NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 33 of 34 – Phoenix International Raceway

LET’S HEAD OUT WEST: Clint Bowyer and the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team head west this week to Phoenix International Raceway for the 33rd race of the 2011 season. In 10 previous starts at Phoenix, the driver has one win (2007), six top-five and seven top-10 finishes. He has also led a total of 214 laps around the one-mile oval in the desert.

ON BOARD WITH RHEEM: Golden Dragon will have its logo featured this week on the C-post of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. Based in Monclova, Mexico, Golden Dragon manufactures the copper tubing which is used in all of Rheem’s Air Conditioning systems.

KHI AT PHOENIX: KHI has made 18 Nationwide Series starts at Phoenix International Raceway with a record of eight top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick holds the mark for best finish with a trio of second-place results behind the wheel of the No. 33 Chevrolet.

CHASSIS HISTORY: Chassis No. 066 has been prepared for this weekend’s race at Phoenix. The No. 33 KHI team utilized this particular chassis eight times this season including the first race at the track in February. Both Paul Menard and Harvick drove chassis No. 066 to a second-place finish at Richmond International Raceway in April and New Hampshire Motor Speedway in July respectively. Most recently, Bowyer finished third with this chassis at Dover International Speedway on October 1.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: After two weekends away from the race track, the Nationwide Series returned to action with a Saturday afternoon showdown in the Lone Star State. Bowyer rejoined the No. 33 KHI team to kick off the final three-race stretch and drove the Rheem Chevrolet to a fourth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: CLINT BOWYER

“Phoenix is one of my favorite tracks. It’ll be a completely different weekend though as compared to this past spring’s race since they’ve repaved it. I’m excited to get out there and see if we can’t get this Rheem Chevrolet into victory lane.”
