IOWA SPEEDWAY RACE PREVIEW

Michael Annett• No. 43 Northland Oil Ford Mustang

Michael Annett has five career starts in the Nationwide Series at Iowa Speedway

Annett enters this weekend’s event in sixth-place in the Nationwide point standings

Annett will be eligible for the final Nationwide Dash 4 Cash $100,000 payout in Iowa

Michael Annett on Going to Iowa Speedway for the Second Time this Season: “We are really excited to go back to Iowa for the second time. We had a really fast race car there earlier this year and had some engine problems early on in the race. Once we got those fixed we drove right back up through the field and were running lap times that were comparable to the leaders. We know that we can compete for a win at Iowa in the No. 43, so we just need to put everything together this weekend and have a good run.”

Annett on Racing at his Home Track: “It’s always fun to go to Iowa Speedway because I always have a lot of friends and family that come out to watch the race. This weekend is even more special because we have Northland Oil on the car which is based out of Iowa. Racing in Iowa are the two chances out of the year that I have to showcase the reason I moved away from home at such a young age. I moved to North Carolina right out of high school, so normally my friends and family just get to watch me on TV and don’t truly understand what it’s like. This weekend is their chance to be able to come to the track and really see what my life is like now. It’s always nice to have that support in the stands that you wouldn’t have on a normal race weekend.”

Paint Scheme: Annett will have a different look this weekend as Northland Oil will be the primary partner on the No. 43 Ford Mustang at Iowa Speedway. Northland Products Company, headquartered in Waterloo, Iowa, formulates, manufactures, markets and distributes premium quality engine oil, lubricants, engine coolants and associated fluids throughout North America. Since 1908, Northland’s superior products and customer-driven service are provided to trucking fleets, OEM factory-fill, industrial, automotive and agriculture markets.

In addition, Annett’s car will feature pictures and endangered missing information on Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins on the deck lid and C-posts this weekend. Elizabeth and Lyric were last seen riding their bicycles on July 13, 2012. Their bikes were later found near Meyers Lake in Evansdale, Iowa. Anyone having information on the two girls should contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST or the Evansdale Police Department (Iowa) at 319-232-6682. Chassis History: The No. 43 RPM NASCAR Nationwide Series team has prepared chassis No. 644 for the 250-lap race at Iowa. This Pilot Flying J Ford Mustang was run previously this season at Richmond, Iowa and New Hampshire.

Notes: Annett has five NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Iowa Speedway. His best finish (seventh) and his best start (12th) came in 2010 at the .875-mile track. Annett heads to his home track in the sixth position in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings. His average start is 21.4 and his average finish is 11.4. Annett has finished no worse than 14th at Iowa Speedway.

Dash 4 Cash Winner: Annett was the Nationwide Series Dash 4 Cash (D4C) winner with his sixth-place effort at Indy last weekend and took home the $100,000 cash bonus. By virtue of his D4C win, Annett is automatically eligible for the D4C bonus this weekend in Iowa. He has been eligible for the D4C payout three out of the four times this year. This weekend concludes the D4C program and four lucky entrants will receive an all-expense paid trip to Iowa Speedway. The four fans will be randomly paired with Michael and the three other eligible drivers this weekend, and the fan whose driver wins the D4C award, also will go home with a check for $100,000.
