KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Aug. 5, 2014) – On a racetrack with 43 other drivers doesn’t seem to faze NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Joey Logano one bit. Working out with Major League Soccer (MLS) champion Sporting Kansas City was a different story.
“They make it look so easy and you know whenever someone makes something look easy that they are really good at what they do,” said Logano as he watched the first part of Sporting’s training session before joining a few of them taking shots on goal. “They sent a cross over to me with a lot of speed and I caught it, which you aren’t supposed to do. It was cool to see the similarity in our sports in the fact that we are trying to be the best we can be in our sport, but also the differences. These guys are in crazy shape.”
Logano did get the hang of it and after a few attempts went either high or wide, finally managed to score. Logano was in Kansas City today to promote Kansas Speedway’s Hollywood Casino 400 on Oct. 5, the fourth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
“This is a really cool track,” said Logano, referring to Kansas Speedway. “The way the track has widened out since the repave has given us two or three lanes which is great for the drivers and the fans.”
Tickets are currently on sale for the Oct. 3 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, the Oct. 4 Kansas Lottery 300 (NASCAR Nationwide Series) and the Oct. 5 Hollywood Casino 400, the fourth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
