Rowe Breaks Through with First Series Win

NEWTON, Iowa (Saturday, July 12, 2025) – Myles Rowe took a historic INDY NXT by Firestone victory at Iowa Speedway and then took a bow.

Rowe earned the INDY NXT by Firestone at Iowa Speedway win by executing a stirring late-race pass for the lead, then held on to become the first Black driver to win a race in this series. His margin at the finish was 1.3927 seconds.

This is the second season in the series for the 25-year-old Georgia native who resides in New York and in 2023 captured the USF Pro 2000 Championship.

“It’s so good,” Rowe said after driving the No. 99 Abel/Force Indy entry to victory lane. “We’ve been working a minute for this, and we knew we had the pace. It was about waiting for the last half of the race and seeing what we could do with it.”

Fourteen laps from the finish, Rowe went around series points leader Dennis Hauger on the outside in Turn 4 as they came upon lapped traffic. Rowe’s experience paid off as Hauger, a series rookie, was competing in just his second oval race.

“We don’t stop here — I’m looking for a lot more than this,” said Rowe, who is fourth in the standings. “But I’m glad we could get this (win), for sure.”

The race featured 130 on-track passes and 55 passes for position, both figures ranking in the top three of INDY NXT by Firestone races staged at this short oval track.

Hauger’s strong run in Andretti Global’s No. 28 Nammo machine helped extend his series lead to 73 points over teammate Lochie Hughes, a rookie driving the No. 26 McGinley Clinic/USF Pro Championship entry. Hughes finished 16th in the 19-car race after being penalized for a Lap 3 incident with Rowe.

Hughes, the winner of last month’s oval race at World Wide Technology Raceway, was trying to hold off Rowe for second place when Rowe moved to the inside on the backstretch. Their cars touched, with Hughes’ left rear tire taking a brush from Rowe’s front wing. Race control deemed that Hughes moved defensively, drawing a drive-through penalty that dropped him down a lap to the field.

Andretti Global’s Salvador de Alba, who had turned the fastest lap in Friday’s practice, finished third in the No. 27 Grupo Indi entry.

Several drivers had spins off Turn 4 without contact. HMD Motorsports’ Josh Pierson tried to take the high line around teammate Caio Collet for third place on Lap 26, but he lost the back end of the car. On the ensuing restarts, Juan Manuel Correa of HMD Motorsports and Ricardo Escotto of Andretti-Cape Motorsport spun on Lap 30 while Davey Hamilton Jr. of HMD Motorsports did the same on Lap 34.

The series will be back in action at the end of the month when a doubleheader is staged at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27. Those represent the 10th and 11th races of the 14-race season.

(July 12, 2025) – JR Motorsports announced today that Roto-Rooter, a leading provider of plumbing, drain cleaning, and water cleanup services will return to the organization as a primary partner for seven NASCAR Xfinity Series events each year beginning in 2026, including races with Justin Allgaier and additional JRM drivers to be established at a later date. Sonoma, Calif. (July 11, 2025) – Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport heads west to the rolling hills of California’s Sonoma Raceway for this weekend’s Pit Boss/FoodMaxx 250—a technical 79-lap battle around the 1.99-mile, 12-turn road course that’s quickly become a fan-favorite on the NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule.

The Pit Boss/FoodMaxx 250 is one of the newest additions to the Xfinity Series calendar, first introduced in 2023. SEATTLE (July 11, 2025) – The NHRA FanFest presented by Explore Auburn is back for a third consecutive year on Thursday, July 17, bringing an impressive NHRA driver lineup to officially kick off the race weekend for the 36th annual Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways.

The event takes place from 5-7 p.m. PT on Thursday, July 17 in front of Dave & Buster’s at The Outlet Collection (1101 Outlet Collection Dr. SW, Auburn, WA 98001), with autographs and a meet and greet with NHRA standouts taking place from 6-7 p.m.

Scheduled to appear is an impressive list of drivers in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, including Top Fuel stars Ida Zetterstrom and Jasmine Salinas, Funny Car standouts Chad Green, Hunter Green, Alexis DeJoria, Buddy Hull, rookie Dylan Winefsky, Pro Stock’s Cory Reed, Mason McGaha and Chris McGaha, as well as Pro Stock Motorcycle points leader Gaige Herrera, Richard Gadson, defending event winner Chase Van Sant and Chris Bostick.

On Saturday, July 19, nitro teams will qualify three times at 12:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle will qualify at 3:45 p.m. and 6:05. Shane van Gisbergen scores back to back Xfinity poles at Sonoma

Shane van Gisbergen claimed the top starting spot at Sonoma Raceway, earning the pole position for Saturday’s upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series Pit Boss/FoodMaxx 250. It marks the fifth pole of his Xfinity Series career in 34 starts.

“Last weekend was epic,” van Gisbergen said. “JRM built me a rocket, and I’m glad our strategy ended up working out and we were able to get the win. I’m a lucky guy to be able to drive some fast Chevrolets.

“Looking forward to Sonoma this weekend. It’s an awesome track and I had a blast racing there last season and even brought home the win. Hoping to do it again this weekend for my No. 9 JRM team.”

He will share the front row with JR Motorsports teammate Connor Zilisch, a three-time Xfinity Series race winner. It will be an interesting matchup as Zilisch and van Gisbergen finished 1-2 last week at the Chicago Street Course, with van Gisbergen taking home the trophy.

Rounding out the top five in the qualifying session were Sam Mayer in third, Jesse Love in fourth, and William Sawalich in fifth.

Sammy Smith, Carson Kvapil, Brandon Jones, Sheldon Creed and Justin Allgaier completed the top 10.
Eight races are remaining in the Xfinity Series regular season and five available remaining Playoff spots.

If van Gisbergen takes the checkered flag on Saturday, it would be his third win of the 2025 season.

Thunderstorms Send Hauger to Pole at Iowa Speedway

NEWTON, Iowa (Friday, July 11, 2025) – INDY NXT by Firestone points leader Dennis Hauger will start from the No. 1 position for the INDY NXT by Firestone at Iowa Speedway race after the qualifying session was rained out. The field for the 75-lap race will take the green flag based on entrant points entering the event.

Hauger had the third-fastest lap in Friday’s abbreviated practice, turning a lap of 165.073 mph in Andretti Global’s No. 28 Nammo entry. His lap was part of the Andretti organization’s strong start to the weekend. Four of the team-related drivers turned laps among the session’s top five.

Hauger will start from the top spot for the seventh time in nine races this season. He started second in the other two.

Salvador de Alba posted the fastest lap of the 30-minute session at 165.518 mph in the No. 27 Grupo Indi car of Andretti Global. Myles Rowe was second driving the No. 99 Abel/Force Indy machine (165.421 mph).

“(A) shortened practice, but happy to be where we are,” de Alba said. “All the Andretti cars are pretty fast. We (turned) good laps at the very end with the used tires, so that gives us even more confidence.”

Ricardo Escotto was fourth in the No. 3 Frank’s Red Hot car of Andretti Cape Motorsports (164.623 mph). Rookie Lochie Hughes was fifth in Andretti Global’s No. 26 McGinley Clinic/USF Pro Championship entry (164.291 mph).

Andretti Global’s James Roe, who won the pole for last year’s race at this .894-mile oval, had the eighth-fastest lap in the No. 29 Topcon entry (163.267 mph).

Jordan Missig had the session’s only spin, a lazy excursion off Turn 2. He did not make contact with the No. 48 Abel Motorsports car, enabling him to continue after pitting.

The field was expected to include Sebastian Murray in the No. 2 DREAM RACING DUBAI entry of Andrett Cape Motorsport, but he was not medically cleared to participate in the wake of last weekend’s accident with Escotto at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Saturday’s 75-lap race starts at 1:30 p.m. ET. FS1, the FOX Sports app and the INDYCAR Radio Network will have the broadcasts.

Steve York Named ARCA Menards Series West Series Director

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 11, 2025) – The ARCA Menards Series announced today that Steve York has been selected as the new ARCA Menards Series West Series Director, effective immediately.

York enters the position following years of experience working in the motorsports industry. As a long time promoter, track owner and NASCAR Appeals Panelist, York brings a wealth of knowledge to the ARCA Menards Series West. York will be based out of Twin Falls,
Idaho, and will report to Ron Drager, ARCA President.

With more than four decades of experience in the motorsports industry, York has held a wide range of leadership roles throughout his career. A native of Tifton, Georgia, York earned his business degree from Valdosta State University in the 1960s before beginning his professional journey at UPS. However, it was in motorsports where he found his true calling—as a race promoter. In 1985, York built and began operating Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho, transforming it into a premier NASCAR-sanctioned facility before selling the venue in 2007. Under his leadership, the speedway thrived, culminating in York being named RPM Promoter of the Year in 2005. Though no longer a track owner, York has remained active in the sport, serving as a NASCAR Appeals Panelist since 2015.

The Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway Outlook

The NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) heads to Sonoma Raceway, a 1.99-mile NASCAR configuration, multi-elevational paved road course, and drag strip located just outside of Sonoma, California.

Joey Logano won last season’s pole on June 8, 2024, with a lap of 97.771 mph (73.273 secs), and Kyle Larson executed a late pit strategy for a wild Cup victory. Larson led twice for 19 laps in an event where he dodged a series of on-track carnages within the first two stage periods. Larson was able to pace his No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 entry smoothly around Sonoma’s 12-turn circuit for the final eight laps for his second win at his home track.

With the four poles (2017, 2018, 2019, 2022), Larson leads all active NCS drivers in poles at Sonoma.

Celebrity Chef Tyler Florence Named Grand Marshal For Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway

(July 10, 2025) – Sonoma Raceway officials announced today that celebrity chef, restaurateur and television personality Tyler Florence will serve as the Grand Marshal for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race on July 13. As Grand Marshal, Florence will deliver the iconic command, “Drivers, start your engines,” ahead of NASCAR’s only stop in Northern California.

“Tyler’s infectious energy and deep-rooted connection to Sonoma County makes him a perfect fit to be a part of the Toyota/Save Mart 350 and celebrate NASCAR’s return to wine country,” said Brian Flynn, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sonoma Raceway.

A beloved figure in the culinary world, Florence has deep ties to the Bay Area and Sonoma County. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Florence has called the Bay Area home for over two decades, where he has become a cornerstone of the region’s vibrant food scene. His passion for local, sustainable ingredients resonates with Sonoma’s wine country spirit, and his commitment to the community has made him a celebrated figure in the region.

Florence owns and operates several acclaimed restaurants in the Bay Area, including Wayfare Tavern in San Francisco and Miller & Lux at Chase Center, where he showcases his modern take on American cuisine. His connection to Sonoma is further strengthened through his advocacy for the region’s farmers, winemakers and artisans, often featuring their products in his dishes and public appearances.

As a television personality, Florence has been a fixture on Food Network for over 25 years, starring in and hosting numerous shows. Sonoma Raceway is a 2.52-mile, 12-turn road course and quarter-mile drag strip located at Sears Point in Sonoma County, California. Built in 1968 the track is carved into rolling hills with 160 ft of total elevation change. It is host to one of the few NASCAR Cup Series races each year that are run on road courses. It is one of the world’s busiest racing facilities, with track activity scheduled an average of 340 days a year. A complete and versatile motorsports complex, it is home to one of the nation’s only high-performance automotive industrial parks with approximately 70 tenants.

● Year Two, Full Throttle: In January, Young’s Motorsports announced that NASCAR Xfinity Series veteran Anthony Alfredo would compete full-time for the team in its second year of Xfinity Series competition.

The 2025 season will mark Alfredo’s fourth full-time Xfinity Series campaign, and he joins the Mooresville, N.C.-based team after spending the 2024 season with Our Motorsports.

● All-Aboard!: For the 19th of 33 Xfinity Series races this season, Young’s Motorsports welcomes DUDE Wipes as the primary partner on the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro for the 79-lap race on Saturday afternoon.

DUDE Wipes is the flagship product of DUDE Products, a men’s hygiene company that was founded in 2012 by lifelong friends in Chicago.

● Anthony Alfredo NASCAR Xfinity Series Sonoma Raceway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s Pit Boss / FoodMaxx 250 will mark Anthony Alfredo’s third trip to the Northern California road course.

In his previous two starts at the 1.99-mile road course, Alfredo has completed all but 37 of the laps between the 2023 and 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series seasons.

His best result came during the 2024 edition of the Zip Buy Now, Pay Later 250, where he earned a track-best 31st after starting 16th, while driving for Our Motorsports.

Overall, he holds an Xfinity Series average finish of 34.0 at the 10-turn California road course.

In addition to his two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, Alfredo has also had a lone NASCAR Cup Series start at Sonoma Raceway in 2021, finishing 31st after starting 28th for Frow Row Motorsports in the 92-lap Toyota / Save Mart 350.

A strong showing — or perhaps a breakthrough win — in Saturday afternoon’s race at Sonoma Raceway could mark a defining moment in their postseason push.

The Pit Boss / FoodMaxx 250 headlines a high-stakes doubleheader weekend in the heart of California wine country, where the familiar roar of stock cars is met with a twisting, technical and sometimes unforgiving road course.

Saturday’s 79-lap Xfinity Series battle is more than just a race — it’s a true test of precision and patience. Sonoma’s dramatic elevation changes, sharp switchbacks, and narrow racing grooves demand near-flawless execution from green to checkered.

Then on Sunday, July 13, the NASCAR Cup Series takes center stage with the Toyota / Save Mart 350. The marquee event not only showcases the sport’s premier talent but also continues the in-season $1 million challenge, serving as the seventh race in the second leg of the regular season.

● Anthony Alfredo Xfinity Series Career Stats: Entering Sonoma, Alfredo has 136 NASCAR Xfinity Series races to his credit, earning a career-best third-place finish twice, most recently at Talladega Superspeedway after starting 11th in the 2024 edition of the Ag-Pro 300 for Our Motorsports.

Since 2020, he has earned one pole, five top-five, and 23 top-10 finishes and has an average finish of 19.8.

● Chicago Street Course | The Loop 110 Race Recap: The NASCAR Xfinity Series made its third annual trip to the streets of downtown Chicago this past weekend, serving up a unique brand of street course action during a spectacular Independence Day weekend celebration.

For Young’s Motorsports, the weekend began with high hopes, particularly during practice, where the team aimed to dial in their No. 42 Dude Wipes Chevrolet Camaro. However, a mechanical issue during the 50-minute session kept the car sidelined in the garage for much of the allotted time.

Thanks to quick and determined work by the Young’s Motorsports crew, the problem was resolved just in time for Anthony Alfredo to get a handful of crucial laps in the final minutes of practice — valuable seat time on one of the most challenging layouts on the schedule.

Alfredo continued to build momentum in qualifying, clocking the 28th-fastest lap in a crowded field as he looked to move forward once the green flag dropped.

That’s exactly what he did.

From the drop of the green flag, Alfredo methodically worked his way through the field, and a well-executed strategy at the end of Stage 1 vaulted the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro into the top-10 — positioning the team for what appeared with some luck could be their second top-10 finish of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Unfortunately, despite showing top-10 pace, Alfredo’s promising run ended abruptly when engine issues struck midway through the race, sending him to the garage and dealing a blow to the team with a disappointing 36th-place finish.

Eighteen races into the 2025 campaign, Alfredo and the Young’s Motorsports crew remain determined to rebound and build momentum through the critical summer stretch, where rhythm, reliability and resilience will be key to staying in the Playoff hunt.

● Calling the Shots: Guiding Alfredo as crew chief of the No. 42 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro is longtime crew chief Andrew Abbott.

On Saturday, he will be crew chief in his 148th NASCAR Xfinity Series race. In his previous 147 races, he has four top-five and 14 top-10 finishes.

The season’s 19th race will be his second tango at Sonoma Raceway as crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

● Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR Xfinity Series at Sonoma Raceway: This weekend’s Pit Boss / FoodMaxx 250 will mark Young’s Motorsports’ second NASCAR Xfinity Series appearance at the famed road-course nestled in Wine Country of Northern California.

Last summer, rookie Leland Honeyman Jr. finished 29th after starting 29th, completing all but one lap.

Overall, between road courses and street courses, Young’s Motorsports has participated in nine NASCAR Xfinity Series races, with a best effort of 16th last summer at Watkins Glen (N.Y.). International with driver Leland Honeyman Jr.
