ADVANCE NOTES
· Buescher at Iowa Speedway
o Roush Fenway Racing’s Chris Buescher travels to Iowa Speedway for his second NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at the .88-mile track. Earlier this season, Buescher started 11th and finished 13th.
o Buescher also has four ARCA Racing Series starts at Iowa Speedway, with a best start of third (2009) and a best finish of third (2011).
· The Car
o The No. 60 team unloads Chassis RK-822 at Iowa Speedway for the third time this season. This chassis previously raced at Bristol Motor Speedway and Iowa Speedway, finishing 16th and 13th, respectively.
· Fastenal
o The No. 60 Ford Mustang will carry the Fastenal colors this weekend at Iowa Speedway. Fastenal, America’s largest fastener distributor, operates nearly 2,700 stores spanning all 50 states and 20-plus nations. Fastenal’s headquarters, located in Winona, Minn., is a little over four hours away from Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
o “I’m proud to carry the Fastenal colors this weekend,” said Buescher. “Iowa is one of my favorite tracks, and I was happy with the car in our first race here this season. Our Fastenal Ford Mustang looks awesome. I know this track is close to Fastenal’s headquarters so I’m hoping we can put this Mustang up front on Saturday night.”
· Recapping Indianapolis
o Buescher visited the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the first time in his NNS career. After qualifying eighth, the rookie of the year contender ran solidly inside the top-10 for much of the race. Buescher crossed the finish line in 11th, moving up one position in the NNS point standings to seventh.
