No. 32 Dollar General Chevrolet News and Notes

· Sorenson Survives Talladega – Even though he wheeled a limping car to the checkered flag, Reed Sorenson and the No. 32 Dollar General team survived their second of three restrictor-plate races of the season with a ninth-place finish, the second consecutive top-10 for the team. Sorenson also led six laps during the event and moved solidly into fourth-place in the driver’s point standings, only 19 points behind Turner Motorsports teammate Jason Leffler.

· Sorenson at Nashville Superspeedway – Nashville is a very special place for Sorenson as it is the site of his first Nationwide Series (NNS) win which came back in 2005 during his track debut after starting from the pole position. In his six NNS starts at the 1.25-mile superspeedway, Sorenson owns three top-fives, four top-10s, one pole and 241 laps led with an average starting spot of 12.2 and an average finishing position of 9.2. Sorenson has also completed 1348 of the 1350 laps he’s attempted for a 99.9% completion rate.

· Home Track Advantage – This weekend’s Nashville 300 will be raced in the backyard of No. 32 team sponsor, Dollar General which is located just 30 miles away in nearby Goodlettsville, Tenn. On Thursday, Sorenson and fellow Turner Motorsports teammates will spend a few hours at the headquarters, visiting and spending time with employees.

· Dollar General Partners with Autism Speaks – Throughout the month of April, Dollar General is offering customers the opportunity to make donations to Autism Speaks during check-out to honor Autism Awareness month. In the first eight days of their efforts, customers contributed $496,000, which is more than was contributed throughout the entire month-long campaign last year. The Autism Speaks logo will appear on Dollar General’s NASCAR Nationwide Series No. 32 car, driven by Reed Sorenson, throughout the month of April to raise awareness for the campaign.

· Filling Up the Stands – Because the race is being run in Dollar General’s backyard, close to 1000 employees and their families will be filling the stands of Nashville Superspeedway for Saturday’s race to cheer on Sorenson and the No. 32 Dollar General team.

· Got My First Real Six String… In hopes of bringing home the custom Gibson guitar trophy on Friday night,Sorenson and his Turner Motorsports teammates will take a private tour of the Gibson Guitar Factory in Nashville on Thursday afternoon. The home of Gibson electric guitars, ‘Gibson USA’ was built in ‘Music City’ in 1974.

· This Week’s Impala – This weekend, Sorenson will pilot TMS-122 in the Nashville 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. This is the same chassis he drove to a seventh-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway just two weeks ago.

Sorenson on a big week in Nashville:

“This is a really big week for me and this entire race team. I’m looking forward to spending the time at Dollar General headquarters because it’s nice to spend time with the employees and thank them all personally for the support they give us every week. I’m really excited to see all of them up in the stands too, cheering on this No. 32 team. I’m excited about coming back to Nashville Superspeedway as it’s the place I got my first career win. We have some really solid stats there and I’d love to get back to victory lane, especially in Dollar General’s backyard. That would truly be an awesome day.”
