Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the caution filled Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway. The victory was Earnhardt's fourth of the year and it was an emotional one. Ten years ago a Hendrick company plane went down during the fall Martinsville weekend killing all on board including Ricky Hendrick and John Hendrick the son and brother of Earnhardt's car owner Rick Hendrick.
This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to Martinsville Speedway for the Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 and the first race of the Eliminator Round. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is also on track for the Kroger 200.
Kevin Harvick took the lead on the final restart of the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to grab the win and secure his spot in the next round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup. He led a race high 162 laps on the way to his third victory of the season.

Joey Logano claimed his first win at Kansas Speedway on Sunday in the Hollywood Casino 400. Logano started fourth and was in contention to win all day and was able to capture his second win in the chase and locked himself into the next round. The win was also important for the team, it takes the wild card Talladega Superspeedway out of the picture for Logano in two weeks.
Kevin Harvick took the pole for the Hollywood Casino 400 with a speed of 197.621 mph or 27.325 seconds It is his third pole in a row at Kansas Speedway. The pole was Harvicks eighth of the season and his 21st top ten start in 2014.
Jeff Gordon won the AAA 400 at Dover Delaware and sealed his transfer to the next round of the Chase. Gordon came home ahead of Brad Keselowski, and Jimmie Johnson. It is his fourth victory of the season and his 92nd Sprint Cup career win.
