Green Posts 30th-place Finish at RIR

Richmond, VA (September 5, 2014)-After seeing a solid outing spoiled by an accident in his previous event at Mid-Ohio, Jeff Green was eager to get back behind the wheel of the No. 14 car at Richmond Int’l Raceway. The Virginia 529 College Savings 250 was the fourth of five scheduled races in the Reynolds Wrap®/Hefty® Toyota for the former Nationwide Series champion. Qualifying 24th, Green maintained his position for the first 90 laps of the 250-lap event, despite battling a car that was extremely tight in the center of the turns. On lap 92, however, Green was racing three wide when another competitor clipped the right rear area of the car. The contact sent the Reynolds Wrap®/Hefty® Camry into the outside retaining wall, where it collected another car. The damage to the right side was too severe to repair on pit road so the team pushed the No. 14 Camry behind pit wall to make repairs. Once the task was completed, Green returned to the track in the 31st position, 52 laps down to the race leader. In the end, Green was able to advance one position to finish the event in the 30th spot.

Jeff Green Quotes: “Tonight was rough. We didn’t really plan on our night going like this but I thought at times we had a pretty good car. Unfortunately we had some bad luck but I give a big thanks to Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap®, TriStar and Team McClure for the opportunity.”
