 DETROIT (Nov. 21, 2024) – For the second consecutive year, and the sixth time overall, Chevrolet swept the manufacturer championship titles across the NASCAR national ranks – earning its 43rd NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championship; its 26th Bill France Performance Cup in the NASCAR Xfinity Series; and its 12th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Manufacturer Championship. This marks the first time in NASCAR history that a manufacturer has swept the manufacturer championship titles across all three NASCAR national series in consecutive seasons.

RFK Tabs Jeremy Bullins to Lead No. 6 Team

Bullins Reunites with Driver Brad Keselowski for 2025 and Beyond

CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 21, 2024) – RFK Racing has announced that Jeremy Bullins, veteran crew chief in NASCAR, has joined the organization, reuniting with driver/co-owner Brad Keselowski to lead the No. 6 team beginning in 2025.

“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with BK again, this time in the iconic No. 6 car with RFK,” said Bullins. “We were able to accomplish a lot as a team previously, but we had a couple of unfinished goals like a Daytona 500 win and a championship together and I’m ecstatic we get the opportunity to compete together again. From the outside looking in it’s been obvious the trajectory RFK is on, and I look forward to being part of the growth and future success of the team.”

Bullins – a winner of 31 races in the sport – joins RFK after a decade-plus stint in the Cup Series with Wood Brothers Racing and Team Penske, working with drivers Ryan Blaney, Keselowski, Austin Cindric, and Harrison Burton. He most recently led the No. 21 team, earning the organization’s famed 100th victory at Daytona this summer.

Prior, he was paired with Austin Cindric and the No. 2 team, which came on the heels of Keselowski’s departure of Team Penske at the end of the 2021 campaign. Together, Bullins and Keselowski finished second in the 2020 points standings, and won five races in the Cup Series in the 2020-21 seasons.

WELCOME, NC (November 20, 2024) – Richard Childress Racing announced this week several key competition leadership appointments ahead of the 2025 NASCAR season.

Keith Rodden has been promoted from interim competition director to vice president of competition for Richard Childress Racing, where he will play a larger role in competition administration functions for the 55-year-old race team. In his new role, Rodden will provide forward thinking and direction in all areas of performance and budgeting and lead strategic performance-based partnerships, including technology collaborations with Chevrolet, Dow and Lenovo.

“I’m honored that Richard Childress, Torrey Galida, Mike Verlander and everyone at RCR have put their faith in me to take on a larger role on the competition side of operations as vice president,” said Keith Rodden, vice president of competition for RCR. “I’m excited for the future of this company and the promising new hires we have joining the great group we already have in Welcome. RCR has all of the resources in place to excel in 2025 and beyond, including a robust group of partners who we have already been meeting with to help contribute to our success.”

John Klausmeier has joined RCR as technical director, overseeing all technical engineering activities for the high-performance motorsports team and focusing his energies on vehicle systems engineering, design and metrology. The Baltimore, Maryland, native will provide departmental oversight for RCR’s talented team of engineers and crew chiefs. Daniel Hemric inks full-time Truck ride with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2025

Daniel Hemric has been named a full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing’s No. 19 Chevrolet Silverado RST entry for the 2025 season.

The news comes as Hemric, the 2021 Xfinity Series champion from Kannapolis, North Carolina, is coming off his second full-time campaign in the Cup Series and first with Kaulig Racing in the series. Throughout the 36-race schedule, Hemric notched four top-10 results and an average-finishing result of 23.0 before settling in 29th place in the final standings.

“This is a great opportunity for me to compete for wins and chase another championship,” Hemric said. “Thanks to Bill McAnally, Bill Hilgemann, NAPA, Chevrolet and everyone involved for the opportunity. It’s a big milestone season to be a part of with NAPA’s 100th anniversary and the 35th year of Bill’s partnership with them. We’re going to do everything we can to get the NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet in victory lane and be in contention for a championship.”

Hemric, who grew up competing in go-karts before trancending his way to Bandolero and Legends cars as he would claim the Legends Million victory in 2010, made his inaugural presence within NASCAR’s top three national touring series in the Truck Series at Martinsville Speedway in October 2013. Driving the No. 6 Chevrolet for Sharp Gallaher Racing, Hemric finished 32nd in his Truck debut and would proceed to finish 13th in his second Truck start at Phoenix Raceway two races later.

After making a single Truck start with NTS Motorsports in 2014 at Homestead, Hemric graduated to a full-time driving role in the series and in NTS’s No. 14 Chevrolet Silverado entry for the 2015 season. During the season, he notched four top-five results, 13 top-10 results and finished seventh in the final standings. The following season, Hemric transitioned to Brad Keselowski Racing as he piloted the No. 19 Ford F-150 entry. During the season, he made the series’ inaugural Playoffs and finished in sixth place in the final standings on the strengths of 11 top-five results, 17 top-10 results, 119 laps led and an average-finishing result of 8.6.

Since graduating to the Xfinity Series in 2017, Hemric would proceed to campaign in two full-time Cup seasons (2019 & 2024), claim the 2019 Cup Rookie-of-the-Year title and achieve both his first race victory and championship during the 2021 Xfinity Series finale at Phoenix Raceway. Within his run, he made a single additional start in the Truck Series, which occurred at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May 2018 as he finished 21st while driving for Young’s Motorsports.

Through 50 current starts in the Truck Series, Hemric has recorded 15 top-five results, 30 top-10 results, 137 laps led and an average-finishing result of 11.1 as he strives to achieve his first victory in the series and maintain the competitiveness of McAnally-Hilgemann Racing’s No. 19 team that is coming off a four-race winning season with Christian Eckes, who also made the Championship 4 round before settling in third place in the final standings.

With his plans set for the 2025 season set, Daniel Hemric’s return as a full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor is set to commence at Daytona International Speedway on February 14. The event’s broadcast time is scheduled to commence at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

Riley Herbst joins 23XI Racing for first Cup campaign in 2025

Riley Herbst will etch a new beginning to his racing career by joining 23XI Racing for his first full-time campaign in the NASCAR Cup Series division in 2025.

Herbst, a 25-year-old racer from Las Vegas, Nevada, will assume the steering wheel of the No. 35 Toyota Camry XSE entry sponsored by longtime partner Monster Energy. He will compete alongside Tyler Reddick, driver of the No. 45 Toyota, and Bubba Wallace, driver of the No. 23 Toyota.

The news comes as Herbst is coming off his fifth consecutive full-time campaign in the Xfinity Series, where he piloted the No. 98 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang entry to two victories, 15 top-10 results and a seventh-place result in the final standings after qualifying for his fourth Xfinity Playoffs. Following the closure of Stewart-Haas Racing at the conclusion of the 2024 season, Herbst was initially left without a ride for the 2025 season until his announcement at 23XI Racing was officially announced. As Herbst makes the move to 23XI Racing, Davin Restivo, who served as Herbst’s crew chief in the Xfinity Series, will also move to continue to serve as his Cup Series crew chief.

“It’s an honor to join 23XI and Toyota for the opportunity to race in the Cup Series each week,” Herbst said. “Racing full-time in the Cup Series has been my goal since I started in NASCAR and I’m excited to start my Cup career with such an accomplished and driven team. Herbst, a former ARCA Menards Series Rookie-of-the-Year recipient and a two-time Baja 1000 Trophy Truck Spec Class winner, made his Cup Series debut during the 2023 Daytona 500, where he piloted the No. 15 Ford for Rick Ware Racing to a 10th-place finish. He would make three additional Cup starts between Rick Ware Racing and Front Row Motorsports for the remainder of the 2023 season, where he competed at Daytona in August and in both Talladega Superspeedway events. During the span, he notched a career-best ninth-place result at Talladega in October. This past season, Herbst made four Cup starts with Rick Ware Racing, where he notched a season-best 24th-place result during the 66th running of the Daytona 500.

In addition to making a total eight Cup starts to date, Herbst has made 175 career starts in the Xfinity Series and 11 in the Craftsman Truck Series. Within his Xfinity starts, he has notched three victories, two poles, 34 top-five results, 86 top-10 results, 506 laps led and an average-finishing result of 15.2 while competing between Stewart-Haas Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing.

The addition of Herbst as a full-time Cup competitor to 23XI Racing marks a milestone moment for the organization, which will field three full-time entries for the first time since debuting as a single-car operation in 2021 before expanding to fielding two full-time entries in 2022. Over the previous two seasons, 23XI Racing had fielded a third entry on a part-time basis (five races total), where select names that included Corey Heim, Kamui Kobayashi, Juan Pablo Montoya and Travis Pastrana took turns piloting the entry.

Currently, 23XI Racing has recorded eight victories, eight poles, 46 top-five results, 83 top-10 results and 1,889 laps led through a combined 257 Cup Series starts. The organization is coming off one of its strongest seasons to date, where Reddick and Wallace accumulated a combined 18 top-five results and 35 top-10 results. In addition, Reddick notched three victories and transferred all the way to the Championship 4 round before settling in a career-best fourth place in the final standings.

“As 23XI enters our fifth season next year, we felt the time was right to continue the growth of our organization by adding a third team, and Riley is a driver we think will be a great fit for us,” Steve Lauletta, team president of 23XI Racing, said. “We have a very solid foundation with both Bubba and Tyler, and we know they will be a great resource for Riley as he begins his journey in the Cup Series.”

The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season for both Riley Herbst and 23XI Racing is set to commence with the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 2 that will commence at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. This event will be followed by the 67th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway that will air at 2:30 p.m. ET on FOX.

Logan Sargeant Completes First INDYCAR Test with Meyer Shank Racing

Thermal, Calif. (20 November 2024) – Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) is keeping busy in the off-season and continued its NTT INDYCAR SERIES testing program on Tuesday at the Thermal Club. Former Formula 1 driver and American racer, Logan Sargeant took his first laps behind the wheel of an Indy car for the one-day test on the west coast with MSR.

With MSR’s IMSA and INDYCAR stable of drivers set for the 2025 season, MSR team co-owner, Mike Shank chose to give Sargeant the opportunity to explore a new kind of racing machinery while also helping the team make some off-season progress to prepare for the 2025 INDYCAR season which gets underway in March in St. Petersburg, FL.

“The goal was to have a look at him,” said Shank. “We’ve always felt that he deserves a shot at something over here, whether it’s in INDYCAR or GTP or whatever the future may hold. We went ahead and had a good, strong look at him. He’s one of those top F2 guys and he got his shot at F1 and now he has a shot at INDYCAR and we really wanted to see what he was all about.”

With the day consisting of three sessions, Sargeant was quick to get up to speed in the Indy car and adapt to the nuances that the car has to offer. Sargeant’s pace was among the quickest of the six cars running on Tuesday, topping the time sheets following the morning session.

With 80 laps completed, the young American racer left the test feeling both confident and satisfied with the performance in his first time behind the wheel of an Indy car.

“I thought the Indy car was fun for sure, it’s very different from any other car that I have driven before,” said Sargeant. “I felt like we were chipping away at it throughout the day and were trying some different set up stuff – some good, some bad. I’d say the most surprising thing was how the tires were pretty ‘peaky.’ They were pretty difficult to nail on a lap, I had thought that they would have a bit of a longer peak.

“Working with MSR has been amazing. Everyone on the team is great to work with, everyone is super nice. It’s a great atmosphere here and I had a nice time working with them.”

With the goal of evaluating Sargeant for potential opportunities in the future, Shank was pleased with the performance that he saw from Sergeant.

“He (Sargeant) was everything that I had hoped for and he caught on really quick,” said Shank. “He helped us through a lot of things that we had to get through with Honda and he was pretty much what I expected to be honest. And on top of that he is just a good person, we like to have good people around. You never know what may happen in the future, but we now know what we have with him for sure.”

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES season opener is set for March 2nd on the streets of St. Petersburg, FL.

LOGAN WILLIAMS HAS HIS BEST SEASON TO DATE

(Ontario, CA, November 18, 2024) Logan Williams, the youngest of the three Williams brothers racing in the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series, recorded his best season to date in 2024. Driving the recognizable Flowdynamics #5W, he steered his way to a sixth-place finish in the championship standings. The finish and accomplishments achieved by the 28-year-old during the year have him ready to return when the series commences on the other side of the new year.

Williams, who lives in Yorba Linda, California, had perfect attendance in the 20th season of the series that is headquartered in Southern California. In the 22 races that comprised the schedule, he started the A main 21 times. In those, the friendly driver finished in the top five six times and the top ten 15 times.

Of the top five, his best outing was a second at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on the second Saturday in June. He also placed third and fourth two times each and had a fifth-place result.

“I would not say satisfied,” Williams responded when asked about his 2024 campaign. “We obviously wanted to win, but it was definitely our best season by far.”

“Probably almost winning at Perris,” the 28-year-old quickly answered about his highlight of the year. “We led 21 laps or whatever. And Santa Maria when we had a good chance to win when Chiaramonte won. Also, when I finished second at Kern. Those three right there stand out for me.”

While the 2014 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year has been a formidable competitor throughout his career, his performances in 2024 were noticeably improved over his previous campaigns. In fact, he was a contender every time he came to the track during the year.

“Just figuring stuff out with the cars, and me being able to do better towards the end of the races,” the confident driver said when asked what propelled him to such a good season. “Me, my dad, Randy, and Clayton worked on the car. Mike English (a past top competitor in the series) set up my car at the last race.”

Amongst the series regulars that Williams squared off against at every race were his two older brothers, Cody and Austin. That provided an interesting angle coming into the last race of the year. Cody, the eldest of the siblings, was sixth in the championship standings and Logan was seventh. However, the gap between the two was only 10 points coming into the finale at Perris Auto Speedway on November 9th. Before the main event, Cody added a few more digits when he was the second-fastest qualifier on the night. At that point, it looked like Logan would be forced to settle for seventh in the points race.

Magnifying his advantage, Cody was starting fifth in the main while Logan began the final battle of the year in ninth. But, Cody left the fray on lap 22 and placed 18th. With Logan rolling forward from ninth to sixth, he earned enough points to take the sixth spot in the standings back from his brother and thus, earned bragging rights over the winter.

“You try to race everybody as hard as you can,” he replied when asked about racing against his brothers. “You try to be a little more careful around them, I guess. We all want to do good and want each other to do good as well.”

Now with some time off, Williams is going to kick back a bit before sliding back into the cockpit early in 2025.

“Not much, to be honest,” Williams laughed when asked about his winter plans. “Just work on the car a little bit and enjoy my time off until we start racing again. We plan on running the full season next year. We may have some trouble getting some funding to make it the whole year, but as of right now, we plan on making all of them.”
