Back At It…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) returns to the track this weekend in Dover, Delaware for the Lucas Oil 200 at Dover International Speedway. Four-time NCWTS champion Ron Hornaday Jr. will make his 10th-career start at the one-mile oval in hopes of scoring his second-career win at the Monster Mile. In his nine previous events at Dover, Hornaday has earned one win, three top fives, five top 10s, led 275 laps and has an average finish of 11.2.

This Week’s Silverado…The No. 30 Rheem Comfort Products team will unload chassis TSM-215 for this weekend’s race at Dover. TSM-215 was last on the track in November of 2013 at Phoenix International Raceway where Cale Gale drove it to a sixth-place finish.

On-Board View…The No. 30 Rheem Comfort Products team will carry an in-truck camera for Friday night’s shootout at the Monster Mile.

Gotta Have a Rheem…At Dover, Hornaday will once again pilot the No. 30 Rheem Comfort Products Chevrolet for Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM). Rheem Manufacturing Company (www.rheem.com) is privately held with headquarters in Atlanta. In its 88th year of operation, the company manufactures a full line of high-quality residential and commercial heating and cooling systems; tank, tankless, solar, and heat pump water heaters; swimming pool heaters and commercial boilers throughout North America and world markets. The company’s premium brands, including Raypak, Ruud and Rheem, have been recognized with countless industry and consumer awards for reliability, innovative design and high quality. Rheem is now in its eighth consecutive year as a NASCAR sponsor.

Watch and Listen…The Lucas Oil 200 can be seen live on Friday, May 30 on FOX Sports 1. Race coverage will begin at 5:00 p.m. EDT, and the event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Radio, channel 90.

Previous Race Recap…Hornaday took the green flag from the fourth starting spot as the sun was setting at Charlotte Motor Speedway. By lap 11, the No. 30 Rheem machine was in the second position. Hornaday held second place until lap 74 when he was involved in an accident with another competitor. The No. 30 Rheem Chevy came down pit road for minor repairs to the left- and right-side quarter panels. After restarting in the 20th position, Hornaday consistently worked his way through the field. On lap 85, the fifth caution was displayed and Hornaday dipped down pit road for fuel, which would give him enough to go the distance of the race. After two more quick cautions, Hornaday was working his way through the field when he was involved in an accident on lap 114. He drove the heavily-damaged Rheem Comfort Products Chevy to the garage and ultimately finished 19th for TSM.

Ron Hornaday Jr. on Racing at Dover International Speedway:

“Dover is a very fast one-mile oval and I really enjoy racing there. The guys at Turner Scott Motorsports have prepared me with another great Rheem Comfort Products Silverado for this weekend. We got caught up in an accident a few weeks ago in Charlotte, and that kept us from having another solid finish, so hopefully we can get back on track this week. I am looking forward to working with Doug George and hopefully getting this Rheem Comfort Products Silverado in victory lane. ”

Ben Kennedy
No. 31 Click It or Ticket Silverado
Dover International Speedway – Lucas Oil 200
May 30, 2014

Off To The Races…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will tackle its first all-concrete surface of 2014 as it heads to the Monster Mile of Dover International Speedway. Although Kennedy has never taken on the 1.0-mile oval in NCWTS competition, he has three previous starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE). Kennedy has finished within the top 15 in all three events, earning a best finish of fourth in 2012 and an average finish of 9.3.

Click It Or Ticket…This weekend at Dover International Speedway, Kennedy will be running the colors of the Delaware Office of Highway Safety’s Click It Or Ticket initiative. Since joining the national Click It Or Ticket campaign in 2003 and putting its primary seat belt law into effect, Delaware has seen an increase in seat belt use rate from 75-percent to 92-percent in 2013. This Friday will mark Kennedy’s second event partnering with the OHS, after running the Driver Sober, Arrive Alive DE paint scheme in the NKNPSE event at the Monster Mile last fall. The Office of Highway Safety is committed to improving the safety of Delaware’s motoring public by focusing on behavioral traffic safety issues such as impaired driving, seat belt use, aggressive driving, child passenger safety, pedestrian and bicycle safety, motorcycle safety and teen driving issues. As a Division of the Department of Safety and Homeland Security, OHS, like its sister agencies – the Delaware State Police, the Capitol Police, the Division of Alcohol, Tobacco Enforcement and DEMA – addresses public safety and driver behavior. For more information, visit BuckleUpDE.org.

Previous Race Recap…Kennedy overcame early handling issues and impressively avoided multiple on-track incidents to earn a top-10 finish in his first-career race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. After battling vastly changing handling through the first half of the race, Kennedy made what could have been his final pit stop of the night on lap 87 and was running just within the top 15. However, on lap 115, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender had worked his way up to the seventh position and had momentum on his side to continue his march to the front, but a competitor failed to clear Kennedy’s nose when making a pass, causing the other truck to spin and slide into the outside wall. Unscathed from the incident aside from cosmetic damage, the No. 31 team provided Kennedy with four fresh tires and tape on his nose for the final 13 laps of competition. Restarting 16th, the fresher tires and tweaked handling gave Kennedy what he needed to firmly break into the top 10, taking over the eighth position and skillfully avoiding a three-truck incident which ended the race on the white-flag lap.

Come Say Hi…There are a lot of chances to meet Kennedy and score an autograph this week in Dover. On Wednesday, May 28 Kennedy will be appearing with Paulie Harraka and Reed Sorenson at the Starboard in Dewey Beach for an event hosted by the Office of Highway Safety and 97.5 FM Cat Country. The ‘Night Out With NASCAR’ runs from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and features a Q&A, autograph session and giveaways. You can also catch Kennedy on race day at an appearance at the Office of Highway Safety display in the FanZone from 1:30- 2:00 p.m., followed by the NCWTS autograph session in the FanZone from 2:00-2:45 p.m.

This Week’s Silverado…Kennedy and the No. 31 Click It Or Ticket Silverado crew will utilize chassis TSM-214 this weekend at the Monster Mile. TSM-214 was most recently run by Kennedy at Kansas Speedway earlier this month. The truck known to TSM as “Honey Badger” is a favorite of the No. 31 crew after capturing all four of James Buescher’s victories in 2012 on the way to taking the NCWTS title.

Watch and Listen…The Lucas Oil 200 can be seen live on Friday, May 30 on FOX Sports 1. Race coverage will begin at 5:00 p.m. EDT, and the event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Radio, channel 90.

Ben Kennedy on Dover International Speedway

“I don’t think there’s a track on the schedule that I’d like to win at more than Dover. That’s one place where I’ve been really close a couple times in the K&N Series, but it just never quite worked out. It’s also, by far, one of the coolest trophies you can get in the sport. I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t want Miles the Monster on their shelf. I’m also really excited to be partnering with the Delaware Office of Highway Safety this weekend. I enjoyed working with them last year and I’m hoping this time I can bring the Click It Or Ticket Chevrolet to victory lane.”

Rhodes currently leads the NKNPSE points standings.

This Week’s Silverado…Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. and the No. 32 team will unload TSM-217 this weekend at Dover. Chassis 217 was raced by both James Buescher and Ron Hornaday Jr. last year and claimed one pole (Kansas Speedway), one top-five and two top-10 finishes.

Ben Rhodes on Racing at Dover International Speedway:

“I can’t wait to get back in the No. 32 truck this weekend at Dover. We had a great run at Martinsville [Speedway] back in March and I’m thankful to get the opportunity to do it again. I really enjoyed working with Mike Hillman Jr. and his crew; I learned a lot. My Turner Scott Motorsports teammate Tayler Malsam has done well in the No. 32 truck so far, so I hope I can keep the pattern going. I’ve competed at Dover once in the K&N Series and I really like this type of track. I’m ready to learn more from my team and to take on this challenge. I get to race the truck on Friday night, and then turn around and race the K&N car at Bowman Gray on Saturday. Life is pretty good.”

Previous Race Recap…The last time Jones was behind the wheel of the No. 33 Exide Chevrolet was in March at Martinsville Speedway. Jones put together a solid race in the rain-delayed Kroger 250, making his way up into the top 10 during different portions of the event. Jones was unable to stay inside the top 10 in the closing laps due to some late-race restarts. The 17-year-old finished the race in the 15th position, bringing home a career-best finish in the NCWTS.

Meet Brandon…Jones will be participating in the NCWTS autograph session at Dover International Speedway. Located in the Dover FanZone at the Lucas Oil display, the event will run from 2:00-2:45 p.m.

This Week’s Silverado…Jones and the No. 33 Exide crew will unload chassis TSM-222 this weekend at Dover International Speedway. TSM-222 was most recently raced to a 10th-place finish by Cale Cale in the 2013 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Watch and Listen…The Lucas Oil 200 will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1, Friday May 30. Race coverage begins at 5:00 p.m. EDT. The race can also be heard on MRN Radio as well as Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Brandon Jones on Dover International Speedway:

“I’m really excited about our opportunity this weekend at Dover. I’ve been looking forward to getting back into the trucks since our run at Martinsville, and I think our team can build on a good run last time out. I’ve only raced at Dover once and it was a blast; we were able to put together a solid run in the K&N car and bring home a top-10 finish. Hopefully we can put together a similar run this time in the Trucks, and bring home another good finish.”
