TrackingPoint Helps Put Scott Speed and Leavine Family Racing on Target for Texas Motor Speedway

CONCORD, N.C. (April 8, 2013) – Scott Speed and Leavine Family Racing (LFR) aim to be on target during Saturday night’s NRA 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway.

The No. 95 TrackingPoint Ford will carry Austin, Texas based TrackingPoint as the primary sponsor for the team’s homecoming. TrackingPoint is an applied technology company that created the first Precision Guided Firearm, a revolutionary new long-range shooting system that puts jet fighter “lock and launch” technology in a rifle, enabling users to hit moving targets at extended ranges.

Team owners Bob and Sharon and the Leavine family are from Tyler, Texas, so TrackingPoint joins familiar territory, joining other Texas native sponsors like Tommy Williams Drywall (TWD) and B&D Electrical.

“We put our hearts into the Texas race because it’s close to home, as close as Turn 2.” Bob Leavine said. “It’s great that we can take other Texans along for the ride. We really do things big in Texas, and this race team is no different.”

The team also will provide exposure for “Besties with Testies” to commemorate National Testicular Cancer month, as well as TeaZa Herbal Energy Pouch.

“We have a lot of great partners for our trip to Texas,” Speed said. “It’s important to make the experience memorable for all of them. We always bring our best car and our best strategy to every race, but we all put a little extra effort into Texas. The best way to show our appreciation is with a solid, lead-lap finish.”

Leavine Family Racing made their Sprint Cup Series debut at Texas on April 9, 2011. Since then, it’s been a constant for the team’s selective schedule.

Texas’ 1.5-mile, quad-oval layout generates some of the fastest race speeds of the year. Crew chief Wally Rogers said the new Generation-6 Ford, along with Roush-Yates Racing Engines, is a perfect combination.

“Our car will be fast,” he said. “The challenge is to find a way to keep that raw power under control, especially on the exits of Turns 2 and 4. We’ve learned a lot with the new car. We also have an extra day of testing on Thursday to get it dialed-in. We won’t be afraid to think outside the box.”

That’s the same principle behind TrackingPoint’s success. The XactSystem PGF accurately delivers five-times the first-shot success rate of traditional shooting systems out to 1,200 yards, regardless of the shooter’s skill level.

“TrackingPoint is proud to sponsor Scott Speed in the No. 95 TrackingPoint Ford for the NRA 500,” said Jason Schauble, president of TrackingPoint. “As a Texas-based applied technology company that manufactures Precision Guided Firearms with cutting edge jet fighter lock and launch technology, the NRA 500 and NASCAR are perfect partners for us given their reputations as the leaders in Second Amendment protection and performance racing, respectively. We wish Scott and the LFR team the best of luck.”

Bob Leavine said his team believes strongly in responsible gun ownership.

“The NRA is taking a national stand and stepping up race sponsorship to publicize their advocacy,” Leavine said. “This sponsorship supports a Texas race team. We want to raise awareness of Texas as a high-tech business state that supports not only NASACR but top-tier and responsible firearm production.”

The NRA 500, the seventh of 36 Sprint Cup Series races, is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. ET start on FOX.
