Tommy Baldwin Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Advance: New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Race: LENOX Industrial Tools 301

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: 19 of 36

Track: New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Track Length: 1 mile

Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) will head to Owner Tommy Baldwin’s home track this weekend. David Reutimann will pilot the No. 36 Mohawk Northeast Chevrolet in the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) on Sunday.

TBR AT NEW HAMPSHIRE – TBR made six starts at NHMS in three years. Although the team is fast each year at the mile-speedway, bad luck marred the team’s results in each event at Baldwin’s home track. Dave Blaney drove to the team’s best finish of 29th last July after a late race incident caused damage to his Chevrolet.

REUTIMANN AT NEW HAMPSHIRE – Reutimann made 10 starts at the “Magic Mile.” He collected one top-five and two top-10 finishes in his 10 starts and tallied his best finish of fourth in the summer of 2009. His best start of third came in the summer event last season.

BALDWIN SUCCESS AT NEW HAMPSHIRE – NHMS is a special track for Baldwin. Baldwin began competing at the mile-track in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT). He collected three wins in his career, two in the NWMT with Steve Park and Jeff Fuller and one in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) in 2002 with Ward Burton.

MOHAWK NORTHEAST – Specializing in heavy construction and marine construction, as well as tugboat transportation, Mohawk Northeast, Inc. offers its valued clients cost-effective, efficient solutions founded on engineering expertise. Their turnkey construction services also include facilities maintenance and fabrication and coating. Family-owned and operated since 1967, Mohawk Northeast draws strength from its stable work environment and passionate people. Their team’s collective qualifications allow us to properly pre-engineer projects at the bidding stage – saving time, money and effort during construction.

CHASSIS NO. 356 – Reutimann will pilot chassis No. 356, purchased from Richard Childress Racing in the off-season. The Florida native last drove this chassis at Kentucky Speedway. He also drove the chassis at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Auto Club Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway and Dover International Speedway this season. He had his best showing in the chassis at Kentucky Speedway where he drove from the 38th starting spot to a 23rd-place finish. His best qualifying effort was at Kansas Speedway where he qualified in the 16th spot.

IN THE POINTS – The No. 10 team is currently in 32nd place in NSCS Owner Points and locked into the top-35 by 111 points. The team is 11 points ahead of the No. 83 and trails the No. 38 by 25 points. Reutimann is in the 33rd spot in NSCS Driver Points. He is leading teammate Blaney by two points and behind Landon Cassill by six points.

David Reutimann Quotes: ON RACING THIS WEEKEND – “I’m looking forward to this weekend at New Hampshire. Tommy has always been good at this track and it’s his home track, so it is definitely a place he is very familiar with. This year our team has shown promise at the shorter tracks, so I am eager to see how we can do this weekend.” ###

About Tommy Baldwin Racing:

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin formed Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) in 2009. Baldwin utilized a declining economy to open a NSCS team with a stringent budget. The team worked to build to full-time competition, and by the 2011 season, the team’s third season, TBR competed in every race and locked the No. 36 Chevrolet in the top-35 in NSCS Owner Points. Dave Blaney drove the No. 36 Chevrolet to TBR’s highest finish of third in the October 2011 event at Talladega Superspeedway. TBR also fielded a second car for select races in the past two seasons with multiple drivers.

Based in Mooresville, N.C., TBR will compete in the NSCS in 2012 with NASCAR veterans David Reutimann and Dave Blaney. The team will also compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with Ryan Blaney, Bobby Santos and Ryan Truex.
