July 2, 2014. Mirabel, Quebec- Andrew Ranger has shown plenty of speed in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge during the first two rounds of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and now the native of Roxton Pond is anxious to return to a familiar spot; the top step of the victory podium at Circuit ICAR.
As the series makes its fourth visit to the 2.113 mile, 14 turn course Ranger is seeking his third victory at the track.
“We’ve been fast right from the beginning of the year unfortunately we’ve had some frustrations as well” stated the driver.
Ranger opened the season by posting a new track record and putting the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge on pole for the opening event but a series of hiccups have kept the driver from scoring his first win of the season. Last season Ranger was the class of the field at Circuit ICAR scoring the pole position to start and dominated the race leading all 31 laps.
With a large field of tough competitors Ranger knows he’ll have his work cut out for him.
“There’s a lot of good drivers in the field but I know we’ll have a fast race car and it’s always nice to return to a track you’ve won at before and to race in front of the Quebec fans.”
Action for round number three of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series begins this coming Saturday with practice and qualifying. The race takes place Sunday July 6 at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec.
