Notes of Interest

● The Betway NHRA Carolina Nationals near Charlotte, North Carolina, is the 18th race on the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series’ 22-race schedule and it serves as the second round in the six-race Countdown to the Championship. Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) drivers Leah Pruett and Matt Hagan are eyeing a title run in their respective Top Fuel and Funny Car divisions. This year’s Countdown marks Pruett’s sixth appearance in the NHRA postseason and Hagan’s 11th.

● Pruett is tied with Doug Kalitta for eighth in the Top Fuel standings heading into the second round of Countdown, 107 points behind leader Justin Ashley. Hagan is second in the Funny Car standings, 81 points behind leader Robert Hight.

● Pruett comes into Charlotte representing Code 3 Associates on her blue Top Fuel dragster. Hagan, meanwhile, sports the red, white and blue colors of Shelor Motor Mile on his Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car.

Code 3 Associates, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in animal rescue and recovery in disaster areas, and it has gained notoriety among the NASCAR community for its association with Stewart and his NASCAR team, Stewart-Haas Racing. The successful partnership has led the Colorado-based organization to deepen its motorsports involvement by partnering with TSR in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series. Formed in 1985, Code 3 Associates has evolved from one unpaid volunteer to at least 75 professional responders around the country, which includes animal welfare, law enforcement, fire, EMS and veterinary specialists from the United States and Canada. While its focus is animals and their owners, Code 3 Associates trains its responders to the standards of human rescue, and Code 3 Associates also provides training to conduct thorough investigations into animal welfare, all of which is accredited by Colorado State University (CSU) and the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Code 3 Associates is currently in the midst of hurricane season, and they’ve compiled a list of ways to prepare for a disaster.

Shelor Motor Mile is a family-owned car dealership serving the Christiansburg, Virginia, area since 1974. In addition to a large selection of cars and trucks from various manufacturers, Shelor Motor Mile also has an in-house financing department that can help customers determine a financial plan for buying their desired vehicle. They also make trading-in a vehicle a seamless process and offer a sizable assortment of pre-owned cars. Shelor Motor Mile is owned by Hagan’s father, David Hagan.

● Pruett and Hagan competed at Charlotte April 29-May 1 in the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. Pruett secured the No. 2 qualifying position after four qualifying sessions, but was eliminated in Round 1 on Sunday. However, all five passes she made throughout the weekend were full, clean runs. Hagan also secured the No. 2 qualifying position at the Four-Wide Nationals and advanced to Round 2 on Sunday.

● The Carolina Nationals will serve as Pruett’s 189th career Top Fuel start. It’ll be her 18th overall start at Charlotte and her ninth in the Carolina Nationals. For Hagan, the Carolina Nationals will be his 311th career Funny Car start. It’ll be his 26th overall start at Charlotte and his 14th in the Carolina Nationals.

● Pruett is seeking her first victory in the Carolina Nationals, as well as her first No. 1 qualifier at the event. Pruett earned two of her four career wins in Pro Modified at this event in 2011 and 2012. Her best Top Fuel effort was a semifinal loss to J.R. Todd in 2015.

● Hagan has three career wins at Charlotte – two in the Carolina Nationals and one in the Four-Wide Nationals. His Carolina Nationals wins came in 2011 and 2014 while his Four-Wide triumph was earned in 2013. In his first Carolina Nationals win on Sept. 18, 2011, Hagan’s 4.130 ET at 301.06 mph defeated Mike Neff’s 4.431 ET at 202.79 mph. Hagan scored his second Carolina Nationals win on Sept. 20, 2014 when he defeated John Force. Hagan ran a 4.212 ET at 297.81 mph while Force fouled at the start, negating his run of 4.140 ET at 309.77 mph.

● Hagan has one No. 1 qualifier at the Carolina Nationals, which came on Sept. 17, 2011 (3.995 ET at 316.23 mph).

● Hagan was the first Funny Car driver to break the four-second barrier when he completed a run of 3.995 seconds in 2011 at Charlotte. His milestone run was commemorated with a sign on the retaining wall near the starting line.

● The Carolina Nationals will be a family affair for TSR as team owner Tony Stewart will host approximately 80 people from Stewart-Haas Racing. SHR is just nine miles north of the track in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Leah Pruett, Driver of the Code 3 Associates Top Fuel Dragster

You were five-for-five on your runs at Charlotte earlier this year. Talk about your confidence going back there in the Countdown.

“When we ran Charlotte earlier in the spring, we had a much different clutch combination than we do now. Therefore, we won’t exactly go back to that setup, instead our takeaway will be how accurate we were on making different calls between those rounds and apply that confidence to the calls we’ll make between rounds again this time.”

You first ran the Code 3 Associates Top Fuel dragster at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas, where you earned the provisional No. 1 qualifier on Friday, secured the No. 3 qualifying position, and then advanced to Round 2. Code 3 Associates is in the midst of hurricane season and ready to deploy on missions where they are needed. Describe the importance of representing Code 3 Associates.

“Just as it’s our time to shine and perform at our peak during this part of the season, it’s similar to Code 3 Associate’s clutch moments, especially as we’re in hurricane season. They do a great job of educating the public and encouraging them to make a plan at home when disaster strikes.”

Matt Hagan, Driver of the Shelor Motor Mile Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car

With one race in the six-race Countdown under your belt, what is your mindset heading into Charlotte?

“Our mindset is pretty good heading into Charlotte. I think we have some things we have to figure out on the racecar when we’re trying to apply power and run really hard. Having three (races) in a row, you have to prepare yourself mentally. It affects parts and pieces, wear and tear on your body and with the racecar. We’re just trying to keep everybody up and mentally focused.”

How does every round play a role in the championship battle?

“I want to come in, leave on time, keep it in the groove and turn the win light on. It was nice to see a couple win lights this last weekend. These next five races are everything. We’ve prepared for it all year long to be here.”

You’re running your family’s Shelor Motor Mile scheme for the second time this year. What does that mean, with Charlotte considered as one of your home races?

“It’s special to be able to run the Shelor Motor Mile scheme. We have so many people come locally from the dealerships. I think it’s great and I’m pumped about it. I haven’t gotten a Shelor Motor Mile win yet, so I really think this would be a great opportunity to do that with the way this car is running. How special would that be? It’s always eluded me, so I want to dig deep and get it in the winner’s circle this weekend.”

Flying Lizard Motorsports Fixated on GT4 Points at Sebring International Raceway

SEBRING, Fla., (September 21, 2022) – When Flying Lizard Motorsports first raced a pair of Aston Martin Vantage GT4 cars in Pirelli GT4 America’s then Sprint and SprintX championships, the team swept all eligible team and driver categories, adding four titles to the existing six on the roster. This year, the Lizards are back and in the championship hunt with the same manufacturer, this time racing with Elias Sabo and Andy Lee in Pirelli GT4 America. The team also continues to contest the No. 8 Aston Martin with Sabo in the GT America powered by AWS.

“This has season has just gotten better and better for us every race,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “We started off with some challenges but have progressively improved every weekend. With multiple podiums, we are so close to that first win. Both Andy and Elias have really come to grips with what it takes to put this car at the front of the field, and I am enjoying watching the progression of the program. Sebring is a great track, and we hope to continue with the momentum from the past races.”

GT America powered by AWS

Racing in the bronze-only championship that is GT America, Elias Sabo and his No. 8 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 are experiencing their own momentum after a strong performance last month at Road America. Despite many lengthy full-course cautions in both races, Sabo set the second-fastest lap in race one and ran as high as first in race two. This weekend at Sebring International Raceway, Sabo will again have two chances to race up front and continue to develop his race craft. Saturday and Sunday will each host a 40-minute race for the 27 entries slated to run.

GT4 America

The competition in this year’s Pirelli GT4 America championship in the Pro/Am class has been nothing but exciting in each round of the 14-race season. With ten rounds complete, a maximum amount of 100 points remains up for grabs. Sitting in fourth place, the Lizards are still mathematically in the hunt for the title but will need to perform well and keep a large gap over the points leaders in order to remain in the fight headed into the season finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Together racing the No. 8 Aston Martin Vantage GT4, Sabo and Lee have not finished outside the top five in the last five races, earning their best finish of second place at Road America last month. With momentum on their side, the pair have every intention of earning their first win before the season’s end. Saturday and Sunday’s races will provide the effort with two opportunities to make it happen, offering a pair of 60-minute races to the 32-car field.

Trois-Rivieres (Quebec, Canada), September 22, 2022 – The Pinty’s Fall Brawl, held this Sunday, September 25, at Delaware Speedway, is the last chance this season for Louis-Philippe Dumoulin to score a race win. The NASCAR Pinty’s Series will conclude its 2022 schedule on the paved half-mile Ontario oval, which is a two-hour drive West of Toronto, near London, Ontario.

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin and the #47 WeatherTech Canada Groupe Bellemare team are shooting for nothing less than a win to close out the year on a positive note. “This is our last race of the season and I’m looking forward to returning to Delaware,” said the driver of the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare car. “It’s a track that I really like because it’s fast, we can run side-by-side and it’s been repaved. It will be a fun race for the spectators as well as for the drivers.”

Last year, the series held three races at Delaware Speedway to close out the season and determine the 2021 season champion. In the end, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin used an effective strategy throughout the weekend and that won him his third NASCAR Pinty’s championship.

Looking back on his 2022 season, the veteran driver says, “We went through a lot of changes over this past season. NASCAR added a race on a dirt track, visited Newfoundland and Labrador for another new event, all that over a season of ups and downs for our team.”

“I am happy with the work of the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare team, as we had a new crew chief, and we are still learning to work together. With a longer season, we would have had the opportunity to race more often and do well, such as we did in Toronto and at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park this year. But for now, we must focus on the last oval event of the season,” added Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.

The Pinty’s Fall Brawl will start at 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 25. The season finale will be broadcast live on the TSN app or FloRacing.

Toyota Racing – Weekly Preview – 09.21.22

This Week in Motorsports: September 19-26, 2022

· NCS/NXS: Texas Motor Speedway – September 24-25
· NHRA: zMax Dragway (Charlotte, N.C.) – September 25

PLANO, Texas (September 21, 2022) – NASCAR is back on track this weekend at the home track for Toyota Motor North America – Texas Motor Speedway – with both the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series in action, while the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series makes its second stop of the season at zMax Dragway in Charlotte.

NASCAR National Series – NCS | NXS

Bell continues to impress… Christopher Bell impressed throughout the Round of 16 in the Cup Series as the Oklahoma-native took the points lead for the first time, won multiple stages and was the only driver to earn top-five finishes in the first three events of the Playoffs. He now turns his focus to Texas Motor Speedway – a place he has seen additional success. Bell won in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) at Texas in 2019 and earned a season-best third-place finish at the track in his NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) rookie season in 2020.

Hamlin planning on securing Texas win… Denny Hamlin had three strong top-10 finishes in the Round of 16, including two runner-up results, to advance Hamlin to the next round of the NCS Playoffs. Hamlin earned Toyota’s first two NCS wins at Texas Motor Speedway – sweeping the 2010 races – before adding an additional victory in 2019.

Busch looks to add to impressive Texas resume… Kyle Busch has an incredibly impressive resume at Texas Motor Speedway as the Las Vegas-native has won multiple races across NASCAR’s top-three series. Busch has four NCS wins, 10 NXS triumphs and four Truck Series victories at Texas Motor Speedway during his career.

Gibbs Texas double… Ty Gibbs will continue to sub for the injured Kurt Busch in the NCS for 23XI Racing, but is pushing for his first NXS title as he begins his first NXS Playoffs from the second seed. Gibbs is making his second career NXS start at the track. The North Carolina-native battled back from accident damage to finish 12th at Texas in the spring.

Jones looking for first Championship 4… Brandon Jones begins his latest championship push from the seventh seed on the strength of his win earlier this season in Martinsville. Jones, who is looking for his first Championship 4 berth, has multiple top-five finishes at Texas Motor Speedway, including a fifth-place finish one season ago.

Nemechek looking for Texas repeat … John Hunter Nemechek returns to the NXS in a week off for the Truck Series as he competes in his final start of the season with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). One season ago, Nemechek won in dominating fashion for JGR in Texas – leading 92 of 200 laps – on his way to his second career NXS win. Nemechek has one other NXS start scheduled this season at Las Vegas for Toyota’s Sam Hunt Racing next month.

NHRA – Top Fuel | Funny Car

Ashley holds points lead… Justin Ashley continues to impress in his debut season with Toyota as the New York-native took over the points lead with his runner-up finish at Maple Grove Raceway on Sunday. It is Ashley’s second time leading the points this season, and first since his season-opening victory at Auto Club Raceway of Pomona in February. Ashley, who has scored five consecutive semi-final finishes or better, earned the No. 1 qualifying position and an opening round win at zMax’s four-wide event earlier this year.

Brown, Torrence still in the hunt… Antron Brown and Steve Torrence have both continued their recent surges and both rank inside the top-five in the Top Fuel point standings heading to Charlotte. Brown, who has won two of the last four events, ranks fourth – 54 points out of the lead, with Torrence only one spot – and two points – behind Brown in fifth.

If you are unable to get a business loan, the experts at PaydayDaze explain your other options

Photo by John Schnobrich on Unsplash

If you’ve been turned down for a bank loan, don’t despair. Orville L. Bennett, a financial expert from PaydayDaze will enumerate and discuss all the options available to help you get the funding you need to start or grow your business.

Use online loans such as Payday loans online

Online loans are a great alternative to traditional bank loans. There’s no need to go through a long application procedure when you may obtain the money you need right now. It’s also possible to get a loan from an internet lender with bad credit, which might be a useful choice for those who don’t qualify for a conventional loan.

One type of online loan is the PaydayDaze Loan. As the name suggests, payday loans are small, short-term loans due to be paid back in as little as a few weeks. It’s an excellent alternative for folks who need money quickly since they are so simple to get. However, because they typically have high-interest rates and fees, it’s important to only borrow what you can afford to pay back.

If you’re considering taking out an online loan, be sure to do your research and compare different lenders before choosing one. Be sure to read the terms and conditions carefully, and only borrow from a reputable lender that you feel comfortable working with.

Look into business credit cards – these can be a great way to get started without having to take out a loan

When starting a business, loans can be a great way to get the financing you need to get started. However, loans can also be a burden, and many new businesses struggle to make their loan payments on time. If you’re looking for an alternative to loans, business credit cards can be a great option.

Business credit cards can provide the financing you need to get started, without the burden of loan payments. In addition, business credit cards can help you build your credit, so that you can qualify for loans in the future. To qualify for a business credit card, you will need to have good personal credit. However, if you have bad credit, there are still options available to you.

There are plenty of business credit cards on the market, so do your research to find the right one for your needs. With a little bit of planning, business credit cards can be a great way to finance your new business without taking out a loan.

Consider using your personal credit score to obtain a loan – even if you’re not personally liable for the debt, your credit score will still be affected

Loans are not the only way to get funding for a large purchase or project. In some cases, using your personal credit score to obtain a loan can be a better option – even if you’re not personally liable for the debt, your credit score will still be affected. There are a few things to consider before taking this route, though.

  • First, make sure you understand the terms of the loan and what you’re agreeing to.
  • Second, think about whether or not you can afford the monthly payments – missed or late payments can damage your credit score even further.
  • Finally, keep in mind that loan alternatives often come with higher interest rates, so be sure to shop around and compare rates before making a decision.

Taking the time to do your research and understand your options is the best way to make sure you choose the right financing solution for your needs.

Ask family and friends for help – they may be more willing to invest in your business than a complete stranger would be

Loans from family and friends can be a great way to get your business off the ground. Not only are they usually more willing to invest in your business than a complete stranger would be, but they may also be more forgiving if you miss a loan payment or two. Loans from family and friends can also be a good option if you have bad credit or no collateral.

However, loans from family and friends can also come with their own set of problems. If you’re not careful, loans from family and friends can put a strain on your relationships. It’s important to remember that loans from family and friends are just that – loans. You should treat them as such and not take them for granted.

Defaulting on a loan from a family member or friend can ruin your relationship, so it’s important to make sure you can afford the monthly payments before you take out the loan. Loans from family and friends can be a great way to get your business off the ground, but you should proceed with caution.

Use crowdfunding platforms to raise money from interested individuals

In recent years, crowdfunding has become an increasingly popular way to raise money for a wide variety of projects, from personal loans to business ventures. For individuals interested in pursuing this option, there are a number of different crowdfunding platforms to choose from. Each platform has its own rules and regulations, so it is important to do some research before selecting one.

One of the most important considerations is the amount of money that you are hoping to raise. Some platforms have minimum thresholds, so it is important to make sure that your project meets the requirements. Once you have selected a platform, the next step is to create a campaign page. This is where you will need to provide some information about your project and explain why you are seeking funding.

Be sure to include images and videos to help potential donors get a better understanding of your project. Finally, set a fundraising goal and deadline. Once your campaign is live, it is important to promote it through social media and other channels. With a little effort, you can successfully reach your fundraising goals and bring your project to life.

Check with local banks and credit unions about their small business lending programs

When most individuals consider loans for small companies, their typical first stop is the financial institution in their community. Nevertheless, there are other options available, such as those provided by credit unions. Credit unions are member-owned financial cooperatives that are not-for-profit.

They provide a range of loans for small companies, such as lines of credit, term loans, and equipment loans. Local banks also provide loans for small enterprises, although they may have tougher qualifying restrictions. It’s always a good idea to check with both local banks and credit unions about their small business loan programs to discover which one is suitable for you.

Cash For Cars Hamilton: How To Prepare Your Vehicle Before Selling

Cash for cars is one of the best businesses to sell your old or non-working car. They are businesses that buy cars in different conditions, makes, and models.

If you can’t find any private buyer for your junk car, you can call a cash for cars and have them assess your vehicle.

But before doing so, you need to prepare your car first to ensure you won’t have problems later. Here are ways that you can ready your old junk vehicle for selling.

  1. Browse Your Car Interior

Take a good look at the car interiors and look for items that you may have lost before selling your car to Cash For Scrap Cars Hamilton. Make sure to scan the floors, corners, under the seats, and inside compartments for any objects. Use a flashlight if you need to help with your vision. Once cash for cars has taken your car, it’ll be impossible to get it back. Any personal belongings might get taken away or get crushed by the equipment they use.

To ensure that it doesn’t happen, never leave any essential items inside your car. It could be your wallet, glasses, medication, license and registration, and more.

  1. Use Or Remove Leftover Fuel

If you haven’t been driving your car, you might want to check if there is any leftover fuel, coolant, or fluids. If the vehicle is still drivable, use up the gas because the Cash For Cars In Hamilton won’t have any use for it anyways.

Take it out for a drive, run errands, pick up the kids from school or use it for a long trip. If you have the ability to drain it, do so before the sale. You can also ask the cash for the cars team if they do the draining themselves.

Ask the business if you will also get a bigger amount for the car if you drive it to the shop instead of them picking it up. The team might consider it since they no longer have to go to your place. But expect that the pricing might still change depending on the assessment of your car.

  1. Cancel Your Car Registration

Take good care of the car’s documentation. Once the car is out of commission, you should cancel its registration. New cars need registration before drivers buy them and take them out on the road. But now that your car will not be in use anymore, it’s time to cancel it.

The application for cancellation of registration applies if your car becomes useless. It could also be that you won’t be driving it anymore, an insurer writes it off, or it was under heavy modification.

  • At the same time, you can’t cancel the registration of your vehicle for the following reasons:
  • Missing or stolen plates;
  • The vehicle is not under your name;
  • Stolen or unrecovered vehicle;
  • You sold the vehicle, but the buyer didn’t inform the agency;
  • You only want to change the plates;

To complete the application, fill up and submit an MR15 form to the agency, and give your ID and number plates.

  1. Stop Insurance Coverage

If you have canceled your registration to stop paying for renewals, do the same and cancel car insurance. It is mandatory for car owners to have car insurance to protect drivers from liability. But when you sell your car, you won’t need to continue paying the premium anymore. You lastly want to keep paying for insurance even after the car is gone.

Contact your insurance provider and inform them that you will sell your vehicle. You might even be entitled to a refund if you paid upfront not long ago.

  1. Deactivate Car Systems

Before planning to sell your car, you might want to first disable your car system. Car wreckers will still want your vehicle because of the components they can salvage. But if you feel you can get a better deal from another buyer, you can remove it yourself. The disadvantage is if you don’t have a buyer, you will be stuck with a component you can’t use.

If the vehicle still has its alarm, you can disarm and retrieve it. Remember that it will disable the immobilizer. Make sure the ignition switches are off as well.

If you know the fuse box’s location, disable the car’s tracking system. You can also remove the fuse box and sell it. It’s better to sell them if some systems are not working anymore. If you’re unsure what to do with the systems, you can sell the car whole to cash for cars and let them take care of the parts.

In Conclusion

Before selling your car, you might want to inspect it first to recover any personal items. Cancel all documentation to ensure the cash for cars team won’t have to deal with them. Selling your car also involves these procedures because agencies still hold your information. The cash for cars team might ask you questions about the vehicle and its paperwork. The last thing you need is to forget the important things before they hand you the money for your car.

Three Strategies for Running ads on Facebook

Photo by John Schnobrich on Unsplash

Whether creating a business or selling a product, utilizing Facebook ads effectively can increase the popularity of your business. Facebook is currently the most active social media platform on the internet, and as of April 2022, Facebook has 2.936 billion monthly active users. With such a large pool of active users, Facebook ads offer the ability to have your business or products discovered by thousands or even millions of new potential customers.

Learning and understanding how to market your products effectively can be just as valuable as the product itself. Fortunately, through additional tools such as an ad maker and analytics viewers, a successful campaign is within reach to all types of businesses. Continue reading to learn about three strategies you can implement to improve your Facebook ad campaign.

Effective Adaptation

Advertisement effectiveness depends on factors such as ad design, target audience, and product offered. A Facebook ad can quickly fail to reach target analytical goals depending on any one of those factors. Flexibility within your advertisements to help achieve those goals is crucial for a successful ad campaign.

A problem with adapting your ads frequently is having to create more media and graphics to reach the target audience. A popular method for small businesses to solve this problem quickly is using an ad creator such as PosterMyWall, which can create professional-level ads promptly.

Implementing these tools into your ad campaign allows you and your business quickly gain experience creating and understanding the type of ads that perform well. It is also important to mention that ad creators offer plenty of tools to create the perfect graphics and media for any of your potential ad campaigns.

Promotional Offers

In some cases, simple ads alone can be enough to attract new customers and build a brand slowly. Promotional offers are an effective ad campaign strategy that can attract many new customers quickly. New and existing customers will always love the idea of being able to save money compounded with the exclusivity of a one-time promotional offer.

Promotions primarily rely on a short-term timeframe and produce some level of risk. When done correctly, promotions can be an effective way for a business to get its foot in the door and create a loyal customer base.

To effectively implement promotions into your campaign, consider what would get potential customers interested in your business. For example, a candle-making company could offer free sample candles, or a drone video service could offer half-off photographs and videos for residential homes. The key is to provide just enough to leave your customer wanting more.

Geo-Targeting

The last strategy that benefits your Facebook ad campaign is utilizing geo-targeting. Geo-targeting is selecting a specific geographical area you wish to display your Facebook ads. This type of advertising is cheaper and is more effective at reaching your target audience.

Locally operated businesses such as lawn care and photography benefit the most from geo-targeting. This type of business would be throwing away money running ads that reach an area that would be impossible for them to serve.

Using geo-targeting is simple – all you have to do is place the area you wish to focus on within the sphere of influence, and you’re all set! Your ads will only reach the customers you can serve and allows you to focus on the most valuable customers.

Conclusion

Facebook ad campaigns are not a one-trick fix for generating more customers for your business or products. Preparing a successful ad campaign requires the combination of multiple good marketing strategies without breaking the bank. Hopefully, you can implement the strategies within this article in your future endeavors.

Yuki Tsunoda retained by AlphaTauri for 2023 F1 season

Scuderia AlphaTauri announced that Yuki Tsunoda will be remaining with the organization and compete in a third Formula One season in 2023.

The 22-year-old Tsunoda from Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan, is currently campaigning in his second full-time season in F1 competition with the Faenza-based organization. Through 16 of 22-scheduled events, he has achieved three top-10 points-paying results, including a season-high seventh-place result at Imola Circuit for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in April, and has accumulated 11 points as he sits in 16th place in the drivers’ standings.

“I want to say a huge thank you to Red Bull, Honda and Scuderia AlphaTauri for continuing to give me the opportunity to drive in F1,” Tsunoda said. “Having moved to Italy last year, to be closer to the factory, I really feel part of the team and am glad that I get to carry on racing with them in 2023. Of course, our 2022 season isn’t over yet and we’re still pushing hard in the midfield battle, so I’m fully focused on finishing it on a high and then we will look forward to next year.”

Tsunoda, a graduate of the Red Bull Junior Team, made his inaugural presence in F1 at the start of the 2021 season, where he replaced Daniil Kvyat and competed alongside Pierre Gasly for AlphaTauri. In his maiden F1 event during the Bahrain Grand Prix at Bahrain International Circuit, Tsunoda collected his first two points in F1 after finishing ninth. He went on to achieve six additional top-10 results during the remaining 21-scheduled events, including his career-best result of fourth place during the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit, before finishing in 14th place in the drivers’ standings with a total of 32 points. The points he and teammate Gasly (110) earned were enough to place AlphaTauri in sixth place in the final constructors’ standings with the team achieving its highest-combined points of 142.

Prior to his debut in F1, Tsunoda, whose racing career commenced with karts, competed in the 2020 Formula 2 Championship season with Carlin, where he earned three victories, seven podiums and a third-place result in the final standings with 200 points. He also claimed his first Formula 3 victory at Autodromo Nazionale Monza while driving for Jenzer Motorsport in September 2019 and the 2018 F4 Japanese Championship title with the Honda Formula Dream Project.

“As we’ve seen since he joined us last year, Yuki is a very talented driver and has improved a lot this season,” Franz Tost, Team Principal of AlphaTauri, added. “The pace he has shown recently is clear evidence of a steep learning curve, which proves he deserves a seat in F1, and I still expect some strong results from him in the last six races of 2022. As I always say, a driver needs at least three years to fully get to grips with Formula 1, so I’m pleased he’s been given the time to show his full potential. In addition, it’s a testament to Dr. [Helmut] Marko and his driver programme that we’re able to bring these young talents up from the junior categories and develop them. I’d like to join Yuki in thanking Red Bull, AlphaTauri as well as Honda, for their continuous support and for allowing him to stay with us for another year.”

Tsunoda is slated to compete alongside Gasly at AlphaTauri for the 2023 season, though Gasly’s future with the organization remains unknown as he is rumored to replace Fernando Alonso at the BWT Alpine F1 Team for the upcoming season. AlphaTauri’s official confirmation of its two-driver lineup for 2023 have yet to be announced.

With his racing plans for 2023 set, Tsunoda’s 2022 season will next continue at Marina Bay Street Circuit for the return of the Singapore Grand Prix on October 2.
