CASSILL SHOOTING HIGH AT CHICAGOLAND
JOLIET, Ill. – Landon Cassill will be shooting for a return to the top 10 in Nationwide Series driver points in Saturday’s EnjoyIllinois.com 300 race at Chicagoland Speedway.
Cassill finished 15th last week at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to remain 11th in points. He is 14 points behind 10th-place Ryan Reed.
Cassill has raced eight times at the Chicagoland oval – four in Sprint Cup and four in Nationwide. He finished 10th in the 2008 Nationwide race, his top run at the 1.5-mile track.
“I like Chicagoland,” Cassill said. “It’s a fast track but one you can get around well with the right setup. I always anticipate doing well there. We’re looking to get back in the points top 10.”
The Sprint Cup Series has an off weekend, and only two Cup stars – Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson – are scheduled to drive in the Nationwide race.
Cassill will be sponsored at Chicagoland by Gerber Collision & Glass, the nation’s leading autobody repair and glass repair and replacement company. Car owners have trusted their autobody repairs and auto glass repair and replacement for more than 75 years to Gerber Collision & Glass. Gerber started with one auto glass and trim shop in Chicago and has spread to more than 260 locations across the country, including nearly 60 locations in the Chicagoland area.
Practice is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. (ET) and 6:30 p.m. Friday, with qualifying set for 4:10 p.m. Saturday. The race will get the green flag at 8:30 p.m.
