Rosberg X Racing suffer Extreme E title heartbreak in Season 2 finale

Rosberg X Racing (RXR) came tantalisingly close to securing back-to-back Extreme E championship titles. However, an incident-packed Uruguay Natural Energy X Prix in Punta del Este meant Nico Rosberg’s outfit ultimately came up short in the championship decider – losing out by two points to Lewis Hamilton’s X44 Vida Carbon Racing.

Here’s how the Season 2 title slipped away from RXR’s grasp.

Nico Rosberg’s outfit entered the weekend in Uruguay as favourites, 17 points ahead of their closest contenders, and eventual Season 2 champions, X44 Vida Carbon Racing. However, a series of unfortunate events for the team denied them their second Championship title in Extreme E.

The misfortune began in Q1 on Saturday, following a roll for their ODYSSEY 21 during Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky’s second lap. After going through an intricate corner by Waypoint 19, the car flipped, and the resultant accident ruled the team out of the rest of the session.

Despite the setback, RXR showed a masterclass in resilience by getting the car ready in time for Q2.

The session started well with Johan Kristoffersson taking the lead initially. However, a collision with ABT CUPRA XE’s Nasser Al Attiyah caused the Swedish driver to spin. Kristoffersson recovered to get back on course, but there was too much damage and RXR were forced to retire from their Q2 Heat – capping off a disastrous Saturday and ensured they would have to compete in the Crazy Race on Finals Day.

Here, they would face their direct championship contenders, X44 Vida Carbon Racing, head-on for a place in the Final and with the chance secure back-to-back titles.

The Crazy Race was set to be dramatic and, despite a strong start, Åhlin-Kottulinsky was pipped by X44 Vida Carbon Racing’s Cristina Gutiérrez and had to make do with second at the first turn.

RXR’s title hopes were soon rocked yet further, as contact with JBXE’s Hedda Hosås caused significant damage to Åhlin-Kottulinsky’s ODYSSEY 21. The Swede somehow managed to get back to the Switch Zone, where the RXR mechanics worked hard to get their damaged ODYSSEY 21 back out into the race in search of essential points.

Kristoffersson stood pensively on the sidelines as the team worked frantically to fix their damaged car. Nico Rosberg’s team appeared to have done the impossible as Kristoffersson set off from the Switch Zone after lengthy repairs, but RXR were soon disqualified for a Switch Zone infringement after having too many mechanics working on the car at the driver change.

This left the team watching on anxiously as the Final got underway, with X44 Vida Carbon Racing needing to finish third or higher to snatch the title away from RXR.

That they did in a dramatic conclusion to the season in Punta del Este, with X44 Vida Carbon Racing’s Gutiérrez and Sébastien Loeb finishing in third place to take a maiden championship title.

For RXR, having lead the standings for so long and been so strong for much of Season 2, it was heartbreak as the checkered flag fell in Uruguay.

Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, RXR, said: “The weekend was incredibly tough, and naturally, this is not what we had expected. But I want to focus on the positives: we had a very strong season overall and can be proud of our performance. The team has done such an amazing job and gave us the best possible car, so I am very thankful to them, as well as our fans.”

Throughout 2022, RXR remained the team to beat and demonstrated their speed throughout – breaking X44 Vida Carbon Racing’s stranglehold of the top qualifier spot, as well as two X Prix victories and securing three Continental Traction Challenge wins.

They will no doubt be a force when Season 3 kicks off on 11-12 March 2023 in NEOM, Saudi Arabia.

Johan Kristoffersson, RXR, said: “We would have liked to fight for the Championship in Uruguay and we are disappointed that we didn’t take part in the battle to show our best. But that’s racing. And while it is frustrating to lose out on the title at the last minute, we are also proud of our overall achievement and we will fight again in 2023.”

Kimmo Liimatainen, RXR Team Principal, added: “This is obviously a devastating end to our Championship dreams. But second place is still something to be proud of.

“I want to thank our world class drivers who gave it their all the entire season, our team of technicians and engineers who defied the odds by getting our car back up and running, our partners who share our vision for a more sustainable future, the team behind-the-scenes, and of course… our incredible fans. We will be back.”

CP and Toyota to join forces to study path toward carbon neutrality in Thailand

Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of CP, and Akio Toyoda, President and CEO of Toyota

TOKYO, Dec 14, 2022 – (JCN Newswire) – Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) and Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) will explore collaboration toward carbon neutrality in Thailand. Both companies are willing to welcome any partners who share the same view.

Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of CP, and Akio Toyoda, President and CEO of Toyota

Since its establishment in 1921, CP has been operating with the core value of three benefits: to country, to people, and to organization. CP provides accessibility to high quality products and expands its business in Thailand to a wide range of fields, including retail (such as 7-Eleven), distribution, industrial product, and agriculture & livestock. In the distribution field, CP has been supporting the lives of Thai people by transporting and delivering a variety of products through its wide-ranging operations, considering social, economic and environmental impacts and sustainability practices.

In addition, Toyota’s business in Thailand has garnered the support of a number of stakeholders including Siam Cement Group, an important local partner for Toyota, and has grown along with the development of Thai society through products, tax payment, employment and technology transfer, while overcoming a number of challenges such as the 1997 Asian financial crisis and the 2011 floods.

Akio Toyoda, President and CEO of Toyota, commented, “The two companies, both of which consider the best for Thailand and the Earth, have agreed to proceed with what we can do now, by using each company’s strengths and assets. I believe that taking this crucial step will allow us to be rewarded with the appreciation from the country, and will change the future landscape.”

Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of C.P. Group, responded, “What President Toyoda and I share is affection and gratitude to Thailand, and both of us very much want to give back to the country. I am delighted that both companies have an opportunity to jointly consider collaboration toward carbon neutrality in Thailand and welcome any companies that share the same carbon neutrality ambitions.”

Specifically, CP and Toyota will explore social implementation in the following three areas. With these actions being linked with each other, the two companies will proceed with what can be done now, to consistently reduce CO2 emissions throughout the entire process of producing, transporting, and using energy, toward accelerating carbon neutrality.

  1. Production of hydrogen using biogas derived from farm wastes (with the focus on economic zones)
  2. Introduction of fuel cell delivery trucks into CP’s fleet, which are to use the above-mentioned hydrogen (provide a variety of solutions such as BEV and FCEV, considering travel distance and load weight)
  3. Efficient logistics by proposing optimized delivery routes through connectivity technology

This collaboration will be considered with the participation of True Leasing Co., Ltd, CP’s transportation service business. In addition, the study will be conducted with Hino Motors, Ltd. who will participate into these efforts, which will be made in Asia by Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation (capitalized by Isuzu Motors Limited, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., and Toyota), which has been established with the aim of helping solve challenges faced by the transport sector and achieve carbon neutrality by realizing and spreading CASE technology. Furthermore, as carbon neutrality should be tackled by all people and industries, CP and Toyota are willing to welcome any partners who share the same view toward carbon neutrality.

Everything You Need To Know About Car Finance

Approved car loan application with car keys

There are several benefits of owning a car. It not only helps in transportation but also enhances your quality of life. Besides, it provides you with the means to commute in your own schedule.

If you decide to buy a car, you must consider how you’ll finance it. Paying cash is the most cost-effective way to own a car. Maybe you can get your hands on a secondhand vehicle for a cheap price and focus on modifications. If these options aren’t available for you, you can consider numerous alternatives. This is where car finance comes in.

Car Finance Defined

Also known as auto finance, car finance refers to the various financial products available that allow you to acquire a vehicle with any finance arrangement other than outright payment. This can be through loans and leases. In simple terms, you won’t pay for the car in full upfront; instead, you’ll pay the balance over a set period.

Car Finance Options

This article discusses four of the several car finance options you can consider.

1. Personal Loan

Applying for a personal loan is one of the simplest ways to buy a car. This process involves borrowing money from banks and other financial lending companies.

The total amount borrowed should be repaid plus the accrued interest within the agreed time. When applying for the loan, you’ll be given an idea about your monthly installments and the loan duration. Only go through the loan when you’re satisfied with the terms.

Applying for a personal loan to finance your car purchase has several benefits. For one, a personal loan’s interest rate can be lower than that of other options. Therefore, your monthly installments and the total amount payable will be lower.

Another great benefit of a personal loan is that you can use it to buy a car from private companies. That gives you the freedom to decide on which brand of car to buy. Other options, like the hire purchase, restrict you to a specific car dealership.

Moreover, you do not necessarily need to go to traditional banks to apply.  There are several platforms or lenders that allow you to apply for a loan online. Yes, you can finance a car online without physically visiting any bank. However, when going this route, you must partner with a reputable platform or lender.

2. Hire Purchase

Hire purchase is another option for purchasing your dream car. In this case, you pay an initial down payment and make equal monthly installments until you pay off the amount you owe.

In a hire purchase, you’ll be a registered keeper of the vehicle. You won’t own it until you make your final installment. The good thing about the hire purchase is that there’s no balloon payment at the end, so you can keep the car without giving out large amounts of money.

3. Personal Contact Hire

A personal contract hire involves car financing. It’s an agreement where you hire a car to use it for the long term, but you’ll never own it. But you’ll return the vehicle to the owner at the end of the agreed period. However, you’ll be required to pay fixed monthly amounts.

Personal contract hire can be a better option for people who always want to drive new cars. You can also consider this option if you’ll travel to another country for work or business-related tasks, according to buyherepayhere.io

4. Personal Contract Purchase

With a personal contract purchase, you’ll be required to make an initial down payment and monthly payments over an agreed-upon duration. At the end of the agreement, you’re given two options: returning the car or making a final balloon payment and keeping the car.

And like with most other car finance options, personal contract purchase allows you to be a registered keeper of the motor vehicle, so you can have it insured. However, you won’t own the car. Instead, you’ll be hiring it from the firm you signed the personal contract purchase deal with.

Takeaway

As you’ve read above, there are various finance options you can consider when purchasing a car. But your choice should depend on what suits you most. For instance, a personal contract purchase will be ideal if you don’t want to keep the car at the end of the contract. On the other hand, if you want to keep the car at the end of the agreement, you can go for a hire purchase option. And if you want to buy the car from a private seller, you can consider taking out personal loans. The idea is to choose a finance method that best suits your needs.

How Do Football Apps Get Their Match Data Instantly?

Football data is collected from the Football Association in England, FIFA in the United States, UEFA, and the Bundesliga. These apps now cover the world cup and European championships. Feedconstruct is a website that collates all football data collections so anyone can find out what’s happening in a match, such as scores, goal-line technology, and the league table.

Ways in Which Football Apps Get Their Match Data Instantly

1. The live scores and actual match data are downloaded from the Internet by the smartphone’s GPS if it has one. It enables users to use their mobile phone as a GPS tracker, something you can do on a special device called a Garmin Nuvi.

2. The app and the software that runs it on the smartphone rely merely on radio waves, like AM or FM radio and cell towers, to collect live scores and game data.

3. The app and the software that runs it on the smartphone depend on networked gaming server farms and cloud-based services, like Google-powered Spreadsheet, Google Docs, Google Web, or MS Office.

4. The app uses the peer-to-peer Internet to transport live scores and actual game data from one smartphone to another user’s smartphone.

There are elements that make it possible for football apps to have live scores and statistics. These elements are:

1. A software company writes an app that can be downloaded to smartphones.

For example, Sky Sports is an app that lets you stay in touch with all that is happening in the sports world, from football to golf to cricket. With this new app, Sky Sports offers live scores, stats, and live updates from matches and competitions happening Currently.

You can also share your thoughts and opinions about the games or matches you’re watching.

2. The smartphone must have internet capabilities in order to download data from the web and match data from a radio tower or cell tower source if one is nearby.

This is then transferred right into the app itself and displayed on the smartphone’s screen.

3. A network called NED, broadcasters, and a database.

NED stands for Neutral Enabling Device. These are servers that broadcast information to the consumer’s smartphone or tablet wirelessly, like a radio tower or cell tower.

It’s the broadcaster’s role to provide all the football match data, news, statistics, and more. Another thing that is needed is a database that stores details about each football match and sports competition match to be displayed on your app screen.

4. Ensuring data reliability and speed is crucial

These apps often utilize robust data management systems. When it comes to safeguarding this vital information, technologies like RAID come into play. Understanding what is RAID 10 and how it works can help ensure data reliability and speed for these apps. RAID 10 combines the benefits of both RAID 0 and RAID 1, providing high performance, fault tolerance, and ultimate data protection, catering to the high demands of live sports data streaming.

Some football apps include:

1. MatchdayLive

It is an app that gathers live scores from all the matches going on at any given time of day. It also provides you with a link to other football blogs and websites and news items about the matches you are watching on your phone or tablet.

2. The Guardian Football App

It is an app that gathers and shares football news, scores, and matches in real time, all from the team you support or are following.

3. Football Manager Live 2009

It is an app that combines live football scores and matches data with video highlights of major events all week long.

4. Football App

It is an app that shows you the latest football results and scores, showing how your team is doing in the league table. It also provides live match updates from different competitions going on anywhere in the world

The Bottom Line

The new generation of smartphones offers the latest technology used to create live scores and statistics. From geo-tracking to cloud computing, mobile apps are now a must-have accessory for anyone who enjoys football or any other sport.

Many entrepreneurs are starting up businesses that rely on the new and improved smartphones they now carry. With these phones come apps that offer everything from food reviews to games to news updates.

As with anything, there are many different types of apps out there. Some are paid, while others are free. Some take ads, while others don’t. What they all offer is live scores, statistics, and live updates from matches and competitions happening Presently.

DAVIDSON, NC (December 13, 2022) – A decade ago, IGNITE was a brand-new dream of the Evernham Family to provide a place where young adults, like his son Ray J., could explore career opportunities, learn life skills and develop relationships. Today, that dream is a reality, with IGNITE program now offered in Davidson, located in suburban Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh, NC, serving hundreds of young adults maneuvering their way through life.

Powering that IGNITE program has been the Evernham’s annual car show – AmeriCarna LIVE – which returned after COVID to be bigger and better than ever in 2022. The star-studded show, which featured vehicles from a range of NASCAR stars, automotive celebrities, car collectors and auto enthusiasts, was held Thanksgiving weekend at the Trane Technologies campus in Davidson, NC. It raised an incredible $500,000, thanks to the generosity of the region’s car community and a special donation by a private collector. The 2022 AmeriCarna LIVE event featured some 600 cars and more than 2,500 auto enthusiasts in attendance.

“This has been an incredible journey, and I’m so thankful for all of the partners and supporters along the way who have made this possible,” said Ray Evernham, founder of IGNITE, legendary NASCAR crew chief, team owner, and NASCAR Hall of Fame member. “What began as a spark of an idea to find solutions for my son Ray J., turned into one location in Davidson, and has now spread across the state to Greensboro and Raleigh. I’ve met so many families with young adults who are looking for the positive, productive next steps in their lives. I’m proud that IGNITE has been able to meet that need for so many young adults, and look forward to helping more families on their journey.”

Since opening in 2012, Evernham Family–Racing for a Reason has helped raise more than $2 million to fuel IGNITE’s growth, which has helped young adults with autism build fulfilling lives through the program. The Davidson facility opened in 2012, Raleigh in 2018 and Greensboro in 2020.

The results of the IGNITE program are remarkable. Members are gaining employment, pursuing their education, obtaining transportation skills, and living independently, as a result of IGNITE.

“Through the IGNITE program, I was able to develop the skills, confidence and motivation to earn my first job, get my driver’s license, and buy my first car,” said Chris Jameson. “I’ve learned so much about how to leverage my strengths and abilities from the team at IGNITE. They helped me get my current job as a software engineer, too. I look forward to see where my future can go from here and seeing the impact that IGNITE can play on individuals who are just entering the adult world. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of IGNITE and in doing so, helped me reach my dreams!”

Sean Creech Motorsport set for 2023 IMSA return

SCM acquires three chassis from CORE Autosport to increase potential options next season

JUPITER, Fla. (13 December 2022) – Sean Creech Motorsport (SCM) returns to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship paddock in 2023, with drivers João Barbosa and Lance Willsey set for a full season in the No. 33 SCM Exelixis/Focal One Ligier JS P320.

With several new Ligier JS P320s in its stable (including cars recently acquired from CORE Autosport), the team continues to explore the possibilities for next season, which starts with the team’s home race, the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Decisions are pending regarding a possible two-car WeatherTech series team or entry into both WeatherTech and the new VP Racing SportsCar Challenge.

“Having several cars does give us plenty of options for 2023,” said team principal Sean Creech. “Primary focus will of course be on the WeatherTech series – we finished fourth in the championship this year and definitely want to go after that title next year. We’ve had discussions with additional drivers, which would make it a two-car team, but nothing concrete yet. We are also looking at the VP series, with Lance interested in running, as well as several other drivers. It’s an exciting time for IMSA and we’re looking forward to getting the season underway at our home race in Daytona.”

SCM joined the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2021, though Creech has competed in sports car racing for over 30 years. After a partial season in 2021, the team contested the full LMP3 schedule in 2022, with season highlights including a victory at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, the team’s second-straight podium at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and a podium finish at the Motul Petit Le Mans.

The team finished second in the Michelin Endurance Cup (compiling points in the four endurance races – Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta) only six points behind the winner and scored a fourth-place finish in the final LMP3 team standings, with a total of 271 laps led on the year. The goal for 2023 is clear: continue that forward momentum.

“I look at endurance racing as an iterative process,” said Willsey. “We as a team are learning about the car every weekend and at every test. We improved from last season to this season, and I don’t see any reason that won’t continue, based on the caliber of the team Sean has assembled.”

Focused on continuing that progress, the team looks to come out of the gate strong in 2023 with an eye on that most prestigious prize, the iconic Cosmograph Daytona Rolex worn only by Rolex 24 winners. Barbosa is already the proud owner of four winner’s Rolex timepieces and knows what it takes to capture the top spot in one of the world’s endurance classics.

“We have improved our knowledge of the Ligier each year, and I think we’ll be even more competitive this year than the past two years,” said Barbosa, who lives in nearby Ormond Beach. “With two years of experience, the team knows exactly what to do. It’s one of my favorite races of the year, even more so because I get to stay in my own home the whole time!”

Much of the current SCM crew joined Creech in running the Extreme Speed Motorsports IMSA Prototype Challenge program from 2016 to 2018, winning the 2018 title with Kris Wright. The team has increased its knowledge of the Ligier each year and aims to continue its high standard of execution in 2023 – hoping to have a bit more luck, yielding the kind of results that highlight the excellent crew work and race reliability.

“Consistency is our biggest goal for this season,” said Barbosa. “We had good pace, but not consistent results, though we always had a competitive car. There were good finishes at Daytona, Sebring and Road Atlanta and we want to continue – and try to be even stronger next year.”

“One of the things that gives me optimism and enthusiasm for the upcoming season is the fact that we had no mechanical issues for the entire season,” continued Willsey. “The car performed flawlessly: I don’t see how the team could possibly have done a better job in giving the drivers a fast car, race in and race out. I have had the benefit of working with João, and others like Malthe (Jakobsen), Seb (Priaulx) and Parker (Thompson) over the past season, which provides an immense data set to learn from.”

The team has scheduled a two-day, two-car test at Daytona International Speedway in mid-December, to work through setups for the Rolex 24 and to finalize the driver lineup. With several drivers in contention to join Willsey and Barbosa at the four-race Michelin Endurance Cup and for the fourth seat at the Rolex 24, it’s a prime opportunity to evaluate not only the speed of each driver, but also to see what each driver’s approach is and how they interact with team members.

“We have had a large number of inbound inquiries regarding opportunities to join us for Daytona as well as for the season,” said Willsey. “We have at our disposal the unique combination of several race ready Ligier LMP320 cars, a history of competing and winning both driver championships as well as races since IMSA welcomed the LMP3 platform. That provides the team the ability to work with and develop drivers to compete at the highest level of motorsports.”

SCM thanks Alta Equipment Corporation for their support in 2022, and partners Focal One and Exelixis for their continued support.

Photo provided by Alpha Prime Racing

MOORESVILLE, N.C

Alpha Prime Racing is excited to announce that Jeffrey Earnhardt will be racing full-time in the number 44 Chevrolet Camaro during the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

“We’re so excited to have Jeffrey with us next season,” APR President Tommy Joe Martins said. “Jeffrey has been a competitor and a friend to me for a few years now. When Caesar and I started this team last year, we both talked about having Jeffrey at the top of our roster – so to see this all come together for 2023, he and I both feel like we finally got our guy.”

The 4th generation Earnhardt driver has competed at all three levels of NASCAR’s top series and is ready to return to the Chevrolet family and Alpha Prime Racing full-time next season.

“I’m really pumped this came together with Tommy and Caesar,” said Jeffrey. “We were evaluating different options and after speaking with them we knew this would be the perfect fit. They are making major moves to strengthen their program and they made me feel welcomed. I’m fortunate to have my sponsors from last season continuing their support and we’ve got some new partners onboard. I’m looking forward to putting on that bowtie and leading this team to their first victory next season.”

A major cornerstone for Earnhardt has been his sponsor ForeverLawn. They’re returning for multiple races in 2023 and CEO Dale Karmie is enthusiastic about the future.

“We are thrilled that Jeffrey Earnhardt will be back in the Black and Green Grass Machine in 2023” commented Karmie. “Jeffrey is a great driver, we just need to get him on the track more. We can’t wait to see what this year brings. We are blessed to have such great partners whose support continues to make this possible. We are also excited to continue bringing the message of hope from Pastor Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries. We’ll see you out on the track!”

The value of a competitive Earnhardt was demonstrated during his Talladega race this past season. Winning the pole and missing victory lane by one position, Jeffrey Earnhardt enjoyed the most viewed NASCAR Xfinity Series race in the past 5 years. With ECR power plants and confident leadership, Jeffrey and Alpha Prime Racing are eager to get to Daytona.

Can I Ask My Lawyer for a Copy of the Settlement Check?

All lawsuits will have a settlement, whether you appear as a plaintiff or defendant. When the case is resolved, parties must take specific procedural steps before authorities can give the final check.

When should I ask my lawyer for a copy of the settlement check?

When Do I Get the Settlement Check?

If an attorney represents you, they will usually handle the distribution of the settlement check. In most cases, the relevant body will make the check to you and your attorney, with your attorney’s name listed first.

It takes between thirty to sixty days before you receive the settlement check is processed. Your attorney will then endorse the check and deposit it into their trust account. Once the funds have cleared, your attorney will deduct their legal fees and other expenses.

The remaining balance will then be forwarded to you via check or direct deposit, depending on your preference.

If an attorney does not represent you, the insurance company will likely send the settlement check directly to you. In this case, it is essential to note that you should only sign the release once you have consulted with an attorney.

In hurricanes, a Hurricane Ian Insurance Claims attorney is helpful in providing valuable guidance. Once you have signed the release, the insurance company will issue a check for the full amount of the settlement.

How Much is the Settlement Check?

If you have already settled your personal injury case, you may wonder how much the settlement check will be. The amount given will depend on several factors, including:

  • The severity of your injuries,
  • The amount of medical bills you have incurred, and
  • Whether you have lost any wages due to your injuries.

Your attorney will consider all of these factors when negotiating a settlement on your behalf. If you have questions about how much your settlement check will be, you should speak to your attorney directly.

How is the Settlement Check Distributed?

The settlement check is distributed to the parties involved in the lawsuit according to the terms and conditions of the settlement agreement. The check is usually sent to the lawyer representing the plaintiff in the case. Then the lawyer distributes the funds to the plaintiff and any other parties entitled to receive a portion of the settlement.

What Happens if I Don’t Receive My Settlement Check?

You should contact your attorney if you are still waiting to receive your settlement check within the timeframe specified in your release agreement.

In some cases, the check may have been sent to the wrong address, or there may be a problem with the bank account into which authorities deposited it. If this is the case, your attorney can help to resolve the issue and get you your money.

Ask your attorney for a copy of the settlement check if you are curious about how much money you’ll receive. It’s important to remember that the settlement check is just one part of the equation.

Also, attorney’s fees and other expenses will need to be deducted from the total amount. As such, it’s best to wait until you receive your final statement from your lawyer before asking for a copy of the settlement check.
