This Week’s Shore Lodge Chevrolet at Charlotte Motor Speedway … Brian Scott will wheel chassis No. 460 in this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This Chevrolet SS was raced in March at Auto Club Speedway where Scott qualified 37th and finished 35th after an early-race accident.
Scott at Charlotte … Scott will be making his second Sprint Cup Series start at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He made his Cup debut at the 1.5-mile speedway last fall where he started 19th and finished 27th. In addition to his Cup Series start, Scott has eight previous NASCAR Nationwide Series starts, capturing one top-five and three top-10 finishes with an average start of 10.1 and an average finish of 17.5. Scott has completed 93.4 percent of the laps contested, with one lap led at the speedway. Scott also has two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts to his credit.

Don’t Miss Your Chance to Meet Scott … Scott will be racing three times this weekend, once in his Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet, once in his Shore Lodge Chevrolet SS and third with a grocery cart at Concord, Food Lion – 860 Union Street S, Concord, N.C. Scott will team up with a sweepstakes winner in a two-minute shopping spree at 3 p.m. ET followed by an autograph session at 3:15 p.m. ET.
Double Duty … Scott will once again pull double duty this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In addition to competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday night, Scott will continue to race for the Nationwide Series championship in his No. 2 Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet Camaro. The History 300 is live on ABC at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Rearview Mirror … In Scott’s last Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway, the No. 33 Shore Lodge Chevrolet team captured the pole position but was caught up in an accident on lap 137. Scott was relegated to a 42nd-place finish.

Charlotte Motor Speedway is where you made your Sprint Cup Series debut. You are also double duty this weekend. Are you looking forward to it? “Yeah, I’m looking forward to actually going back somewhere in a Cup car. That will be neat since I have a little bit of experience there. The Coke 600 is going to be a long race. I’m trying to mentally and physically prepare myself for that one already. I started doing that even before the Daytona 500 as really circling the 600 as the most mentally and physically tough race that I do all year and what do I need to do to be prepared. I do have some experience there, so I feel like I learned some lessons and know some things about our Chevrolet SS going there.”
What do you do to prepare for a grueling 600 miler?
“You just have to train smart. You have to work out in the right way. You have got to go to somebody that can help prepare you, whether that is a trainer, a friend, somebody that is going to push you and make sure that you keep digging when you might want to stop. Luckily, I’ve kind of established a routine for the last three or four years of working with a trainer. We talk about when races were more physically demanding and what we could do to work on that, even things that you do in your seat. I know before the 600 I will pay extra special attention to the ergonomics inside the car and sitting in it and making sure I do that all before the race. Tweaking every little thing, maybe nitpicking it more-so than I would any other race just because it is so long and grueling. Then I think the thing that helps more than anything is if you just have a good handling race car. That will make 600 miles a lot more of a pleasure.”
