PIR ANNOUNCES RACE OFFICIALS FOR BLUE JEANS GO GREEN™200

PHOENIX– American Idol Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze will perform the national anthem prior to the start of the Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 presented by Cotton, The Fabric of Our Lives®, NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday, March 1, PIR President Bryan R. Sperber announced today.DeWyze released his debut album with Vanguard Records, Frames, last fall. He released two albums prior to his audition for Idol as the lead singer for the Lee DeWyze Band – So I’m Told in 2007 and Slumberland in 2010.

The Grand Marshal for the Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 will be Kevin Rogers, the President of the Arizona Farm Bureau Federation and the President of the Arizona Cotton Growers Association. Kevin is a fourth-generation Valley farmer who, together with his family, farms over 7,000 acres of land in the Valley of the Sun.

Diann Prechel, the former Director of Cotton Incorporated’s Board of Directors, will serve as the Honorary Starter and will wave the green flag to signal the official start of the race. She is a partner in Cotton and Bailey Farms and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Arizona.

Gates for the Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, with the green flag dropping at 1:45 p.m. Tickets for the race start at $15 and may be purchased online at PhoenixRaceway.com or by phone at 1-866-408-RACE (7223).
