EARNHARDT 27th IN PHOENIX NATIONWIDE RACE

AVONDALE, Ariz. – Jeffrey Earnhardt finished 27th Saturday in the Blue Jeans Go Green 200 Nationwide Series race, the second event of the season.

The race, dominated by Sprint Cup invaders, was shortened by 32 laps because of rain. It was scheduled for 200 laps. Kyle Busch was the winner.

Earnhardt started 25th and drove up to 18th early in the race.

Driving the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet for the second time, Earnhardt gained four positions in Nationwide driver points to 17th.

The No. 4 car carried a decal in memory of Kyle Davis, son of team owner Johnny Davis. Kyle died Friday.

“We raced today in memory of Kyle,” Earnhardt said. “He was at the heart of this team. Our condolences go out to Johnny and the rest of the family and the team members. Kyle loved this team.”

Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host the Nationwide Series this week.
