Kahne claimed the $10,000 prize which will be donated to his charity of choice, the Kasey Kahne Foundation.

As NASCAR’s version of a “slam dunk contest”, The Pennzoil Ultra Victory Challenge is a competition that puts some of NASCAR’s finest against one another to showcase their best post-win celebratory skills – otherwise known as the “burnout”. This year’s format allowed an increased involvement from the fans in the stands and at home with a text-to-vote opportunity. After the panel of judges selected the top three burnouts from the freestyle competition, fans were allowed to vote by texting specific codes after seeing replays on SPEED at home or on Charlotte Motor Speedway’s World’s Largest HD Video Board from the stands.

An all-star line-up that included Shell-Pennzoil driver Kurt Busch and defending Pennzoil Ultra Victory Challenge champion Joey Logano, Regan Smith, Brad Keselowski, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch and Kasey Kahne, continued to make the fourth annual Pennzoil Ultra Victory Challenge another exciting event during the Sprint All-Star weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

After the judges deliberated the freestyle burnouts, Kahne, Kyle Busch and Joey Logano emerged as the top-three finalists and the fate of the winner was put in the hands of the fans. The fans spoke and Kahne took the top prize claiming the trophy and check for this year’s event.

“This is a really neat event and I am excited that the fans picked us to win,” said Kahne about being voted the best burnout by the fans. “We had a lot of fun tonight and I want to thank Pennzoil for inviting us to be part of such a great event. The Kasey Kahne Foundation will put the prize money to great use and hopefully we can make a lot of kids happy.”
