How important is Darlington to your career?

“Everybody says it’s one of the hardest places on the schedule — it’s one of my favorite tracks to go. I’ve had some solid runs there in the past. It really jump started my Truck program and re-boosted my Truck program there back in 2011. Off of missing the race at Phoenix we went to Darlington and had an incredible run and won the championship the following year. It was kind of the beginning of our championship run. It’s a fun place for me to go to and I’m good friends with Chip Wile the track president there so it’s a cool place for me to get to go to and I’m looking forward to Darlington a lot. I enjoy that race track and I think it is more of a driver’s track than a lot of them.”

How is the communication between you and Chris Rice?

“The communication between Chris Rice (crew chief) and I has gotten a lot better. It was a lot smoother in Texas through the whole weekend. It seemed to be a smooth weekend and we are understanding each other more and more — he started to learn me a lot more and we are able to communicate more efficiently.”
