Parker Kligerman (No. 29 PlainitDIY.com RAM) Finished Fifth “These guys at BKR (Brad Keselowski Racing) do a great job with these PlainitDIY, Reese Towpower, Cooper Standard, Drawtite RAM trucks. They give us reliable trucks that can take a beating. This weekend, I don’t know what we were missing. Everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong. Doug (Randolph, crew chief) and all the guys never got upset. They didn’t get frustrated. We just put our heads down, went out there and got a good finish. Everyone did their part tonight. This was a team effort. It’s funny, I felt like we were two big adjustments from being able to win the thing. We’ll work on it and come back stronger next week.”

WHY WERE YOU SO SUCCESSFUL ON RESTARTS, GAINING SEVERAL POSITIONS IN THE FIRST LAP OR TWO? “We were loose all night, I mean wrecking loose. We fought and fought, did the best we could and Doug made all the adjustments he could. We just couldn’t get that last little bit. With all the things that were thrown at us, I’m really proud of these guys. We’re putting ourselves in position to make a run at these guys for this championship. I know the 31 (James Buescher) and the 17 (Timothy Peters) are on a roll right now but they’ll have a bad race or two and we can catch them.”

AFTER STARTING AT THE REAR OF THE FIELD, YOU RECOVERED AND WAS ABLE TO RUN IN THE TOP 10 THROUGHOUT THE SECOND HALF OF THE RACE. WERE YOU CONFIDENT AT THE START YOU COULD GET BACK UP WITH THE LEADERS? “We were able to drive up through the field at the start of the race pretty quick. We had made it up close to the top 15 in just a few laps. It’s a long race. It was still daytime and the race really comes together in the nighttime. We decided to pit during that first caution (Lap 8). For fuel strategy, it was the right idea as it allowed us to stay out longer and even lead some laps. But after the first green-flag stop, we had to drive back up through the field and it was tougher the second time on older tires. Still, it was a good night, a good finish.”

Doug Randolph (Crew Chief, No. 29 (No. 29 PlainitDIY.com RAM) HOW SERIOUS WAS THE TRACK BAR MOUNT ISSUE THAT PROMPTED THE DECISION TO CHANGE IT AND TAKE THE PENALTY (START AT THE BACK OF THE FIELD) TO START THE RACE? “In the grand scheme of things, if it had lasted four more laps and we didn’t change it and bent during the race, we would have been in big trouble, probably with a torn up truck. I call it good fortune. The guys did a good job all weekend. We made a lot of changes. We didn’t have the piece we wanted racing tonight but Parker did a great job, got what he could out of it and we had a couple of breaks at the end and got a top five. So, we can’t complain about the weekend.”
