PATRICK EMERLING ROARS INTO POCONO RACEWAY WITH CAMELBACK RESORTS & DINOBEACH

MOORESVILLE, NC, July 10, 2024 – NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Patrick Emerling today announced he is partnering with Camelback Resorts for this Saturday’s race at Pocono Raceway. This marks Emerling’s 13th primary marketing partner in the 14 races he has run this season.

“We’re thrilled to partner with SS-GreenLight Racing and driver Patrick Emerling in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this year! Race weekend at Pocono Raceway is one of the highlights of the summer, and this year we are lending a few surprise attractions to the event. We recently converted Camelbeach into “Dinobeach” by adding 40 life-sized dinosaurs, half of which are audio-animatronic – so look for a few of those to appear at the raceway,” said David Makarsky, managing director of four-season Camelback Resort. “We can’t wait for kids of all ages to race to our Pocono Mountain resort for outdoor adventures, waterslides and, and of course, the dinos. Here’s to a great race year and good luck to Patrick and car number 07!”

Nestled in the scenic Pocono Mountains, formed 400 million years ago, Camelback Resort is a year-round destination ideal for adventure-packed multi-generational family travel and experiences. With a nod to its prehistoric roots, in 2024 the resort welcomed “Dinobeach,” an animatronic exhibit of life-sized dinosaurs situated throughout the resort. The 560-acre resort includes Camelback Mountain for unsurpassed skiing, snowboarding and snowtubing; Camelback Mountain Adventures for ziplining, a treetop obstacle course and alpine mountain coaster; Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark, Pennsylvania’s biggest outdoor waterpark; and Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, voted regularly as one of USA Today’s top Indoor Waterparks.

Accommodations are available at Camelback Lodge, an eight-story mountain modern-designed hotel with 453 guest suites, featuring many dining choices including ski-in/ski-out restaurants, a fitness center, 20,000 square feet of flexible conference and meeting venues and 170,000 square feet of indoor adventure and entertainment space. For reservations and more information, call 1-855-515-1283 or visit www.CamelbackResort.com.

“Having grown up in Buffalo, I’ve always known the Poconos as a honeymoon destination. But Camelback Resorts redefines the region as fun for the entire family. I’m looking forward to bringing my family back here when we have time to enjoy all that their waterparks have to offer,” said Emerling. “As a huge fan of the Jurassic Park movies, I was impressed to learn that Don Lessem, an advisor on the original movie, created the dinosaurs at Dinobeach. I’m hoping to run into a couple of them at the track!”

Additionally, Emerling will welcome back season-long partners SimForge, which sells sim racing equipment and accessories, and Frontline Optics, a San Diego sunglass brand owned by a retired firefighter.

The green flag drops for the Explore The Pocono Mountains 225 on Saturday, July 13 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcast live on USA, MRN and SiriusXM.

Noah Gragson Joins Front Row Motorsports Beginning in 2025

Gragson to Continue NASCAR Cup Series Growth with Ford Performance Organization

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 10, 2024) – Securing its second driver for 2025, Front Row Motorsports (FRM) has signed Noah Gragson to a multi-year agreement to drive in the NASCAR Cup Series. The announcement was made today at NASCAR Studios in Concord, N.C.

The Las Vegas, Nevada native rose to fame in NASCAR after winning twice in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and 13 times in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He finished second in the Xfinity Series championship in 2022.

Gragson, 25, is currently in his second season in the NASCAR Cup Series and has 59 starts in the premier division. He has seven top-10 and two top-five finishes, most coming this season once joining Stewart-Haas Racing and Ford Performance.

FRM believes Gragson’s recent performances are only signs to come.

“We feel that this is a great opportunity and the perfect time to bring Noah to our organization,” said Bob Jenkins, Owner, Front Row Motorsports. “He has just the right amount of experience in the NASCAR Cup Series to breakout and become a winner for years to come. This season, Noah has started to get the finishes, and race consistently up front, which was expected from him.

“Joining our team, staying with Ford Performance, and welcoming him to our partners, we are only going to accelerate his opportunity to win races and compete in the playoffs. This is the driver that we want to help get us more wins.”

Gragson is happy to announce his future today with FRM.

“I think a lot of people have seen the growth of Front Row Motorsports over the past several seasons in the NASCAR Cup Series,” said Gragson. “This team, with Ford Performance, has shown it is capable of winning and wants to win more. Meeting Bob (Jenkins) and Jerry (Freeze), there is a determination and plan to continue to grow and compete against the absolute best. There is a strong commitment on their part, and I am ready to give it my best next season.

“Until that time, I want to say that I’m staying focused on the task at hand at Stewart-Haas Racing to finish the season with intentions of racing for wins with them.”

FRM will announce a crew chief, the car number, and partners for Gragson later this season.

Gragson joins Todd Gilliland in the FRM NASCAR Cup Series stable for next season. FRM will announce its third and final NASCAR Cup Series driver for 2025 and beyond at a later time.

CLUB QUOTES

John Hunter Nemechek, Driver of the No. 42 Dollar Tree Toyota Camry XSE:

“You got to focus on all three corners, there’s a reason it’s called the ‘Tricky Triangle’. There are three completely different corners, and it is difficult trying to get your car to work in all three. It’s huge to have exit speed and being able to get back to throttle and carry it down the straightaways at Pocono; It kind of makes or breaks your day as far as having speed or not having speed.

“I think we know the potential is there, it’s just putting it all together, being able to bring fast cars to the race track and all of us doing our jobs. [Last weekend] was a confidence builder knowing that we can get speed out of our Toyota Camry XSE’s, it’s just a matter of how we do that and execute. We showed up with a lot of speed last weekend which was good right off the truck. I had a really solid race in the wet, in the dry, and we were able to make the most of that, however, the finish doesn’t show that but a bunch of small wins and hopefully something to build off of. “

Ben Beshore, Crew chief of the No. 42 Dollar Tree Toyota Camry XSE:

“We will be working hard using our tools to try to make the balance consistent through the three corners. If you are loose on one end of the track and tight on the other, it puts you in a box for adjusting on the car during practice and the race. I’m optimistic that we can carry some of our momentum from last week into Pocono.”

Erik Jones, Driver of the No. 43 Family Dollar Toyota Camry XSE:

“I look forward to Pocono because it’s been one of my better tracks. I’ve run really well there. I feel like it’s one of those places where we’ve ran well but haven’t gotten that win but we’ve been in contention for a lot of them over the years. I get excited to go there knowing it’s been a good track, a place I’m comfortable at and a place I’ve had some good cars at, feel like I know what I need out of my car to have a good day. The three corners are very different and turn three has probably become the most important over the last handful of years and has been important for a long time – it’s kind of a technical corner. Two is kind of a flat-out corner and one is kind of a traditional corner at any race track, you can find it in a lot of places. I think it’s fun to break it up, do something completely different and have a track that challenges you as a driver but also challenges your team to find something that will be balanced in all three corners.”

Dave Elenz, Crew chief of the No. 43 Family Dollar Toyota Camry XSE:

“Pocono is always a challenge, because the corners are so much different. Turn one, you have a lot of speed and a lot of load. It really requires a car that turns good and has a lot of capability to get through that corner. Then you go to turn two that is fast and is a lot of commitment from the driver, but not as much load, so it’s really hard to give the driver the confidence he needs to get through the corner and stay on the gas. Then you get into three and it’s more like a short track corner where you don’t have a lot of load and its really just kind of out of the race track and hard to navigate. The challenge with that one is it leads into the longest straightaway, so you have to have the throttle down with the least amount of downforce right there. They’re pretty unique, each corner, and it’s very difficult to come up with a set up that maximizes each one of those corners to its full potential so you really have to work on your compromise and make sure your overall speed is good and know which straightaway you’re trying to set up for the most.”

Jeb Burton and Puryear Tank Lines To Run Blackhawk H-60 Helicopter Tribute at Pocono Raceway

Puryear Tanklines teams up with the Fort Indiantown Gap Army National Guard Training Installation and The Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation to honor the Blackhawk H-60 Helicopter at the Pocono Raceway

STATESVILLE, N.C. (July 10, 2024) — The H-60 Blackhawk is a workhorse for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Blackhawk aircrafts are used daily at Fort Indiantown Gap to train warfighters how to fly, instruct, and maintain this aircraft throughout the U.S. Army. The 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade used the Blackhawk heavily in their most recent deployment in the Middle East 2020-2021, supporting thousands of troops supporting Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR).

Puryear Tanklines and Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport have teamed up to honor the “workhorse of Army aviation” with a special paint scheme mimicking the design of the iconic aircraft. The US Army has more than 2,000 Blackhawks in service. This is more aircraft by quantity than any other aircraft in the Army. When you combine all the variants of the Blackhawk, it is the largest fleet of aircraft than any other aircraft in the entire US military. It entered service in 1979 and will continue to serve in the U.S. Army for decades to come.

The special scheme also highlights a unique partnership with The Fort Indiantown Gap Army National Guard training installation and The Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation (WBWF). The Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation has been the lead partner to the Army National Guard for the Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) program at Ft. Indiantown Gap for 10 years. The REPI program is administered through the Department of Defense in effort to conserve properties around military bases. These conservation efforts reduce incompatible uses around the bases such as high-density development, and offer additional indirect benefits including protecting rural culture and family legacy farms. The military services utilize non-profit partners, like WBWF, to work directly with landowners to conserve willing landowner lands. The program is truly a win-win-win for the installations, landowners, and surrounding communities.

WBWF has the privilege of working with the Ft. Indiantown Gap base and 2 others in Virginia by providing experience in natural resource sustainment, conservation, and land management. With everyone working together in concert, the military missions will be protected from encroachment while the beautiful rural landscapes will be conserved for future generations.

“On behalf of The Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation and our wonderful partners of over 10 years at Ft. Indiantown Gap, I’m thrilled to see this paint scheme come together on the 27 Chevy to highlight the H-60 Blackhawk thanks to the generosity of Puryear Tank Lines. To commemorate the day, I’ll have the opportunity to attend the race along with over 50 soldiers in training at the base and cheer on the #27 and honor the brave men and women that protect our freedoms”

Puryear Tanklines has long supported military and Veteran initiatives. Since its founding in 1959, Puryear has been committed to supporting the women and men of the U.S. military. “Over the years, we’ve had numerous people work for us who were also in active reserve units,” said Ron Patterson, Director of Safety & Risk Management at Puryear Tank Lines.

Former Puryear Tanklines driver Sergeant Jeremy F. Hardison will be remembered on the name rail of the No. 27 Chevrolet. Jeremy’s passion for engineering led him to enlist in the National Guard in May 2006 to fulfill his dreams of going to college and designing aircraft. He then deployed to Iraq from 2008 to 2009. In 2011, Jeremy decided to join Puryear Tank Lines after getting referred by his dad, who has been a Puryear driver for over 20 years. In 2012, Jeremy’s unit was called to active duty in Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. Tragically, on October 1, 2012, Jeremy and two other soldiers were killed when an insurgent detonated a suicide vest while they were on foot patrol in Khost, Afghanistan.

Jeb Burton is excited to get behind the wheel on what is sure to be a special weekend. “I’m so proud to honor Sgt. Hardison as well as the work done by the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation. The sacrifices that the men and women make to defend our country is something that I am forever grateful for.” Jeb also serves as a board member for his father’s Foundation.

Team Owner Jordan Anderson echoes the excitement for the special scheme “We are incredibly honored to partner with Puryear Tanklines and the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation to pay tribute to the H-60 Blackhawk and the brave servicemen and women of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. This special paint scheme is a testament to the dedication and sacrifice of those who serve, and we’re excited to hit the track with this meaningful tribute and give it our all at Pocono.”

Tune into the NASCAR Xfinity Series Race at the Pocono Raceway on Saturday July 13th at 3:00 PM ET. The race will be broadcast on the USA Network.

Yamaha Announces New YZ250FX & WR250F

Along with Additional Updates to Off-Road Lineup

MARIETTA, Ga., July 10, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is introducing its new lineup of 2025 off-road motorcycles with thrilling options for enthusiasts ranging from young beginning riders to seasoned professionals. The spotlight for 2025 falls on the exciting and ultra-capable new YZ250FX and WR250F. Based closely on Yamaha’s class-dominating YZ250F motocrosser, the new YZ250FX and WR250F are both designed to be slim, light and agile off-road weapons, ready for competition straight out of the box. The YZ250FX includes specific suspension and engine tuning suited to the extreme conditions of cross country racing, while the WR250F is prepped for enduro with unique engine and suspension tuning, an H4 headlight, LED taillight, shortened muffler with spark arrestor and other specific enduro features.

New 2025 Yamaha YZ250FX

Fresh off claiming last year’s XC2 GNCC title, the new 2025 YZ250FX features an extensive list of enhancements designed to further boost its class-leading performance and capability. With a revamped chassis, updated suspension tune, and reconsidered ergonomics, the new FX is lighter, sharper and more agile, with a better handling feel. Perfect for carving up tight cross country courses.

Updates to the 2025 model begin with a completely redesigned aluminum bilateral beam frame. Based on the competition-proven YZ250F, the new frame provides just the right amount of strength and flex for the perfect balance of stability and cornering performance. The redesign also includes model-specific engine mounts and lightweight subframe. The result is a better handling machine with lightweight feel and increased front wheel traction, allowing the rider to enter corners with greater confidence and more line choices.

Complementing the revised frame, the YZ250FX’s class-leading, fully adjustable KYB® suspension is 10mm shorter and includes updated settings to deliver exceptional balance between handling and bump absorption, along with less pitch on corner entry/exit. The revised frame and suspension settings also result in a lower center of gravity for improved maneuverability in tight, technical terrain and an easier reach to the ground. Additionally, the front fork now includes a new hand-adjustable knob for easy, toolless compression adjustments.

Ergonomics are also enhanced, with a slimmer, flatter, more compact body lending a razor-thin feel and effortless body movement when shifting weight forward and back. The rider triangle is more generous as well with more space between the seat and foot pegs.

Other notable changes for 2025 include a completely redesigned intake system along with optimized ECU settings for better control on the low-end and even more mid- to high-end power. The new FX also receives the next generation of Yamaha’s industry leading Power Tuner App, now even simpler to use with a quick-adjust slide bar for easy engine tuning, and more functionality including new four-level Traction Control. Best of all, it’s still free-of-charge.

Toyota Racing Weekly Preview 07.10.24

This Week in Motorsports: July 8 – 14, 2024

· NCS/NXS/NCTS: Pocono Raceway – July 12-14

PLANO, Texas (July 10, 2024) – NASCAR returns to the “Tricky Triangle” at Pocono Raceway with all three national series in action with just two race weekends before the Olympic break.

NASCAR National Series – NCS | NXS | NCTS

Reddick lead Camry XSE in Cup Series points … Following his second-place finish in Chicago, Tyler Reddick is now the top Toyota Camry XSE in the Cup Series points, sitting in third position just 23 behind the points lead, while also currently in fifth in the Playoff points standings. Joining him inside the series points top-10 are Denny Hamlin (fourth), Martin Truex Jr. (fifth), Christopher Bell (eighth) and Ty Gibbs (ninth). Bell also continues to lead the Playoff standings heading to Pocono.

Hamlin seeks Pocono repeat … Pocono Raceway is one of Hamlin’s most successful tracks, where he holds seven career victories, a track record, including in last year’s exciting race – which he earned Toyota’s 600th NASCAR victory. A repeat victory at Pocono for the driver of the No. 11 Camry XSE would be his fourth triumph of 2024 as he looks to climb the series and Playoffs points standings. Toyota also goes for four wins in the last six races at Pocono.

Reddick top-10 streak continues … The runner-up finish for Reddick on Sunday in Chicago also extended his top-10 finishing streak to three, as well as six of the last seven races. Overall, he leads the Cup Series with 13 top-10 finishes – two more than any other driver. The California native comes to the weekend with three consecutive top-10s at Pocono too, including runner-up finishes in the last two outings at the Pennsylvania track.

Toyota drivers doing double duty at Pocono … Running both the Xfinity and Truck Series races at Pocono this weekend will be Corey Heim and Taylor Gray. Heim will pilot his full-time No. 11 Tundra TRD Pro Friday evening with TRICON Garage, followed by making his ninth Xfinity Series start this season on Saturday with Sam Hunt Racing in the No. 26 GR Supra, to which he has two consecutive top-10 finishes coming into the weekend. Gray, Heim’s Truck Series teammate, will run the No. 17 Tundra TRD Pro on Friday and the No. 19 GR Supra on Saturday for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). Both seek their first career Xfinity Series wins.

Ryan Truex back in GR Supra … Also returning to the Xfinity Series is Ryan Truex, who will run the No. 20 GR Supra for JGR. Truex is making his first start since Portland and looks for his second victory this season after his Dover triumph in the spring. The No. 20 team also seeks their sixth win of the season, most recently triumphant at Nashville with John Hunter Nemechek.

Three Tundra TRD Pros in Playoffs … Heading to Pocono this weekend, three Tundra TRD Pro and TRICON Garage drivers find themselves inside the Truck Playoffs in Heim (second), Taylor Gray (seventh) and Tanner Gray (10th). With his four wins on the season, Heim also finds himself in first in the Playoff points standings. Their Toyota teammate, Stewart Friesen, sits right outside the Playoffs in 12th place, just 17 points behind 10th with six races remaining in the regular season.

Wright back in the No. 1 … Wexford, Pennsylvania, native, Kris Wright, is back with Team Toyota and TRICON Garage this weekend at his home track of Pocono piloting the No. 1 Tundra TRD Pro. Wright has made 46 career starts in the Truck Series, his most recent at Texas earlier this season, which was also in the No. 1. Friday will be Wright’s third career Trucks start at Pocono Raceway, his first since 2022.

Notes of Interest

● Deep in the backwoods of Long Pond, Pennsylvania lays the three-cornered Pocono Raceway, known as “The Tricky Triangle” for its three unique corners. Josh Berry, the NASCAR Cup Series rookie points leader, will pull double duty at Pocono this weekend, competing in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race for AM Racing and Sunday’s premier event in the No. 4 Overstock.com Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Stewart-Haas Racing. Sunday’s race mark’s Berry’s first in the Cup Series at Pocono, but the 33-year-old driver is all too familiar with finding speed in the Pocono Mountains in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, having claimed a pole position and a race-high 51 laps led in July 2023, a third-place finish in July 2022, and another top-10 in 2021. Last year, Berry won the opening two stages before being involved in an on-track incident on the final lap of the race that relegated him to a 24th-place finish. Berry also turned laps behind the wheel of a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entry at Pocono in 2021, when he started 20th and finished 11th, coming up just short of what would have been his second top-10 that season.

● It was announced last Wednesday that Berry will drive the No. 21 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Wood Brothers Racing starting in 2025, taking over for Harrison Burton.

● Berry’s Sunoco Rookie of the Year points lead is by a 31-point margin ahead of second-place Carson Hocevar. With just six races left in the regular season, Berry is ranked 21st in the overall Cups Series standings, 64 markers behind the 16th-place playoff cutline.

● Rodney Childers, crew chief for the No. 4 team, has 34 starts as a shot-caller in NASCAR’s premier series at Pocono. In those races, Childers’ drivers have recorded one pole position (Kevin Harvick in July 2019), one win (Harvick in June 2020), 12 top-five finishes, 16 top-10s, an average starting position of 14.1 and an average finishing position of 13.9. More importantly is Childers’ model of consistency, with only one Pocono DNF.

● Overstock.com adorns Berry’s No. 4 Ford Mustang Dark Horse at Pocono. The partnership amplifies the recent relaunch of Overstock.com, home of crazy good deals that offer quality and style for less. Overstock.com is for the savvy shopper who loves the thrill of the hunt and it includes product categories customers know and love, like patio furniture, home furniture and area rugs, while reintroducing jewelry, watches and health-and-beauty products.

Josh Berry, Driver of the No. 4 Overstock.com Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Pocono Raceway is known as “The Tricky Triangle,” having three distinct corners with very different requirements for speed. Which is the most challenging and why?

“I think turn three is the most difficult because it is the last corner before the long straightaway, and getting your car turned well enough to have good drive off and carry speed down the straight is important. If there was any corner to pick to have your car set up for, it would be that one for me. But they are all different and that’s what makes that place so hard. You can’t give away too much in other corners or you will be so far back that any advantage you gain in the final turn wouldn’t outweigh the loss in the other two corners.”

In the Xfinity Series, you have shown a lot of pace and nearly won the race last year. What does it take to put a complete race together at Pocono?

“Track position is a premium at Pocono. Being able to be up front and stay up front is a priority there. which sounds cliché, but it’s true. I have had fast cars there and being able to be up front and have a good strategy that keeps your car up front keeps it in clean air and, for the most part, keeps you out of any risks that can end your day early.”

You are pulling double duty this weekend, running both the Xfinity and Cup Series races. How much does that benefit you for Sunday’s race?

“Anytime you can get behind the wheel and cut laps in a race setting is going to be helpful. Simulators can only go so far, so to be able to get track time and see how the surface evolves, what I need out of the car, and how to run lines that I think can work or develop is going to give me an advantage in how quickly I can adapt to the Cup Series car. I am excited to get to run in the Xfinity race, too, because after how last year ended for me, I am ready to try and get some redemption and go try to win.”

Now that you know you’ll be racing for the Wood Brothers next year, does that lift some of the pressure off your shoulders and let you go race without that weighing on you?

“Yeah, I think in the back of my mind, I can just go race now. My whole career has been a series of tryouts and having the ability to go out there this weekend and know that I am secure for the foreseeable future gives me a sense of freedom to just go race and have fun. Obviously, the whole No. 4 team still wants to win, and we are committed to doing that, but having my deal signed just gives me the chance to really go focus on doing my best each weekend and not having to deal with the distractions that come with trying to get a ride for next year.”

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 10, 2024) — Thad Moffitt will be back on track this weekend with Young’s Motorsports in the familiar No. 46 Chevrolet Silverado at the Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.

Leading chefs prefer JJS’ duck for its perfectly balanced meat-to-fat ratio, providing the signature succulent flavor of the famous JJS Tasty Duck. The family also offers its farm-fresh duck to home cooks of all levels shipped directly through TastyDuck.com.

Moffit, who is moving over to Young’s Motorsports with his partners beginning this weekend, is proud to support an American brand with local roots.

“It’s amazing to think what Joe Jurgielewicz and Son has done with their brand,” said Moffitt.

“From their farm in Pennsylvania, they are serving their ducks in restaurants from Asia, Mexico and right here in the United States. Once we partnered with them this season, we knew they were determined to tell their story to NASCAR fans. That is what we have been doing, and we will now do it in a big way.

“This is why I am proud to be carrying their brand this weekend at Pocono with Young’s Motorsports. This is their home state, and we want to show them a fun time.”

Fans can learn about the family history, delicious recipes and the latest news by visiting tastyduck.com. They are eager to share their story with fans of the sport.

“This partnership is all about two family businesses working together to educate fans about our company and duck,” said Joey Jurgielewicz III, Director of Business Development, Joe Jurgielewicz and Son, Ltd.
