Matt Kenseth – NSCS ADVANCE

Team: No. 17 Kroger Ford Fusion

Crew Chief: Jimmy Fennig

Chassis: Primary: RK-741 (last raced at Indy)

Kenseth on racing at Michigan International Speedway:

“Michigan is one of my favorite tracks throughout the season and I always look forward to going to Michigan since it’s the Midwest and close to my home state of Wisconsin. We had a really great race here in June starting third and finishing second, and our whole organization usually has a lot of success at Michigan. It’s really important to have a good-handling car at Michigan since it’s a big sweeping track with plenty of room to pass. If you can get your car to handle the right way, you can have a lot of fun racing there. Racing at Michigan is also significant because the area is the headquarters for Roush Industries and Ford Motor Company, so it’s always a big weekend for us at a place we consider one of our home tracks.”

Crew chief Jimmy Fennig on racing at Michigan International Speedway :

“Roush Fenway usually runs well at Michigan and it’s always a place we try to finish well at since Ford Motor Company and Roush Industries are headquartered nearby. Matt has had a lot of success at Michigan, and two-mile tracks in general, so we always look forward to a strong performance at Michigan. This is a great place to race because it’s a track that allows drivers to race for track position as long as you have a great-handling race car. Strong cars are usually able to drive their way through the field at Michigan since it’s a wide track which gives drivers many different lines to run.”
