Eric McClure, No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry Pre-Race Report Iowa Speedway

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Eric McClure ready to take on the “Corn State”: Eric McClure will make his eighth start at Iowa Speedway under the lights on Saturday night. McClure’s best finish in Iowa came back in the spring of 2013, when he brought home an 18th place finish. After last weekend’s finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, McClure is looking for redemption in the “American Heartland.” The No. 14 Camry will run a Reynolds Wrap® paint scheme this weekend with Hefty® adorning the TV Panel.

McClure’s thoughts on Iowa Speedway: Iowa is such a great experience all around. From the track to the fans it’s one of our favorite stops. Although we were not happy with our race in May, coming back for a second event gives our team an opportunity to better our result.”

No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry: Crew Chief Wes Ward and the Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® crew will unload chassis No. 7 for Saturday’s night race.  This chassis’ last run was at New Hampshire Motor Speedway where McClure brought home a 26th place finish.

Fun Factoid : Did you know that McClure didn’t begin racing locally in Virginia until he graduated from college in 2000? McClure’s mother, a retired school teacher, and his father valued education over racing. As a result, McClure wasn’t able to start racing until he received his college degree.   Although he would’ve much rather been racing than attending class, his Mass Communications degree with a support in Business Management has aided him in the business side of the motorsports industry.

Additional Notes:

–   The US Cellular 250 will mark Eric McClure’s 244th career start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

–       Eric McClure, along with his TriStar Motorsports teammates, will be at the NASCAR Nationwide Series Autograph session on Saturday, August 2nd at 2:00PM
