Charlie Kimball, Novo Nordisk sign with Chip Ganassi Racing Teams for 2015

Chip Ganassi Racing announced on Thursday, December 12th that Charlie Kimball and Novo Nordisk will return for their fifth season after inking a multi-year deal.

“I am really excited to continue to be a part of this great partnership with Novo Nordisk and Chip Ganassi Racing,” Kimball said. “The relationships we’ve built over the past four years, both on and off the track, are only getting stronger as I enter my fifth Verizon IndyCar Series season.

“From the guys at the shop prepping the car each and every week, to those within Novo Nordisk working on the Race With Insulin program, it’s truly a team effort.”

Kimball initially partnered with Novo Nordisk in 2009 while competing in Indy Lights. Kimball manages his diabetes with Novo Nordisk products both on and off the track, after originally being diagnosed with diabetes in 2007. Kimball shares his story with approximately 10,000 people each year, educating and making them aware of the condition.

“Our partnership with Charlie and Chip Ganassi Racing has given us the opportunity to convey that diabetes doesn’t have to slow you down and inspire those who are working to manage their condition,” Camilla Lee, Novo Nordisk’s vice president of diabetes marketing, said. “We couldn’t have picked two better partners to continue that journey.”

Kimball marks the third driver confirmed for CGR in 2015 after an announcement earlier this week that Scott Dixon will be behind the wheel of the No. 9 Target ride, with Tony Kanaan behind the wheel of the No. 10 NTT Data ride.
