Seagrove, N.C. (January 9, 2015) – Carter 2 Motorsports has announced it has signed 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Most-Popular Driver, Cassie Gannis, to drive the #96 Dodge at the Daytona International Speedway on February 14th.
“We are excited to have such an excellent driver with us at Daytona,” team owner Roger Carter said. “She performed very well at our test in December and we are proud to have such an excellent driver and role model with our team.
Gannis, the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Most-Popular Driver, has made eight career starts in NASCAR’s minor leagues, with her best finish of 16th twice during the 2011 season. Outside of NASCAR K&N Pro Series competition, she has participated in NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity multiple times, in addition to being a regular competitor in the NASCAR Whelen Late Model and All-American Series throughout the Southwestern United States.
She also participated in last month’s ARCA Racing Series testing session at the Daytona International Speedway. With Carter 2 Motorsports, she was the fastest of the entire team, 29th fastest out of the 52 drivers, and the 7th fastest Dodge. Her fast lap was 49.599 seconds, an average speed of 181.455 mph.
Aside from racing, Cassie also owns her own team that competes in NASCAR’s Super Late Model division that has been a consistent front runner the past two seasons.
