy went back and talked about it. It ended up that they now have the 410s HD (HD Industries) used to have. We are going to run a Tom & Christy Dunkel/Inland Rigging/BR Performance Race Team this year. We just bought a brand new DRC. We got that two weeks ago or maybe less than that. We just finished that up last Wednesday night. We are going to fire it up tomorrow. We sold our Eagles and we have our trailer up for sale. Kind of big changes. I am very excited to represent Tom, Christy, and Inland Rigging running in the new #17R.”

“Man, this is huge,” said car owner Tommy Dunkel who is just as excited as Roa. “Just kind of hearing it out loud for the first time from you, kind of gives me goosebumps. It is a major deal for me. I have grown up watching Major League Sprint Car Racing at Perris my entire life. To be able to be a part of it in our capacity leading up to this year with Brody and a few other drivers has been huge. Now to step things up a bit and become a major player in Brody’s operation is going to be great. To team up with guys like them, who are so good and nice guys in the pits, but they come out swinging every weekend. That is kind of my style. I like to show up and try to win and have nice equipment. Those guys are at the top of their league. To team up with them is really major for me. We are really excited about it.”

“The opportunity just presented itself pretty well.” Dunkel continued. “Brody has always been a great guy to work with. He has been running with Inland Rigging on his car for a handful of years now. He is always a class act. Him, his dad Brett, Zac (crew chief Zac Bozanich), and that whole camp are a great group of guys. They are competitive and they are a force to be reckoned with every Saturday night. That is something I like to be a part of.”

Up until now, the offseason has been anything but normal for Roa and his team. In late December, fans and fellow competitors noticed quite a bit of his equipment up for sale. There were queries wondering if the Garden Grove, California racing star was going to hang up his helmet. The questions intensified earlier in January when his trailer went up for sale. However, to everyone’s relief, he is back and ready for another successful season.

“We sold a chassis & body and a complete roller,” the fan-friendly driver said.” “We put a new DRC together with everything from the chassis we sold. We are basically keeping like one spare of everything. Other than that, everything is up for sale. We have probably got enough to build like 6 cars with everything we have back at the shop besides the big stuff. We have small components we probably had stashed away in that shop for 10 years. We definitely have not sold everything yet.”

The fact that he is switching from an Eagle chassis to a DRC is going to surprise a lot of people. Not competing on the full USAC/CRA schedule in 2022, Roa steered the Eagle to a pair of wins and six top-five finishes. And he finished sixth in the championship point standings despite missing a significant amount of races. Still, he felt he wanted to change.

“I have never driven a DRC before,” Roa confided. “Honestly, it just seems like it is the car that everybody is doing non-wing stuff in right now. I called Ronnie Gardner who works there. I am pretty good friends with Ronnie. I’ve talked to him about it a bit and then Joe Devin, who builds the DRCs, called me. We talked on the phone for probably at least a half an hour. It was pretty cool and that probably helped the decision. Mainly to get back to something that everybody is doing. Everybody has got notes and everybody has parts (for DRC’s). At this point, I think we know what we are doing, but If we get really lost at least there are people we can bounce ideas off of.”

As in the past, Roa will continue to use powerful Shaver Engines.

As always, when the driver known as “The Pride of Garden Grove” has an off week from his local racing commitments, he would be happy to talk with any car owners who desire his services behind the wheel (Roa’s 2023 schedule is listed below).

Roa is very grateful and wanted to be sure to thank departing sponsor HD Industries for years of dedicated support on his #91R car.

“HD has given us so much over the last ten years,” Roa said. “They have been on the side of the car and a huge part of our program for so many years. Without them, we never would have achieved the successes we accomplished. I will always be thankful to Mike, Jim, and HD.”

“I would also like to thank family and friends who are part of our racing effort,” Roa said. “My family Tailor and Addison, parents Brett and Eden, Uncle B, Joe, Zac, Tyler, Tracy, and looking forward to joining family teams with Tom, Christy, and Ava Dunkel.”

Friday and Saturday’s races at Cocopah Speedway – aka “The Diamond in the Desert,” – will be full programs with qualifying, heats, and main events. For fans who would like to attend this weekend’s doubleheader, spectator gates will open at 4:00 p.m. each day with hot laps at 5:30. Qualifying and racing will follow. In addition to the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars, the IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA Sport Compacts and mod lights will also be in action. The speedway is located at 3450 W. County 15th Street in Somerton, Arizona (85350). The office phone is 602-292-7607 and the website is http://www.racecocopahspeedway.com/.

For those who cannot make the trek to the “Copper State” track, both nights will be available on pay-per-view at the following link https://speedsport.tv/.

The team wants to thank the following sponsors for making the 2023 season possible. Inland Rigging, Dunkel Farms, United Asset Sales, Osborne Speed & Machine, Sander Engineering, “Biker” Bruce Fischer, ALR Virtual Services, Burris Racing, Caltrol, Competition Suspension, K-1 Race Gear, Molecule, Rod End Supply, Driven Racing Oil, Baldwin Filters, and NGK Spark Plugs.

Exploring Jeddah during F1 Grand Prix 2023

Photo by Brian McCall on Unsplash

Saudi Arabia has created all the conditions for holding Formula 1 races and is gaining its trust. Especially in the plans to develop a kind of hub for world motorsports in their country. Thus, there is hope that a lot of Formula 1 teams will go to Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Grand Prix 2023.

The new era

Formula 1 has entered a new era of regulations with innovative cars designed for more competitive races. As F1 management intends to make tires more durable in the future, the maximum number of sets of tires will be reduced from 13 to 11 during the two Grands Prix. Also, provided the weather is sunny during these Grands Prix, the teams will be obliged to use hard tires in the first qualifying segment, medium in the second, and soft in the third. Normally, teams have the right to choose the type of tires they use themselves.

Pirelli has announced changes to the available tires for the 2023 Grand Prix season. A new type of tire will be created, which is listed between C1 (hard) and C2 (medium) in terms of characteristics. The changes will allow teams to use a more flexible strategy, as the C1 tires have been criticized for a significant difference in grip.

Peculiarities of Formula 1 races in Jeddah

Saudi Arabia hosted Formula 1 for the first time in 2021 on the urban track located on the coast of the Red Sea in the port city of Jeddah. If you have the intention to buy F1 tickets to Jeddah Grand Prix, you’d better hurry up, as it is one of the unique events in the F1 series!

The climate of Jeddah is hotly deserted and somewhat softened by its coastal location. Rainfall in Jeddah is sporadic and only occurs during the winter months. Frequent winds, sand storms, dust fogs, high humidity, as well as heat make the climate of the city difficult for a person who is used to more continental types.

So self-preparation for competitions plays an important role in a pilot’s life. They try to do sports and keep themselves in shape.

Preparation for Grand Prix races

Because racing is a very physically exhausting sport, Formula 1 pilots are great athletes. Driving a car on the track is not easy, and it is very hard work. For example, braking: in order to enter a corner correctly, you have to squeeze the pedal as if you were lifting 140 kg of iron. During the Grand Prix race, this will have to be repeated at least 63 times. That is, for all the races to lift about 60 tons, and this is only one of the loads.

Neck muscles which are constantly stressed due to the small travel of the suspension, feel any unevenness on the track very much and have to withstand the high temperature in the car.

Pilots have to drive in all kinds of weather in tight fireproof suits, sitting millimeters from a ton of red-hot iron. Of course, the ability to drive a car is not an integral part of the sport, but the good physical shape does not hurt. It affects especially at the final stage when exhaustion reaches the limit at such moments. Those who are less prepared will fall behind and lose vigilance.

Therefore, most of the work is done in the off-season as soon as the competition schedule is received. Then they pay a lot of attention to maintenance because there are constant races. But not only physical exercises help to be in shape. A good diet is an essential tool in modern sports, on which the results of races depend. All pilots are different in weight, height, and body shape. Although the pilots eat together with the team, some have individual meals. The food menu is diverse before and after the race, so it should be flexible. A lot of time is paid attention to this, but still, unlike other athletes, pilots cannot fully adapt to the conditions of the race.

Preparing yourself to visit Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia opens its borders to foreigners. The country has an incredible number of places that you can enjoy while traveling. Its culture and customs are definitely worthy of your attention. However, if you want to visit this unique Kingdom, you must remember the accepted rules of behavior in Islamic society.

When you arrive in the country, you have to immediately follow their rules and laws. For example, drinking alcohol. When you are at the hotel, of course, there can be an exception, but not in public. Another crucial rule refers to dressing. You should always look modest, no shorts for men, and always covered shoulders and knees for women. It is also recommended that women cover their heads. When you are a tourist, you start taking pictures of everything. And do not tell us you don’t do that! Even though in Saudi Arabia, you have to be really careful with it and do not take any photos without people who are in the shot giving you permission for that. Another thing that may impact you indirectly is the working hours for shops, restaurants, and cafes. Remember that people in Islamic countries pray about 5 times a day, so everything is closed every time they go pray.

Exploring the country during the Jeddah Grand Prix 2023

When you decide to explore the area, Uber is a great option to commute, as it is relatively cheap and has no language barriers. We’d definitely recommend you discover Al Balad and learn more about the traditional life in Saudi Arabia. There you may explore Souq Al Alawi and other traditional markets, museums, and the Al Rahma Mosque.

You should also try regular shopping at Jeddah malls, like Red Sea Mall, the Mall of Arabia, and Serafi Mega Mall. And, of course, the Corniche. Take a walk there, going from the Al Rahma Mosque to King Fahd’s Fountain. You may also take a boat trip, take a pilgrimage to Mecca, and visit Moon Mountain landscapes and Taif city. So much to explore!

When do border collie dogs shed

Photo by Lukas Ruzicka on Unsplash

Introduction

While it’s unlikely that you’ll need a full-length article on when do border collie dogs shed, I’m willing to write one for you. I just want to make sure we’re all on the same page here—I don’t want any confusion or surprises later on down the road. So let’s get started and get this ball rolling!

Spring coat

  • Spring is a time of renewal when the earth bursts with new life and all things are bright and fresh. And yet for border collie owners the spring coat can be anything but. The warmer weather means an increased shedding period for your four-legged friend.
  • As much as you love your dog during their winter coat, you’re probably even more in love with their summer one—the softer texture and lighter color make them seem so much more fun to play with! But it comes at a cost: this light-feeling fur tends to tangle more easily than its winter counterpart (and if they get tangled up too much they won’t be able to go out on walks), plus there are some potential health problems associated with it as well!

Summer coat

If you have a border collie, you probably know that they shed. It’s not really something you can avoid if you own a dog, but it can be not very pleasant to clean up after your furry friend.

But when do border collies shed? And what kind of coat do they have?

In the summer months, border collies typically shed their winter coats and grow new ones. These summer coats are short and smooth, making them easy to maintain without much effort on your part! In fact, these types of coats require very little maintenance at all—just brush them once or twice per week and make sure they have access to water at all times so their skin stays hydrated!

Autumn hair loss

Hair loss in dogs is a common problem and can happen for a variety of reasons. It’s important to understand the cause of hair loss before you decide how to treat it.

The two most common types of hair loss are alopecia and telogen effluvium. PetFriendly delivers the best heartworm prevention for dogs. Alopecia is characterized by patchy balding that may occur anywhere on your pet’s body, though it’s more likely to affect your dog’s tail than other areas. Telogen effluvium is also known as “matting,” since the fur becomes matted and tangled rather than falling out completely.

If you notice that your dog has been losing its coat during an unusually hot or humid summer, this could be due to alopecia or telogen effluvium—but there are other causes as well! Your vet will be able to diagnose the problem based on what they find when examining their patient; if this isn’t possible (for example if you’re unable to get into see them right away), try taking pictures so that they’ll have evidence available when they finally do see you again later down the road (which might only be days).

Winter coat

The winter coat is the thickest and most protective layer. It’s usually double coated, with an undercoat that’s soft and dense and an outer coat that’s longer and coarser. Your Border Collie should shed both coats during the summer months—but will likely keep its thicker winter coat until fall hits again.

The coats of border collies change each season, but you can prepare for this with a proper grooming routine.

There are three main coat changes you should be aware of in your border collie.

  • Spring is a good time to start brushing the undercoat out of the top coat, but only if you want the hair to grow through with more volume and thickness. You can also do this in the fall, which will help prepare for winter—although it’s not necessary if your dog has a shorter coat than most border collies.
  • In summer, there’s no need to brush at all; instead, focus on keeping them cool by giving them plenty of water or cooling treats such as frozen peanut butter or bananas (without any sugar added).
  • In wintertime, it may seem like there’s no way out when it comes to shedding—but you can take measures now by picking up extra food supplies so that your dog has enough calories stored up during its molt cycle (which lasts about three weeks).

Conclusion

There are many different types of border collies, and they all have their own unique coat. As you can see, there are four different seasonal changes in the winter, spring, and autumn coats of these dogs. We hope this article has helped you to understand “when do border collie dogs shed”?

Due to their energetic nature and high level of activity, Border Collies are a highly active and intelligent breed. But they are prone to certain health issues such as hip dysplasia and injuries from activities. Purchasing dog insurance can provide you with peace of mind in case of unexpected vet bills. Insurance can help cover the cost of treatments, surgeries, and preventative care, such as vaccinations and routine check-ups to keep your dog happy and healthy. Furthermore, insurance can help you better budget for their care over the long term, and cover the costs of rehabilitation if your dog is injured. With the costs of veterinary care rising, dog insurance can be a smart long-term investment on your behalf to ensure that your pet is always getting the best possible care.

Car Oil Change Mistakes You Should Avoid

Photo by Tyler Nix on Unsplash

Many drivers decide to learn how to change the oil in their vehicles to keep them running optimally and save money on mechanic’s costs. However, doing the job incorrectly can lead to costly problems. Discover the car oil change mistakes to avoid getting on the road and keep moving forward.

Unprepared and Wrong Equipment

One of the biggest mistakes people make when changing their oil is being unprepared with the wrong equipment or a lack of essential tools. Items like a jack and ramps are required to lift the car and get underneath to change the oil safely. The mechanic near me Moreno Valley drivers recommend to others has the right tools for the job, making it more cost-effective to hire a pro to do your oil change than trying to do it yourself.

Choosing Incorrect Oil

Some people believe all oil is the same and works to keep a vehicle operating correctly. Unfortunately, this is not the case, and using the wrong oil can cause severe problems like engine damage. It is crucial to verify the oil type before changing it to get the right one or consult a qualified mechanic to learn more about the ideal oil for your specific vehicle.

Track the Mileage

Depending on the vehicle and the manufacturer’s specifications, drivers should change their oil every 3,000 to 10,000 miles to keep their cars running smoothly. Failing to track the car mileage between oil changes can lead to issues requiring repair. When a professional mechanic changes the oil, they generally put a sticker in the window so drivers know when to schedule the next oil change.

Choosing the Wrong Oil Filter

Another common problem is choosing the wrong filter when attempting to do an oil change yourself. Always verify the filter is made for the specific vehicle make, model, and year to ensure it fits correctly. Scheduling oil changes with a mechanic means never worrying whether the right oil or filter was used, helping to save time and money on future car repairs.

Too Much or Too Little

Putting the correct amount of oil in a vehicle is critical to keep it running. However, people trying to do it themselves often overfill or underfill the crankcase rather than putting in the proper quantity of oil. Always verify the amount of oil required to avoid putting in too much or too little during oil changes.

Forget the Oil Filler Cap

Even when people do all the other aspects of an oil change correctly, they often forget to put the oil filler cap back on. If this happens, the oil will spill out in the engine compartment and onto the front tires, creating a hazardous situation and wasting the oil that was just put into the car. While everyone wants to finish the job quickly and celebrate, the work isn’t done until the oil filler cap is put back on after the oil change is completed.

Doing an oil change can be simple for those who understand how cars work and the importance of having the right parts to complete the job. However, the smallest mistake can quickly become a major problem during an oil change, costing drivers more time and money than expected. Talk to a local mechanic about your oil change to get the best possible results.
