CORNELIUS, N.C. – No. 00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota driver David Reutimann is traveling to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend hoping for a replay of his 2010 visit to the 1.5 mile oval in Joliet, Ill. Reutimann’s last trip to Chicagoland Speedway on July 10, 2010 ended with family and crew celebrating in victory lane in last year’s Lifelock.com 400. It was the second career Sprint Cup Series win for Reutimann and his first in over a year.

ON CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY: “We’ve kind of had the race at Chicagoland Speedway circled on our calendar since we left and it’s definitely one of our better racetracks, so we’re pretty ready to get there, get after it and see what happens. This race is going to be a little different now that it’s being run during the day instead of at night. With track temperatures being a little warmer, I’m expecting things to be a little more slick then we’ve seen during the night races. So I’m expecting that we’ll be sliding around a lot and we’ll have to work harder to make the car better – I think that’s the biggest thing.”
HOW WILL DRIVERS RACE EACH OTHER NOW THAT THE CHASE HAS STARTED: “It’s hard to say. We all have the capability of misbehaving no matter what the circumstances are. It was definitely an eventful race that we had last weekend in Richmond and hopefully we don’t have as much of that at Chicago.”
IS THERE ANYTHING ABOUT CHICAGO THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO:
“I really don’t get out and do too much during the race weekend, just keep to myself and try to focus on racing. I know that Chicago is a cool place and a great town, but I spend most of my time at the racetrack and don’t venture too far into the city. For me just being there and spending time at the racetrack is what I look forward to the most.”
LAST YEAR YOUR FAMILY WAS WITH YOU IN VICTORY LANE AT CHICAGO – ANY FAMILY COMING TO THE RACETRACK THIS TIME? “I’m not sure who’s going to show up this time. I’m normally the last to know, or I’ll find out until we get to the racetrack. I think my old man (Buzzie Reutimann) is going to race somewhere this weekend, so I’m not expecting to see him. Other than that, I really don’t know who is coming or what’s going on.”
ON WINNING THE POLE AT RICHMOND: “Winning a pole is great. It’s a great starting position. After you win a pole it’s a brief moment when you can enjoy it and then you start to remember that you have to figure out a way to stay up there for the whole race – and that’s the hard part. We haven’t qualified as well as we normally do this year, so hopefully we have started to put things in place to help our qualifying be better and more consistent. It was a good deal and I’m glad we won it, now we have to start winning some more.”

. Reutimann at Chicagoland Speedway: In four career NSCS starts at Chicagoland Speedway, Reutimann has an average starting position of 17th and finish of 18th. Reutimann led 54 laps and scored his second career Sprint Cup Series win in the Lifelock.com 400 on July 10, 2010. Reutimann has one win, three top-15 finishes and two top-10 starts at the 1.5 mile oval.
