Top-10 Finish for Germán Quiroga at Michigan International Speedway

The No. 77 NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra team arrived at Michigan International Speedway anxious to rebound from their disappointing finish at Pocono Raceway. Germán Quiroga felt confident as he hit the Brooklyn, Michigan race track for the first time this season, and finished ninth in the first practice session. The team spent the final practice sessions testing different setups and making practice runs in traffic, and finished in the 12th position. The team advanced to the final round of knock-out qualifying, where they secured a tenth-place starting spot for the Careers for Veterans 200. As soon as the green flag dropped Quiroga began to make his way through the field. He settled into a rhythm and remained in the top 10 until the first round of pit stops, where the team decided to only take fuel. Quiroga remained in the top 10 for much of the race, stating that the balance and handling of his Toyota Tundra felt really good. The final laps of the race came down to strategy, and the No. 77 opted to take four tires and fuel during the last pit stop of the afternoon. This caused the Mexican-born driver to lose a few positions to teams who decided to only take fuel, and there were not enough laps to make up the lost spots. When the checkered flag waved he was marked in the sixth position, remaining sixth in the driver point standings in the fight for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship.

Germán Quiroga Quote:
“We had a really good NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra at Michigan (International Speedway) today. I think we could have gotten a top-five finish but it all came down to strategy at the end. I can’t thank all of the guys on my team enough, they worked really hard all weekend, and I’m really looking forward to getting to Bristol (Motor Speedway)”

Timothy Peters Takes Fast Eddie’s to a Top-10 Finish at Michigan International Speedway

Timothy Peters started the No. 17 Fast Eddie’s/Valvoline Toyota Tundra from the third position and drove to a seventh-place finish in the Careers for Veterans 200 at Michigan International Speedway. The No. 17 team demonstrated solid speed during the two practice sessions on Friday afternoon, posting the 10th and 11th fastest lap times, respectively, around the two-mile Brooklyn, Michigan race track. Peters advanced to the third round of qualifying on Saturday morning and in a strange final knock-out session where only one truck made it across the start-finish line to log a lap time, earned the third starting position with his fast time from the second round. When the green flag dropped he reported that the red and white Toyota Tundra was a little tight through the center of the turns. He battled back into the top five after the first round of green-flag pit stops. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran told crew chief Marcus Richmond that he felt a slight vibration. During their second and final pit stop of the afternoon on lap 75, the Fast Eddie’s/Valvoline pit crew serviced the No. 17 machine with four tires, fuel, a shock and chassis adjustment to combat the increasingly tight condition. As the green-flag pit stops cycled through, Peters found himself in the seventh position, where he remained and took the checkered flag.

Timothy Peters Quote:
“We had a really solid Fast Eddie’s/Valvoline Toyota Tundra today. The guys had great green-flag pit stops and kept us up there in the top 10. I want to thank Fast Eddie’s for joining us for today’s race. We had a great group of guests here, and I hope they had a good time today at Michigan International Speedway. We have a quick turnaround this week so we’re already thinking about our race at Bristol (Motor Speedway) on Wednesday.”
