EGR at Atlanta: EGR has made 51 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS), earning five top-five, 11 top-10 and 19 top-15 finishes. In those starts EGR has completed 16,474 laps of a possible 17,130 laps, or 96.1 percent, and have led 146 laps. EGR has an average start of 21.2 and an average finish of 21.3 at Atlanta. Martin Truex Jr. has EGR’s highest start (first, 2009) while Sterling Martin has EGR’s highest finish (second, 2001).

JAMIE MCMURRAY AND THE NO. 1 BASS PRO SHOPS/Tracker Boats Team

Bristol Review: McMurray raced among the top-10 on a couple of occasions, however he had a difficult time trying to find the handle on the Bass Pro Shops Chevy, on the new track surface. McMurray commented one time to the crew, “I wish that I could help you with a suggestion for changes, but I am fighting both loose and tight conditions”. In the end the Bass Pro Shops team would be credited with a 17th-place finish.
McMurray at Atlanta: McMurray will be making his 19th career NSCS start at AMS this weekend. In his previous 18 races at AMS, McMurray has four top-10s.. His best start at the track came in the March 2009 race when he qualified third, and his best finish was a sixth-place effort in October of 2005. He has completed more than 96.5% of the laps run at Atlanta since his first race there October 2001 (5,914 of 6,123).
Intermediate Stats: McMurray has169 starts on intermediate tracks (1-2 miles) including two victories (Charlotte 2002, 2010) , 20 top-five and 47 top-10 finishes. He also has won three poles and led 840 laps.
Along for the Ride: This Friday morning at Atlanta Motor Speedway, McMurray will help kick off the weekend events in support of the American Cancer Society® and breast cancer awareness. Along with Chevrolet and Atlanta Motor Speedway McMurray and other NASCAR drivers will give breast cancer survivors the thrill of a ride around the track in specially-themed pink pace cars

JUAN PABLO MONTOYA AND THE NO. 42 TARGET TEAM

Bristol Review: The No. 42 Target Chevrolet started out in 28th and made a move to the front immediately. The team played on pit strategy with multiple two tire stops and minor adjustments throughout the night. The Target Chevrolet spent the entire race running in the top-15 and was displayed as high as the third position. When the checkered flag waved, Montoya would be credited with a 13th-place finish.
Previously at Atlanta: Montoya started off in the 12th position and made several efforts to push to the front of the group, Team Target would settle for a 15th place finish.
Montoya at Atlanta: This weekend will be Juan Pablo Montoya’s tenth NSCS race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He has racked up three top-fives, four top-10s and has led 34 laps at AMS. His best start came in March of 2010 when the Target Chevrolet qualified in third, and his best finishes came in September 2009 and March 2010 when he finished in third-place. Montoya has completed more than 97.4% of the laps run at Atlanta since his first race there in 2007 (2,875 -2,950).

No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet (NSCS): Chassis #1109. Crew Chief Kevin “Bono” Manion and the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats team will bring Chassis #1109 to Atlanta. This will be the first race for this chassis in 2012.
No. 42 Target Chevrolet (NSCS): Chassis #1107. Crew Chief Chris “Shine” Heroy and the No. 42 Target team will bring Chassis #1111 to Atlanta this weekend. This Chassis made its debut this season in Indianapolis where Montoya started 12th, and ultimately finished 21st.
