Ford Racing NSCS Notes & Quotes:
Sylvania 300 Advance – New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Saturday, September 20, 2014
Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion, can become the first Ford driver to win three straight NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races since Rusty Wallace did it in June 1994 (Dover, Pocono, Michigan). Keselowski, who is on the pole for tomorrow’s race, was also fastest in today’s first practice session.
BRAD KESELOWSKI – No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion – WHAT DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR CAR IN THIS FIRST PRACTICE SESSION? “It’s really hard to get the tires up to temperature and get going. Goodyear brings a great tire here that’s made to run in heat with all the brake heat and all those things, so when the track is really cold like this the first few laps are really dangerous. Everybody is kind of fighting that, but the temperatures should be up for tomorrow’s race and even for the next practice session that shouldn’t be an issue.”
HOW CLOSE ARE YOU WITH THE SETUP FROM JULY TO NOW? “That’s probably a better question for Paul, but I think we’re probably pretty close. I know him pretty well.”
YOU SPOKE YESTERDAY ABOUT CONCENTRATING ON RACE TRIM TODAY. HOW DID IT GO IN THAT FIRST SESSION? “It’s been really good so far. The track is not quite up to temperature yet to get the best read, but so far, so good.”
