GAFFNEY, S.C. (May 29, 2012) – Mike Wallace and the No. 01 G&K Services Chevrolet team of JD Motorsports would very much like a repeat performance of last year’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway.
Once the mayhem stopped after the checkered flag, Wallace and team found themselves with a top-10 finish. This year, coming off a season’s-best finish of 15th at Charlotte, they’re hoping to keep that momentum going taking on the Monster Mile, high-banked oval this weekend.
Newt Moore and team have been working towards improving the handling of their Chevrolets each week back in the shop. With their hard paying off last week, the team is looking to capitalize on the upswing in their good fortunes.
Dover has been a good track for Wallace having posted one, of his four, NNS wins at the facility. Add that to last year’s good finish in this race there and there’s no lack of confidence in the JD Motorsports camp.
This week, Wallace’s teammate in the No. 4 Tradebank Chevrolet will be 64-years young driver, Brad Teague.
Mike Wallace Notes
· This will be career start No. 428 for the St. Louis native
· For the 2012 season, Wallace has made 11 starts completing 93.5 percent (2,004 of 2,143) of laps contested.
· He’s currently 12th in Driver’s Points trailing 11th by 22 markers.
· His win at Dover took place in 1994 for his best finish. His best start was eighth in 1996
· During his first 27 starts on the one-mile, high-banked concrete oval, Wallace has led five races for a total of 82 laps
· During that time, he’s completed 4,801 of 5,423 laps contested (88.5 percent)
· He’s garnered four top-fives and nine top-10 finishes at Dover
Brad Teague Info
At the young age of 64, Teague will be making his second start of the 2012 season and 19th one at Dover. He’s led 92 laps in three different races at the Monster Mile. During that time, the Johnson City, Tenn. native achieved one top-five and four top-10 finishes. He’ll be driving the No. 4 Tradebank Chevrolet for JD Motorsports.

Mike Wallace Quotes: “Dover is always an exciting place for drivers and fans. You absolutely have to keep your car pointed in the right direction there because, the minute you get sideways – someone is going to be at your door or quarter panel.
“I know you’re going to hear this quite a few times during the race, but it really is a self-cleaning track. If you go to the outside wall, the banking will send your right down to the bottom. We’re going to do our best to avoid that and have a great race.
“I’ve won at Dover before, had a top-10 run in this race last year and we’re coming off a pretty good week at Charlotte with our best finish of the season. Johnny (Davis, team owner) is giving us what’s needed to be better and I know he’s working hard so we can go racing every week. We want to have another great run for him to show our appreciation.”
