THE QUOTES

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Mustang:  HAS NASHVILLE BEEN A LOVE-HATE RELATIONSHIP FOR YOU?  “It has not been our specialty, for sure.  I love Nashville and the city and the fans that come out there, but I haven’t gotten along with the racetrack too well.  We haven’t been there with the Mustang yet, and I feel like I’m a little stronger in the Mustang.  I feel like our team has a little better handle on the Mustang, so I’m looking forward to getting there.  I think we’ve got a good setup for us with the stuff we’ve been working on.  The Roush Fenway guys have been working really hard on it, so I’m actually looking forward to getting back there and kind of redeeming ourselves there.”

Mike Kelley, Crew Chief, No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Mustang: “Nashville is a tough little track because it races kind of like a mile-and-a-half but it also is a heavy braking track.  It’s concrete so it throws a lot of little things at you.  Brakes are important there but you’ve got to have a good enough aero-balance because it’s high speed.  That was probably one of the toughest races of my career last year because we had a really good car in practice and we were in a situation where we needed to qualify in on time and spun out in qualifying and missed that show and for an organization the size that we are and the amount of clout that we have in the garage to load up a Roush Fenway car, that was a gut-checker.  We’re not in that position right now but that race played a lot in the role of getting our season turned around and getting us on the right track last year.  There’d be nothing better than to go back there and come out of there with a win and get Ricky one of those guitars.”
