AARON’S OUTDOORS TRACKS A NEW EXPERIENCE IN NASCAR

Brannen Family Visits Michael Waltrip Racing & NASCAR To Film Special

CORNELIUS, N.C. – Outdoor and motorsports worlds combine in a special Aaron’s Outdoors television episode that follows the Brannen family on a behind-the-scenes visit to Michael Waltrip Racing and the world of NASCAR. The 30-minute Aaron’s Outdoors episode airs Thursday Sept. 15 at 12:30 p.m. ET on VERSUS and again on Fox Sports South at 8 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 17.

The Brannen family joined MWR owner Michael Waltrip and No. 00 Aaron’s driver David Reutimann on a special tour of the MWR race shop and pit stop practice. The family also visited the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte and the May 7 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Darlington Raceway.

“Our show typically features our family’s adventures in hunting and fishing, but we’re always looking for exciting and creative new ways to entertain and educate our fans,” said Jarrod Brannen, who hosts the show along with his wife Leanne and their four boys Cole, Hatch, Toxey and Grey and daughter Mary Blake.

“Filming an episode with NASCAR Media Group and Michael Waltrip Racing was a natural fit for Aaron’s Outdoors. Not only are our fan bases similar but family-oriented as well. Through this episode, we’ll be able to give outdoor fans and NASCAR fans alike an inside look at the racing world through our family’s eyes.”

Waltrip said MWR approached NASCAR Media Group to turn Aaron’s idea for the program into reality. MWR and NASCAR Media Group have a year-long relationship creating digital content for the team and its partners. In the process he said he learned the outdoors and racing worlds have more similarities than differences.

“I think what draws people to the outdoors and to NASCAR is that you can share the experience with your family,” said the two-time Daytona 500 champion. “We saw how close the Brannens are and how much they enjoy their time together. We have so many families like that in racing both in the garage and as fans of the sport.”

Reutimann raced an Aaron’s Outdoors Mossy Oak paint scheme to a 16th-place finish on May 7 in Darlington where the Brannens watched from the pit box. He said viewers will see NASCAR through the wide eyes of Brannen family youngsters.

“They know all about fishing or going out in the woods hunting,” Reutimann said. “We got the opportunity to show them a little different version of the outdoors.”
