2021 F150 vs 2019 RAM and 2019 Silverado

AmericanTrucks’ 0 to 60 Race

PAOLI, Pa. (January 25th, 2021) – Aftermarket parts authority, AmericanTrucks (AT) releases a new video showdown between the brand new 2021 Ford F150, a 2019 Chevy Silverado, and 2019 Dodge RAM. With tracks closed for the winter, the ‘good old-fashioned donnybrook’ is performed in a big, empty parking lot. AT host, Justin Dugan uses a GPS-based performance meter to see how long it takes for each truck to go from 0 to 60.

Justin describes the 0 to 60 blast as “an honest comparison between three of the heavy hitters.”  All three trucks are bone stock with no tune or mods. Justin begins with the Silverado before moving onto the RAM and finally, the F150. Justin races each truck in 4-wheel drive to eliminate wheel spin. He stalls up the truck a little bit before hammering down for the test. As expected, the 2021 F150 comes out on top clocking in at just 6.3 seconds. Justin credits the win to the F150’s lighter weight, and slightly more favorable gear ratio.

AmericanTrucks.com is well established as one of the most reliable online aftermarket retailers in the business. The new 0-60 race is a welcome addition to AT’s video lineup of 2021 content. In addition, 2021 F150 parts are now live on the website. Customers are encouraged to visit regularly to shop for the latest selection of products as they are made available on americantrucks.com.

NO. 3 CORVETTE C8.R MEDIA AVAILABILITY TRANSCRIPT
JANUARY 26, 2021

Corvette Racing drivers Antonio Garcia, Jordan Taylor and Nicky Catsburg – teammates in the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C8.R – met with members of the media during a Zoom conference call Tuesday to discuss the upcoming Rolex 24 At Daytona, expectations following the 100-minute race during the Roar Before the 24, transitions of new team members into the No. 4 Corvette and other topics. FULL TRANSCRIPT:

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R
IMPRESSIONS FROM THE ROAR BEFORE THE 24: “I didn’t do as much as Jordan and Nicky since they did the race. A 1-2 for Corvette, though, is all you can ask for. Everyone ran smooth, we had good strategy and everything ran according to plan. We still don’t know where our competitors are (on pace) but we need to focus on our program, what we do and try to learn as much about the C8.R as we can. Doing all that should make us prepared for the big one Saturday.”

IMPORTANCE OF CONTINUITY ON THE 3 CORVETTE SIDE: “It’s good to have this team of crew and engineers. Initially last year was a big shift between the Rolex 24 and our first race after the lockdown. Now things are running very smooth. It’s a good starting point to have everyone on the same page – same drivers, same mechanics and same engineers. We just need to keep the momentum going and winning races.”

TAKING CORVETTE RACING’S FIRST ROLEX 24 WIN SINCE 2016: “Every time you come back here, you want to win. The last time we won the race for us on the 3 car was 2015, and the 4 car won in 2016. We want to be back up there and get a watch, for sure. I think the C8.R is the car to do it. I just hope this past year of racing helped us to develop it in order to compete and win a long race like this one. You never know what is going to happen and how the car will behave. I think we did all we could to be as prepared as possible. Let’s hope to be up there right at the end and be able to fight for the win again.”

BIGGEST CHANGE IN THE C8.R SINCE ITS DEBUT A YEAR AGO: “Everything changes. There is constant development going on every day. Each time we hit the track, there is something to learn. There is input from the drivers and data to analyze. So the car improves every day. Now with more tools like the simulator and some other things, the C8.R is far away from being fully developed. The guys at Corvette Racing are still working flat-out on that… not only on performance but also on reliability. Everyone is working as a group to make it faster and more reliable. Things are going in the right direction. We need to see where we are Sunday morning and if we are able to carry on and win it again.”

ON ADDTIONS OF NICK TANDY AND ALEXANDER SIMS TO THE NO. 4 CORVETTE SIDE: “Coming from other manufacturers, you get to know where the strong points are on other cars. Once they drove the Corvette, they could figure out the good points of this car but they also may have some new ideas about how to make this car better. It’s not only about the current setups but also how you work with the car, how you work the tires… all that additional experience helps a lot. Corvette Racing has been very consistent with the same guys, so getting new guys coming in from other teams helps a lot to get a wider view and more input on how to improve things. These additions are big gains for Corvette Racing to get these guys who have a ton of experience to help improve the car and the whole team.”

JORDAN TAYLOR, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R
IMPRESSIONS FROM THE ROAR BEFORE THE 24: “We’re going in with some good momentum after last year, winning five races and the championship. It was a strong showing for the C8.R. Coming back to Daytona having a year under our belt with this car, a lot of development and winning the sprint race here last year gives us confidence. This year with new cars and new classes, it’s definitely going to change the game a bit with how careful and cautious you are going to be through the night with some new drivers in new cars. At the end of the day, it’s the same style of racing where you have to survive to the end. It could be a little extra important in making sure you get to the end of race with a very strong car and a very fast car. You know that at the end of these races, you can get a late yellow and go racing at the end. We learned a lot this past weekend that can help us with it.”

TEAM AND CREW CHANGES ON THE 3 CORVETTE AFTER NEW FACES LAST YEAR: “It’s the same crew. All of the same guys are still there. Some of the truck drivers moved around and a couple of guys retired in the off-season. But our engineer is still John Lankes, we have the same car chief (David Marin) and same crew guys going over the wall. There are no big changes on the crew side, just the management side (Marc Maurini as team manager).”

ROLEX 24 OUTLOOK FOR THE CORVETTE C8.R: “It has all the right pieces to get the Rolex. Last year when we hit Petit Le Mans and the Sebring 12 Hours, those were big on our list because we wanted to get an endurance win with the C8.R. The Rolex 24 is like a championship in itself; if you win it, it’s such a big prize and huge honor. I know everyone’s focus is on the Rolex on the one hand, and after that you start looking at the championship as a whole.
“We had the right pieces last year. We had a very good race and finished fourth with no major issues. Coming out of the box like that and not having much development on the setup side, the crew not having a lot of pit stop experience and strategy with a new car, and maybe not understanding fuel mileage and drivability… now we are way more prepared and it gives us a lot of confidence that we had such a strong race last year. I think of how far the car has been developed, even during the couple of months that we were in lockdown. I think we have all the right pieces. It’s just down to things going our way, getting traffic in the right places and not getting caught up in other people’s races. It’s always difficult to win these races, but we do have the right pieces at Corvette Racing. All we need to do is stay out of trouble for 20 hours and hopefully go racing for the last couple.”

CHANGES ON THE NO. 4 CORVETTE SIDE: “It’s been good. They obviously are professionals, so they’re coming in and were up to speed right away. It’s always interesting to have new guys coming in to have a different perspective. We drove the car all year, and some of the guys have been developing it over a couple of years. It’s interesting to have gotten to this point and have some fresh faces come in and give it a different perspective. They can see things from the outside now that maybe we are used to, maybe some habits that we’ve developed. It’s always good to have that, and it will be good for the rest of the year for us to keep developing this car.”

NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R
THOUGHTS ON BEING PART OF THE RACE AT THE END OF THE ROAR: “It was a bit different this time. Normally we don’t go racing before we go into the actual Rolex 24. I must say I was a bit skeptical at first but I actually really liked to do this race. It gave me an opportunity to get a stint under my belt and do some driver changes, and it feels like very good preparation for the event. To come back with a 1-2 result was very good for us. It was very good preparation for the Rolex.”

TRAFFIC WITH LMP3 CARS AND HOW IT COULD IMPACT THE RACE: “I was quite surprised at the Roar. I was kind of expecting it to be very difficult, but then it turned out not to be. I do feel like it will be more difficult (in the race) than other years. The LMP3 cars seem to be doing exactly the same speed in any particular sector. We are pretty much the same speed everywhere. After every restart, it will mean we will behind the LMP3s. So it will be intense. As Jordan mentioned earlier, I think we have to be more careful than previous years and try to make it to the end because there will be a lot of action.”

DOES THAT MAKE RESTARTS THE MOST CHALLENGE PART: “I definitely think restarts and in the night, as well. I think some of the LMP3 drivers might be new to night racing. Going out on cold tires for some of those guys is difficult just like it is for us. I think we have to really take care and try to make it until the last hours before we start pushing.”

PROGRESS OF THE CORVETTE C8.R FROM LAST YEAR’S ROLEX TO THIS YEAR: “My breaks between the races I do are a bit bigger than the other guys. So every time I step in the C8.R, I feel like a big step has been made. If I compare it to Daytona from last year, I can feel things like general car balance is better, drivability is better. If I look at myself, I feel more comfortable within the team and with the car now. I feel more ready for this race in general. Those are the two biggest things.”

Joe Gibbs Racing announced that Ty Gibbs will contend for the 2021 ARCA Menards Series championship as he will also make his inaugural presence in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Gibbs, the 18-year-old grandson of NASCAR championship-winning team owner Joe Gibbs and a native from Charlotte, North Carolina, will be assuming a full-time driving role in the No. 18 Toyota Camry for JGR as he will contend for the 2021 ARCA Menards Series championship.

Throughout the 2020 season, Gibbs recorded a season-high six ARCA Menards Series victories and one ARCA Menards Series East victory. In 16 of 20 ARCA Menards Series starts, Gibbs also recorded five poles, 12 top-five results, 14 top-10 results, 969 laps led and an average result of 4.4 as he contributed to the first ARCA Menards Series Owner’s Championship for Joe Gibbs Racing.

“We want to build on the success that our team had last season,” Mark McFarland, crew chief of JGR’s ARCA program, said. “Ty works extremely hard to prepare each week, and it’s exciting to have him behind the wheel for every race and the opportunity to go after our goal of winning that championship.

Along with his ARCA schedule, Gibbs will make his debut within NASCAR’s top three national touring series in 2021 as he will pilot the No. 54 Toyota Supra in the Xfinity Series event at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course on Saturday, February 20. Gibbs will serve as one of multiple competitors driving the No. 54 car throughout the 2020 Xfinity season, with Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. also slated to compete in at least one event while Chris Gayle will serve as the crew chief of the No. 54 team. The current schedule has Gibbs eligible to contend for the 2021 Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year title.

“I’m pumped to run the full season in the ARCA Menards Series,” Ty Gibbs said. “[Crew Chief] Mark [McFarland] has put together an amazing team that gives me a chance to be successful every week. I’m also really excited to have the opportunity to work with [crew chief] Chris Gayle to make my debut in the Xfinity Series. I can’t imagine a better situation for me to learn and be able to compare notes, not only with my series teammates like Brandon [Jones], Harrison [Burton] and Daniel [Hemric], but also veterans like Kyle, Denny and Martin who I will share the car with.”

“I’m looking forward to the upcoming season,” Chris Gayle added. “Ty has already shown a great deal of talent with each step he has taken in his career and I think the opportunity to also learn from his veteran teammates will be a huge benefit to his development.”

Additional announcements regarding the full Xfinity Series schedule for Gibbs and Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 54 Toyota team will be announced at a later date.

The seventh season (2020/21) of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is currently scheduled to kick off with a double-header in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its desert landscape, and marks the third consecutive season that AVX has aligned with Mouser Electronics and TTI, Inc. in supporting the all-electric DRAGON racing team. The Diriyah races will also mark the series’ first night races, which will be lit with the latest, lowest-energy-consumption LED technology and exclusively powered by renewable energy sources to maintain the series’ net-zero carbon footprint, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 26 and 27.

The double-header originally scheduled for January 16 and 17 in Santiago, Chile, has been postponed and the new dates for that race, as well as the dates and locations for the rest of the 2020/21 season, will be released later this year. The pre-season test races in Valencia, Spain, spanned three days, five sessions, and some 6,000 laps in late November and early December, and revealed the likelihood of a hotly contested season, with all 24 drivers finishing the fifth, final, and most competitive session within just 0.761 seconds of one another, setting a new record for the tightest spread times in pre-season Formula E test races.

The DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT team earned positions two and three in the pre-season test races, with new driver Sérgio Sette Câmara closely followed by returning driver Nico Müller. Other team updates for the 2020/21 season include the new name, which highlights the involvement of team principal Jay Penske, son of legendary team boss and entrepreneur Roger Penske, and a striking new color scheme: matte white with chrome red livery.

“We’re delighted to be co-sponsoring the DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT Formula E racing team for another exciting season in partnership with Mouser, TTI, and Molex,” said Alex Schenkel, AVX’s senior vice president of Global Sales. “The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is an especially thrilling way to promote global environmental sustainability and stewardship and to showcase the latest high-performance automotive EV technologies. It’s also wildly entertaining and interactive, even for viewers watching from home, which we hope will bring some much-needed joy and fast-paced excitement to the millions of fans affected by quarantines, closures, and curfews. We’re all in this together and we’re very grateful for the opportunity to share some good, clean fun with auto racing enthusiasts around the world.”

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is the fastest-growing series in motorsport and the first sport with a net-zero carbon footprint since inception. Firmly rooted in three core values: energy, environment, and entertainment, the championship serves as an Apollo-like proving ground, driving the development of innovative EV technologies from the drawing board through to the production line, promoting sustainable human progress, and — through the power of ultra-competitive, unpredictable, and edge-of-your-seat exciting, all-electric racing in the center of the world’s most iconic cities — fueling the adoption of electric vehicles to help counteract climate change.

AVX supports the design and development of cutting-edge EV technologies with a robust portfolio of advanced passive component, interconnect, sensor, control, and antenna solutions expertly engineered to provide peak performance in powertrain, active body control, lighting, power conversion, drive control, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

NASCAR, iRacing Announce Return of eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series

Building upon overwhelming success in 2020, star-studded virtual racing series featuring NASCAR Cup Series drivers will return to action in late March

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Jan. 26, 2021) – After a historic debut season that set the high watermark in viewership for televised esports programming, the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series is set to return in 2021.

NASCAR and iRacing jointly announced today that a new-look Pro Invitational will see NASCAR Cup Series stars compete virtually in a 10-race schedule that will complement NASCAR’s real-life racing schedule, offering fans a new mid-week competition featuring NASCAR’s top drivers. FOX Sports, which helped NASCAR and iRacing set viewership records with the inaugural Pro Invitational last season, will broadcast the first five races of the series live in primetime on FS1. NBC Sports will air the final five races of the series, with its schedule and details to be announced at a later date.

With the NASCAR Cup Series set to visit new tracks and new markets in 2021, this year’s Pro Invitational will feature a mix of tracks designed primarily to preview the upcoming weekend’s “real life” race – a feature that will be particularly beneficial in giving fans an idea of what to expect as the real-life drivers take on challenging new circuits throughout the season.

“The success of our eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series was underscored by an industry-wide effort to entertain fans during the early months of the global pandemic,” said Tim Clark, NASCAR senior vice president and chief digital officer. “This year the Pro Invitational will return with a schedule of midweek races that will bridge the gap between our real-world races each weekend.”

“After last year’s Pro Invitational success, we’re proud that our partners at NASCAR, FOX, and the race teams view the series as an integral part of their marketing and fan engagement strategies for 2021,” said Steve Myers, iRacing executive producer. “It’s even more fulfilling that the industry has rallied around our platform not only as the most authentic re-creation of the sport, but also a terrific tool to help grow NASCAR’s audience and generate revenue to strengthen the entire ecosystem.”

The first five mid-week events will air on FS1 on select Wednesday nights beginning March 24th, featuring an exciting mix of races that include Bristol Motor Speedway’s new dirt configuration, fan-favorites such as Talladega Superspeedway and Darlington Raceway, and Austin, Texas’ famed Circuit of the Americas’ facility. NBC Sports will pick up the second half of the 10-race season once the network’s broadcast window begins in June.

“FOX Sports embraced the eNASCAR iRacing Invitational Series in the spring as a way to keep race fans entertained, but we quickly realized it was a product and collaboration that we would continue to explore,” said FOX Sports Executive Producer, EVP/Head of Operations and Production Brad Zager. “The product is best-in-class, it delivers NASCAR to an even broader audience and, let’s face it, it’s a heckuva lot of fun.”

Youtheory Partners With LaJoie, Spire Motorsports for Daytona 500

CONCORD, N.C. (January 26, 2021) – Spire Motorsports announced today Youtheory® will be the primary sponsor aboard the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro with driver Corey LaJoie in the 63rd running of the Daytona 500.

The southern-California based manufacturer and lifestyle brand will promote its acclaimed Ashwagandha dietary supplement which, when used over time, combats stress and provides numerous benefits for the body and brain. Ashwagandha (commonly called Indian Ginseng) is one of the most highly prized botanicals in the ancient Ayurvedic system of India. It is often described as an “adaptogen” because it helps the body successfully adapt to stressful conditions.

The Ashwagandha livery will be displayed across the hood, upper-rear quarter panels, deck lid, roof and TV panel of LaJoie’s No. 7 entry. Youtheory Ashwagandha has been clinically proven to reduce stress and anxiety naturally, while also providing mental clarity and focus.

“Corey LaJoie shares the same values as Youtheory and we’re proud to support him once again as he competes at the highest level of the sport,” said Darren Rude, CEO of Youtheory. “As innovators in the health and wellness industry, Youtheory is excited to unveil the new Youtheory Ashwagandha No. 7 Chevrolet which will help educate NASCAR fans everywhere on this breakthrough product which is designed to ease stress, anxiety and provide clarity and mental focus.”

LaJoie finished eighth in last year’s Great American Race and earned a career-best sixth-place finish at The World Center of Racing in the 2019 Coke Zero Sugar 400. The Concord, N.C., native has logged nine total starts at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) on NASCAR’s senior circuit, including eight on the traditional 2.5-mile superspeedway and one on the daunting 3.61-mile road course.

“Youtheory played a key role in helping me continue my driving career as far back as 2016,” explained LaJoie. “It’s a privilege having them back on board for the best Cup opportunity I’ve ever had. I’m eternally grateful to Darren and Patty Rude for their continued support of my career. We’re going to give the Youtheory Ashwagandha No. 7 Camaro a heck of a run in the Daytona 500.”

The Concord, N.C., team co-owned by longtime NASCAR industry executives Jeff Dickerson and Thaddeus “T.J.” Puchyr announced in November that it inked the 29-year-old driver to a multi-year agreement to pilot the No. 7 machine. LaJoie will be flanked by teammate and 2010 Daytona 500 winner Jamie McMurray in the No. 77 Advent Health Chevy in the 2021 edition of the Great American Race.

The team earned its first win in NASCAR’s premier series in an upset of practically unprecedented proportions, when Justin Haley took the checkered flag at DIS on July 7, 2019.

“We’re thrilled that Youtheory has come aboard the No. 7 for the Daytona 500,” said Spire Motorsports co-owner T.J. Puchyr. “Corey has a long-standing relationship with Darren and Patty Rude and we’re grateful they’ve chosen to continue that relationship when he signed with Spire Motorsports. The car looks incredible and Corey does a great job on Superspeedways. We can’t wait to get to Daytona and see the Youtheory Ashwagandha Chevy in the Great American Race.”

The 63rd running of the Daytona 500 will be televised live on FOX, Sunday, February 14 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The first of 36 races on the 2021 NCS schedule will be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The team will field the Nos. 7 and 77 Chevrolet Camaros in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2021. Over the 2019-2020 seasons, Spire Motorsports logged 72 starts on NASCAR’s senior circuit and provided an entry for multiple drivers.

BRODY ROA’S CHILI BOWL WRAP UP AND 30TH BIRTHDAY

(Cypress, CA, January 25, 2021) Veteran Southern California racer Brody Roa opened his 2021 racing schedule with an appearance at the prestigious 35th Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The “Pride of Garden Grove” contested his preliminary night on Thursday, January 14th, and the finale two nights later on the 16th.

Roa’s Chili Bowl effort did not get off to an awesome start when he drew pill #98 for his Thursday heat race.  That meant he would have to start last (eighth) in the heat.  Compounding the issue was the fact that early on, the tiny track was proving extremely hard to pass on.  When the checkered flew on the eight lapper, he advanced one spot to finish seventh.  That meant he had to go to one of the C mains where he started and finished third.  That was good enough to transfer to a B main.

Going into the B, Roa had only passed one car on the night.  That may not sound so great, but on the bright side, no cars had passed him!  Things looked harsh in the B as it was providing the toughest field he had yet to face on the night.  And he was starting inside the last row in 13th!  The friendly driver needed to get all the way to fourth the transfer to the night’s A main.  Simply put, once the green flag flew, he was the show!  He sliced and diced his way past nine cars to finish fourth to earn his ticket into the main event.  For the A, he once again had to start in the back row in 24th and ended up finishing 20th

Roa’s name showed up in one of Saturday’s D mains and you guessed it, he was coming from near the back once again.  He started inside the eighth row in 16th and made some quick moves early on to advance all the way to 11th.  He got shuffled back a couple of spots and then had to take evasive action to avoid someone else’s mess.  That meant he would have to go to the back for the restart.  With everyone scrambling to get to the front in a short amount of time, somebody else’s mess cost Roa again and before he knew it, the checkers ended the race and his Chili Bowl effort with a 13th-place finish.

Today, January 25th, Roa celebrated an incredibly special 30th birthday as it was his first-ever birthday as a father.  If you would like to send him birthday wishes, please do so on his Facebook page at the following link https://www.facebook.com/br91r.

In addition to his season-long personal sponsors, HD Industries, Burris Racing, Biker Bruce Fisher, Norma Leonard, Molecule and K1 RaceGear, Roa would also like to thank Iron Dome Motorsports, Moonshine Motorsports, Jambo’s BBQ Pits, Race Jugs, Burkham Concrete, Precise Racing Products, Deaton’s Water Front Services, Industrial Instrument, Graham’s Wrecker Service, 380 Pawn, 777 Graphics, D&S Motorsports, Approach Marketing, Bell County Electrical Supply, Pro Tech Services, Express Car Wash of Texas, Mow Time, Texas Star Concrete, Abilene Powder Coating, Lil Mo’s Pizza, Sun Electric, Elliot’s Trailers, GPA Paper and Top Level Ink for being part of the Chili Bowl effort.

For anyone who is looking for a championship and main event winning driver for their car during the 2021 season, contact Roa at the phone number and E-mail in this release.  He will be available to race on nights that do not conflict with the USAC/CRA schedule.
