No. 43 Team Will Use Notes from May Race and Test Session, Looking for Top-10 Finish
It’s been just under three months since Dakoda Armstrong made his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at one of his favorite tracks, Iowa Speedway. This weekend, he’ll return for the second and final time this season, and he’s ready to prove why it’s one of his favorites with a Top-10 finish.
Armstrong finished 21st in his Nationwide debut at the Newton, Iowa track after battling a loose No. 43 WinField Ford. This weekend, Armstrong and the team look to improve on that finish using the team’s notebook from earlier this year. Other than his Nationwide debut in May, the New Castle, Ind. native also has six other starts at the .875-mile track in various racing series. His best finish of fourth came in the 2010 ARCA Racing Series event.
“I’m looking forward to going back to one of my favorite tracks now that I’ve got one Nationwide race under my belt there. We didn’t do as well as we would’ve liked in May, but we have a good notebook to go off of now. We’re going to try some new things, so I’m excited to head back to Iowa. Not only do I want to run well there because it’s one of my favorite tracks, but it’s also a big track for WinField and the agricultural industry in general because it’s in the Midwest.
“Our biggest problem in the race was not being as good on entry as we needed to be. It got really free throughout the race, and we really need to be able to attack the corners and drive it in even farther this weekend. It seems like every time you go there you can drive it in deeper and deeper, so we just have to stay on top of that this weekend.”
