Roush Fenway Eyes Big Finish at Texas

After the Easter weekend off, Roush Fenway heads to one of its top tracks on the circuit – Texas Motor Speedway – where RFR has won 16 NASCAR races, including three there last season.

After one of the hottest starts on the circuit, Greg Biffle continues to lead the NASCAR Sprint Cup point standings. Biffle has started the season with top-six finishes in four of six races to begin 2012 and leads the standings by six points. On the Nationwide side, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., is second in the standings and continues to move closer to the lead. He will look to become the seventh RFR winner at Texas this weekend.

Overall Roush Fenway has posted 16 wins, 69 top fives, 118 top 10s and five poles, while leading 3,265 laps in combined NASCAR action at Texas Motor Speedway. Roush boasts wins in all three major series at Texas (8 Cup, 7 NNS, 1 Truck).

25 Winning Years: Roush Sweeps Inaugural Weekend at Texas

Roush Fenway won both the first Cup (Jeff Burton) and NNS (Mark Martin) races at Texas in 1997. In fact Roush Fenway won the first two Cup races at Texas and three of the first four NNS races at the track.

A total of six different drivers have won a total of 16 NASCAR races at Texas. All three of Roush Fenway’s Sprint Cup drivers have won at TMS (Edwards – 3 times, Kenseth – 2 times and Biffle 2005). Carl Edwards swept the 2008 Sprint Cup races at Texas Motor Speedway, leading a total of 335 laps in the two events. He is one of only two drivers to win both events at TMS in the same year.
