Fast & Fun Facts:
• Jason has nine series starts at Texas Motor Speedway, the most starts at any track on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series circuit. So, as they say, “Everything is bigger in Texas,” White hopes to capitalize on his experience at the 1.5-mile track and bring home his first series win.
• The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will have two practice sessions and qualifying on Thursday, June 9 at Texas Motor Speedway. Unfortunately, none of the action will be televised. Therefore, follow @TeamJDM23 on Twitter for live updates regarding the No. 23 GunBroker.com Chevrolet and Jason White.
Over The First Eight: In the season’s first eight events, White has earned one top-10 and four top-15 finishes. The Richmond, VA native has led four laps and recorded an 18.37 starting average coupled with a 19.12 finishing average and has completed 91.9 percent of all laps attempted (1196 of 1301).
White’s Texas Stats: In nine previous NCWTS starts at the “Great American Speedway,” White has led three laps and earned one top-10 and four top-15 finishes. His best finish of 8th came in June 2009. Additionally, White has an average start of 21.6 and an average finish of 19.1.
Whatcha Haulin?: White will pilot chassis “50Cal” in the 27th NCWTS race at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday. This is the same chassis that White drove to his series best finish of third in 2009 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He also piloted this chassis eight times in 2010, recording two top-10 and seven top-15 finishes. “50Cal” will make its debut with Joe Denette Motorsports in this weekend’s WinStar World Casino 400k.
Rearview Mirror-Kansas: Although White recorded his best start at Kansas Speedway to date of 13th in last weekend’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 250, an ill-handling Chevrolet Silverado contributed to a 17th-place finish in the eighth event on the 2011 NCWTS schedule.
Get to the Point: Following a disappointing 17th-place finish for White and JDM at Kansas, the No. 23 GunBroker.com team sits 20th in the 2011 NCWTS owner point standings; a mere 11 points out of the top-15 and 28 markers outside the top-10. White is currently 18th in the 2011 NCWTS driver point standings.
We’re Guessing He Signs His Name Fast Too: White will join other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers for an autograph session on Friday, June 10 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Texas Motor Speedway Midway.
