Superspeedway Racin’…Justin Allgaier will make his third NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Talladega Superspeedway (TSS) on Sunday afternoon. TSS is one of four tracks where Allgaier made NSCS starts last year in the No. 51 BRANDT Chevy. He has completed all laps in his two NSCS starts at the 2.66-mile superspeedway. Allgaier has five starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) at TSS, with one top-five and three top-10 finishes, along with four laps led. TSS is the fourth and final superspeedway race of the 2014 season.

Charlotte II Recap…Allgaier and the No. 51 BRANDT team put together a solid weekend in racing’s back yard. Last weekend, he completed all three practice sessions and earned the 16th starting spot, one position higher than his starting spot in the May Charlotte race. Despite going one lap down about midway through the race, Allgaier battled back for a lead-lap finish and also led two laps. He gained several positions during the race’s green/white/checkered finish to earn a 15th-place finish in the No. 51 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet for HScott Motorsports, scoring his career-best NSCS finish.

Sunoco Rookie of the Year…After graduating to the NSCS this season, Allgaier is competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the No. 51 BRANDT Chevy. In 2009, Allgaier took home the Rookie of the Year title in the NNS. After Charlotte, Allgaier is currently third in the standings, behind Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon.

Justin Allgaier on Talladega Superspeedway:

“We are coming off of a good weekend at Charlotte [Motor Speedway], so I have a lot of confidence for Talladega [Superspeedway]. I think we will unload off of the truck really well, and that’s really important at a superspeedway. There’s not much you can change once you are at the track to make a big difference in the car. The key to Talladega will be to avoid the wrecks. I’ve been lucky enough to avoid them so far in the Sprint Cup Series, so I hope that trend continues this weekend.”

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Talladega Superspeedway:

“We are fortunate enough to get our cars from Hendrick [Motorsports] and they build the best superspeedway cars in the industry, so we’ll have a great car. There’s going to be a lot of different drivers with different agendas because Talladega [Superspeedway] is a Chase race. Everyone at HScott Motorsports has been working really hard and that showed last weekend at Charlotte [Motor Speedway]. As long as Justin doesn’t get caught up in a mess on the track, we will have a great weekend.”
